It sounded like Skye knew her words were not right and apologized. And as far as Aurora was concerned, the matter was closed. Unless Guru decided it wasn’t and he was truly offended by them. Then it would be addressed in private, as a Path and handled then.

So, she simply nods for now, waiting to hear Guru’s take.

Nodding back to Chambers, “It is never too late to learn anything in life. All one needs is the desire to want to learn and the drive to achieve it.” Personally, she loves to learn, and is always looking for new things to dive into.

As to the names, “They might be removed, but as you said, the names will endure, as memories. Fond friendships for some, stories to be passed along by Path and Order.” She knew she would always speak fondly of Phoenyx for years to come. But that’s what they all became in the end, memories, some shared, some not.

There was a storm of conflicting emotions as Aurora came to his defense which made Skye apologize. He tried to wave it off, "No offense taken you were just giving me more credit which I appreciate. Plus, I mean, statistically you took the right guess. Aurora's right though, our educational system here certainly has gaps and at that time my focus had been more on extra curriculars." Drugs. "I haven't exactly followed a traditional path in life so I had to learn some life lessons the hard way." A shrug of his shoulders as the comment came off just as non-chalantly. Pride, stubbornness, resistance to authority, call it what you like but it had made the Shamans path overgrown and filled with thistles instead of the easily tread one laid out for him.


Hearing Skye's passion for the book made him take a note to look it up later. Now if he remembered would be the real question. It'd been enough to pique his interest at least at a cursory level. Guru couldn't help but raise an eyebrow and laugh, "What were you expecting, bruised ribs and bloodied noses for people who have day jobs to get to? It's Sport, Skye. It's about working within with parameters given, it's about precision and control. My hot take is it can be art and artful as anything else we just don't usually use that lens to look at it." He was biased here, for sure, having a passion for athletics himself.


He nodded along and echoed Chambers' sentiment further, "Not my strong suit, I'm better with numbers and equations personally. Makes sense to me too about the numbers, with a formal record being kept it would be redundant and end up making finding a useful number in an emergency more taxing." He cared about sentiment quite a bit but he was working on things, like taking the long view.


"Want to aim to get together a couple weekends from now? Where should we meet? If you think of anything at all let me know. Maybe you need something repaired, formulated, made and then I can walk through the process. Just think about it for now. I have one short term goal, a medium one, and a very long term goal. And the ultimate goal of making sure those don't change on a whim..." He laughed at least knowing that particular flaw of his.

”They can always re add their names should they return.” Already having been surprised Guru did not speak a secondary language but now him to, at least not getting into reacting this time. And I thought I was on the lowest end, by the winds this feels strange.

Looking a bit embarrassed, she had acted on impulse that was a truth, to used to being the least educated but most physical in any given situation.
”Thanks, I am glad to hear it was not a sting.” Offering a shrug. ”The system though that I know very little off, not like I spent many a days in school. Nor was I ever on the path to some Ivy League school.” Home schooling certainly was more enjoyable though and easier to sneak away from. ”Is that not the tale for us all? Traditional walks in in life are dull and just gives you the same story as everyone else.” Yusch. ”Wanna go fishing?” I really need to ask him how he picked up his more rare skillset some time when I get a chance.

Sighing at the laugh with a roll of her eyes.
”Fooled by media is all I can say, a chance to combine some fighting with athletic prowess it would have been grand. It always looked fun when they really pounded at each other.” But this no this was tame. ”Every sport, or well nearly every sport can be, be they single or group based, but I need things to help keep me in shape for as many possible scenarios as possible, I do not really have time to dedicate to something where I am not improving myself in fields or situations I am in direct need of.” No she had her gymnastics training to keep up with and that covered most of what this gave.

A warm look to Aurora and out towards the gardens, eyes closing for a moment with memories of Corn, Phoenyx, Kaze, Anima and even Briar flashes before her. Eyes opening to look back towards the group.

No stranger to learning things the recent change had been the motive, the drive that lead to what he engaged with and the surprisingly positive results from focusing on what was needed around him over personal ambitions. "Add having the time to that list." Said only half jokingly. Even he most avid scholar fuelled by magic could only juggle so many tasks and topics. "I'll get to a language or two one day but not a pressing priority." Especially knowing others existed to fill that gap.

Reaching over to he takes up a pen and begins to cross out names and numbers on the list, the other mages talked sense and he had listened. "All very good points. Better to not have things clustered hey." Everything was subject to change he should know that better then most, this was simply another form of that principle.

“Sometimes a traditional path doesn’t work, at least, it’s not for everyone. But we all find what we need and learn what we need to at the end.” Offering a smile. Her’s had certainly not being a traditional path, but she had enjoyed the journey and where it had brought her.

“A couple weeks for me, and either my place or yours. Formulated?” what would she need formulated? Chuckling, “I promise to think it over.” But she wasn’t expecting it to change.

Nodding to Chambers, “With the numerous things there are to learn, it’s difficult to add certain things in. I know I’ve had to shuffle around what’s a priority and what isn’t over recent months.” But she didn’t sound upset by it.
