Duel school: round two!

[Chambers]

A chance to give the previous batch of students the opportunity to put what they had learnt into practice, and refresh anything that might have slipped, add to that the chance for mages who had been unable to make it the first time round and well and one with any knowledge of teaching knows a lesson is never taught just the once.

And So the hierarch in a dusk grey three piece suit with golden buttons has arrived at the circle ready to cover the essentially of the duel arcane, square the circle and quietly hoping to not have the wits beaten out of his head this time.

The Code Duello was out on a table for any and all to read, both an introduction, a deeper dive and a refresher for those wishing to learn about the traditions of the duel arcane. Given it's prominence and respect as a means of resolution in awakened society it was without a doubt a worthwhile and pertinent lesson to take part in.

[Thirteen]

Thirteen arrived, dressed in denim overalls, a white and black striped shirt, a knit wool scarf and a red beanie. A cute, warm outfit for the winter. Northern California had been under quite a torrent of cold and rain the last few weeks.

"Hullo, Chambers," she greeted the Hierarch in her informal manner. She had a to-go cup of coffee in one hand, and she sipped from it. "Think we'll get more participants this time?"

Before an answer can be made, a small black shape swooped into the area and alit upon the Acanthus' shoulder. A crow, it was.

"Okay, so that wasn't Uma Thurman, after all. Dammit." It spoke?

"I told you it wasn't her," she replied to the talking bird. "Why would she be in Sacramento at a random Starbucks?"

"Don't squash my dreams, woman!"

Thirteen looked at Chambers, sighed, and gestured at the crow. "Ah, yeah, you haven't met. This is Jinx, my... familiar. Jinx, this is Chambers, the Hierarch."

"Ohhhhh, the boss man? Hiya!" The black bird waved a wing towards the Moros.

[Aurora]

Attending had been up in the air, but in the end, as Councilor, she decided to represent her Path. In case any Shamans showed up, she wanted to make sure to support them learning and all that.

Casual was the name of game in oversized jeans and a loose white shirt. A leather jacket was over that for the chill in the air, coffee in hand, blonde hair braided off to the side.

Walking in, she sees Chambers, waves, “Hi Chambers, how are you?” a nod of her head in respect, Hierarch and all.

Then sees Thirteen, and Jinx, smirking, “Thirteen! And Jinx! How’s it going? You guys getting along ok?” obviously seeing the Crow wasn’t a surprise to the Shaman.

[Skye]

Still annoyed at herself for having missed the last lesson, things getting in the way yes but still a failure she was not particularly keen on repeating as she walks into the circle dressed in a black and white oversized hoodie a not to bad new style but yet longing for the chance to finally stop wearing them, hair woven together into a single long braid to not get in the way of whatever might come for the day, along with her usual knives at her back.

Eyes scanning over the crowd with a warm smile given towards her councilor.
”Councilor Aurora, a pleasure as always.”

And over towards the only man in their party with a light nod.
”Hierarch Chambers, thanks for hosting this lesson here today.”

Lastly turning her eyes over towards their newest Councilor.
”Councilor Thirteen.” About to go look over the papers on the table as her eyes gets caught on the crow, eyeing it for a moment with a softness to her look. ”Who is this little cutie?”

Placing herself by the table and starting to go over the laid out information before her.

[Chambers]

Well it seemed there was still an appetite for learning and practicing the duel, looking over as the Enchantress entered. "Councillor Thirteen, hello." His answer interrupted as a bird flies in, a talking bird. A look of mixed surprise and curiosity show across the Moros' face. "Well we had what two thirds the Consilium attend last time so more would be great but I would happily settle for the same." Quite the talkative bird it would seem. Of things he did not expect today being introduced to a bird that new about celebrities was not one. Although that is quickly explained. "I see, the first familiar I have seen or even heard of in Sacramento. Congratulations." Spirits are not his wheel house knowing about enough to be sure that caution was always a good idea so a slight nod is returned to the waved wing. "Hello Jinx." This was at current estimation, a positive development.

Next to arrive, another returning student, and some he is quite content to not duel again today if he could help it. "Councillor Aurora, I am well thank you, yourself?" And it would seem she was already aware of the spiritual developments, as the councillor of the Thyrsus that registered as less surprising then the familiar itself.

Skye's arrival is a good thing by his reckoning, that would make five of the current six mages schooled in the basics and how to dos of the duel. "Hello, Skye." Waving of the thanks. "No thanks needed, knowing the ins and outs of the duel arcane is rather essential for any awakened." Even the Seers recognised the importance and tradition of the duel arcane. "I'll give it a little longer before getting under way see if anyone else attends then I'll split the group into first time attendees and those who can skip the pre amble and get straight to practicing." That seemed like the most logical way of handlining things.

[Thirteen]

Thirteen was taking a sip of her coffee as Aurora arrived. She smiled and nodded, "It's goin' alright, I think."

Jinx, though, fluttered over to hover by the Sharman, "Aurora! She's so mean to me! She won't let me watch TV!" The Acanthus scowled in response, "Not at 3 AM! I'm tryin' to sleep!" Could a crow roll his eyes? It felt this one could, "Details, details!"

Yeah, they were getting along like an old married couple.

The crow returned to his mistress' shoulder as Skye arrived, and he took immediate notice of the Arrow. "Oh, ho! Who's this? Another hottie?" Now it was Thirteen who rolled her eyes. "Calm down, lovebird. Hullo, Skye. This is Jinx, my familiar."

The Libertine looked towards Chambers, "Aye, I suppose we can only expect so many. At least with Skye here we can have new match-ups."

[Aurora]

There was a sip and a wave, “Skye, good to see you.” The smile returned, “Hope you’ve been well.”

Hearing Chambers say it was the first Familiar he had seen, she thinks back over her years in the city. It was the first she had seen as well. “Not doing too bad.

Smirking with a chuckle, “Have you tried watching the tv with the volume lowered? That way she gets to sleep and you get to enjoy the tv?” was a thought. But sounds like they were having fun. “Or you can put a tv in the garage and watch it there.”

[Asclepius]

He had finally arrived, much later then he wanted to, but he would not make excuses as no one would care for them and he had none to hand. He arrived dressed in his casual clothes a combination of Jeans and a casual T-shirt, usually training called for a more sporty dress sense but this was more of a training of a different sense situation.

He carried a prepared bag as he entered into the area of which the lesson would take place. “Apologies everyone, I hope I am not interrupting the lesson.” He waved as he greeted. “I have brought painkillers, water, and some small cakes should we need them for today.” He brought the combination after remembering that last time people were complaining of headaches after the duels. He set his bag down quickly and made his way over before finally noticing a new face. “Hello... there...Nice to meet you.” The slow greeting given as he was not expecting the extra presence. He looked about the room and saw those that were present and gave a warm smile to each, he wanted to minimise the inturruption as much as he could. He was particularly happy to see that Skye had come this time to the lesson. Himself and her had physically sparred but not on a duelling level, so he had hopes of going against her, but he did not hold his breath for it. At the end of the day, he was happy to participate either way.
