Mirage echoes Eclipse as he says, "good evening." She's dressed in a long white dress that hugs her thin form. The delicate pattern of silvery sequins on the dress makes her body seem to shimmer as light passes over it and through her dark strands of long, black hair the reflective glimmer of her earrings can be seen.

Taking in the scene at the Avalon, she notices a rather handsome, trustworthy, face tending the bar. "Excuse me," she says to Beverly and Eclipse and goes over to the interesting bartender to order a drink.

Maria Solàr

Maria is painfully aware of the discomfort she causes the people around her, but it doesn't even come close to how awful it feels to not be useful to her fellows in arms.

"Yes of course," she responds, trying to let Tyria know that no offense has been taken. "I would be glad to run them through everything I know. Would you mind if I excuse myself to meet some of the others?"

You'll have much more fun if I get out of your way after all, she thinks dourly.

Bresus Valkyrr

Bresus furrows her brow. The Grim Sight has unveiled strange resonances, not Awakened magic yet something unnatural. She puzzles this as she orders a Cosmopolitan.

Jimmy Bourbon notices the youngest Mage upstairs, a hair faster than Gwenny does and he makes it over first. He cuts her off and approaches Trench.

"Hey man, you new? I'm Jimmy." Gwenny curses just out of reach and Jimmy continues, drawing the back of his hand to his nose to cover over a smile.

[Trench]

Whoa, where did he come from? 'Oh, hey. Yeah. New to all...This." Trench as always seems to be thrown off by someone showing up from nowhere. "There was a party going on somewhere?"

"Drink it in while you can, this is the first one in a while man."

"These here? The greats of the great Sac city. The enlightened few, the wise." He eyes Trench, trying to gauge his potential. "What's your name, new fish?"

The quartet of Arrows go upstairs, where Joshua pauses for a moment (moving aside enough that others can still use the stairs even as the four talk). If he notices Ruby with her Guardian escort, he gives no indication.
"Orphan, you've got duty here," he says. His tone is business-like and clipped, trying to be efficient and fast with the info. "You'll be the first one everybody sees when they come up. Tug," he adds, turning to the Thyrsus, and spinning one finger in a circle, "Do a counter-clockwise circuit up here. Look for anything we need to be aware of or shore up now, while we still have time before the bulk of the party gets here. Brutus and I will go clockwise. We'll meet here, you'll let me know of anything you've seen, and we'll see if we can fix it before a situation comes up.
"We need to blend in," he says, indicating Brutus and Tug. "Orphan's primarily door duty tonight, and has to act the part, but the three of us will mostly be doing circuits up here and through the dance floor. No gunplay unless absolutely necessary," Joshua says, glancing at Brutus. "Too much can go wrong with that.
"Keep sightlines clear to at least one other Arrow the whole time, we need to be able to communicate with hand signs. I would have brought some walkies or something, but this music would have made them unusable anyhow.
"This is a party," he says, demeanor softening a bit. "Depending on how things go, we may be able to snag some break time for each of you so you can relax a bit and mingle. No drinks, but I want you guys to all have the benefit of being here, too. We'll see what it's like later in the evening.
"Questions?"

Brutus shakes his head no. No questions he would not fuck this up- like last time.
He waits for the others before doing anything else.

Valkyrie | Short

Valkyrie arrives, without fanfare. She's wearing a brown dress that's cut to make her look slightly less petite. It showed off her shoulders and upper back, and there are faint scars from the past and fresh scars from what had to be work on them. She was looking forward to this evening, the first real social thing since that time at the Rage. She was quite certain that she was not going to try another game of shots this time.

As she climbed the stairs, she saw the group of Arrows setting up for security. She couldn't help it. "Orphan? How are you doing?"

Beverly smiles warmly upon seeing Eclipse. "Thank you Deacon, though I wasn't the one to send out the invites." She gestures at Mr. Wells. "Perhaps you two are friends, this is Mr. Wells. And yes, we'll be upstairs, though feel free to use the dancefloor, Gary's just let me know it's free."

She smiles at Mr. Wells, then the Deacon, though the look she gives Eclipse is slightly worried, and she seems a little unnerved by Mr. Wells.

[Orphan]

Orphan shakes his head in response to Joshua's question. "No questions," he says.

When Val enters, Orphan smiles widely. "I'm doing great, Val," he says. "And you about you? I haven't seen you around in awhile."
