After using making contact with his connections at the wireless company, Wilhelm finds Del Paso Country Club at the GPS coordinates he's been given.

Aside from the country club proper, there seems to be major renovations going on at the golf course; large earth movers sit silent and still; metal dinosaurs slumbering in the darkness.

A large, bare area of earth scars the lush green grass of the fairways, a cement truck sits in the middle of it. Another truck, with a large engine and hoses, crouches nearby, like a cub next to it's mother.

His calls completed, Wilhelm returns his phone to his pocket as he regards the patch of dirt. How Conner seemed to have gotten himself buried...undead(?) he had no idea. Nor did he have much of an idea of how they would be able to unearth him. And a large part of him wondered if it would even be worth the trouble. Quite a bit to puzzle over, all told.

For now though...he simply waited for Thomas and Max to arrive.

[Thomas Connor]

Thomas was packing pretty much the same equipment that he had been carrying the last time he'd done investigation work with the Priscus. Colt .45 and Bowie knife hidden inside his leather jacket, an average pair of comfy jeans and work boots. There were a couple of additions, there was a wrist watch on his left wrist, a compass in one of his pockets and he had stopped on his way up to Citrus Heights for some heavy duty rope and a clip/hook. Seriously Conner's message had said he was underground and if the Kindred was in Torpor it would be impossible for a one handed man to drag another to the surface.

The Mekhet whip walks towards the head of his family with the bundle of rope over his shoulder, looking around the darkened country club with his Auspex enhanced vision wondering just where in the hell Conner Greyson had ended up.

[Max Heinz]

*Max's black BMW pulls up a short time later, the thin Mekhet making his way over to the other two Shadows after closing the door. He'd learned his lesson from the last time he went into the sewer, dressed in a pair of cheap canvas shoes and grey sweats. He doesn't see any easy sewer entrances, and wonders where their missing man was. He looks around the country club, then back to the other men.* If you tell me this involves gophers, I'm going home...

He was not really sure whether Max was joking or not. On one hand...the thought of a trio of Mekhet chasing after gophers just seemed observed. On the other, he'd never known the Deputy to crack a joke. "To the best of my knowledge, it does not. I do, however suspect that Mr. Greyson has somehow managed to get himself buried at the bottom of," he gestured towards the stark path of earth, "that. And I will admit that excavation is hardly my specialty."

[Thomas Connor]

"Well we're already here, might as well take a look around who knows maybe we'll find something more than dirt, dirt and more dirt." He almost made a comment about Caddyshack to Max but Thomas didn't think that his fellow Mekhet would have gotten the reference. Still the three of them had come all the way out here to try and find Greyson, it would be a waste of time if they didn't even bother looking. Thomas turns his eyes towards the site and begins to look for any holes around the country club not on a green with a flag sticking out of them.

[Max Heinz]

*Max nods at his Priscus, looking at the freshly filled in hole.* I'm afraid I've never done any yard work on this scale. Perhaps someone has a connection in city hall and can force them to reexcavate. There are enough building codes, there has to be one they can throw at them...

*With nothing else to be done, Max makes his way around the fresh dirt. They had to be digging for something, either the sewer or a watering system, something accessible. Just for a moment, his mind drifts back to his mortal days; and once more, he finds himself digging for a dead man..*

Max eventually makes his way down to the scar. Periodically, he finds holes drilled in the ground; some filled will cooling cement, others empty. As he nears the concrete and other truck, he sees rebar sticking out of the ground in a wide circle with orange caution tape ringing them.

A bit closer, and he finds the well-hole. A hose from the smaller truck runs into it, and Max can see what looks like pump controls on the side of the truck.

Another hose extends from the truck, and is obviously where the pumped water disperses.

Without a better idea of his own in mind, Wilhelm opts to follow Max in his circuit of the soil. And his gaze, quite naturally, fixates upon the hole for the well. He picks his way over to it then peers over the edge, careful to keep his weight low and use both his hands and feet to steady him. The last thing he needed was to get sent tumbling down the abyss headfirst.

And he spends a few seconds watching and listening, Auspex enhancing both those key senses as he hopes to pick up on some sign of Conner at the bottom. Lowering a rope down was far preferable to moving tons of dirt.

Thomas followed the pair of deputies with the bundle of rope still over his shoulder as they move to examine the Well. Part of him wants to smile about the idea of text messages and a modern form of communication filling in for the role of Lassie and alerting the authorities that someone was stuck down a well. He watched the Priscus examine the dark hole and began to look around for something to tie or clip the rope on to in case they needed to descend into the hole themselves.

Of course there was the $64, 000 question about the whole situation stuck in his head. Why would Greyson climb down the well .... if he had even climbed or fallen. Could someone have thrown him down?
