The Council is called to order

Were there any Consili lead by Libertine Hierarch? How would that work? Has it worked? The Ladder is briefly lost in thoughts of the unknown before Aurora reveals that she's a former Ladder. Cavendish can't help but look at her intently for a moment before looking around the room and focusing back on the conversation.

"I am woefully under qualified to be here. Much less Hierarch." The Ladder shakes his head. "A first step would be pursuing Factotum status as Councilor Chambers noted about my Order." This time a nod to the man. "I support your bid your Hierarch."

Its been over 4 days Salem silent leaves the meeting

Having everyone on board made this easy. Well, as easy as voting someone into the position. But the first hurdle was over.

The Shaman remains quiet as Chambers speaks about the questions raised. She had already offered her thoughts and words on them, so no need to repeat herself. Plus, she hated to do it.

Nodding, “I’ve been a Factotum for many years, before Councilor Chambers was one. I recommend any Mage study for the exam, as the information and knowledge you gain is invaluable. Knowledge of the Lex is something that this Concilium is sorely lacking as I am sure many of you have observed.” It was hard to not sound annoyed and bitter about that.

Catching the look, “No need to worry, Councilor, I’ve never betrayed the secrets of the Ladder, nor do I ever intend to.” Leaving an Order for another wasn’t common, but she knew the stigma with it. She left on good terms and would never talk of what she learned while within their ranks.

Cavendish support is met with a nod of gratitude. "Thank you Councillor Cavendish, and I wish you luck with your own pursuits I look forward to seeing your successes." It would be good to have more educated to that level on the lex and for the sole ladder to have that under his belt.

Then things got quite, really quite. Until Salem left without a word. Maybe he could support the idea of a hemiarch but actually taking part was a step for his ideals? That of course was speculation and left unvoiced. "Then Unless things have changed I have the support of myself having put my name forward." As conceited as that sounded. "Councillor Aurora, and councillor Cavendish." A slim majority but a majority. Looking to the silent Theurgist. "Councillor Joyeuse your last words on the matter is that if Aurora was not interested in the position you would support my bid. Does this stand?" Having spoken to answer the Obrimos' concerns it only was right to offer the opportunity for any further question, clarification or change of heart.

Joyeuse listened to Chambers' rebuttal, Cavendish's dismissal of his own candidacy, and Aurora's support of the former's words.

Chambers rebuttal earns some raised brows, but the Obrimos listens intently. He's willing to defend himself. Good. Best we have a Hierarch who won't wilt.

At Chambers' final question, the Obrimos nodded.

"Naturally," they replied, "You have my full support, Hierarch. I am at your disposal and, as such, should you require anything of me, I welcome the challenge. Otherwise, I will continue to focus my efforts on establishing the Tower further for the Arrow. Given what we've heard in regards to San Francisco, I aim to provide the Order what I can to prepare for a possible conflict."

There's a pause for thought before Cavendish nods to Aurora's words of reassurance. It's hard to tell if its a nod of thanks or acknowledgement. The Libertine leaving is disappointing but something Cavendish can follow up on later. Their views are so close and yet not.

"Thank you Hierarch, I will get started on that." The only Ladder not being a Factotum looks bad. "I will see what I can find in the Ladder records that could assist in our defense, legally at least."

A glance at the Arrow. "I don't know how or if I can be useful there but Sacramento is my home so if I can do anything let me know."

[Chambers]

And that made it four. "Thank you councillor Joyeuse." Being addressed as Hierarch felt wrong, maybe it should it, maybe it was imposter syndrome either way the matter was settled and any challenge before this seemed trivial in comparison. "Then it's best the efforts so far get capitalised on. In he coming days I will send each of you a working draft of the charter I have been working on. I aim to institute it at April's official meeting of the Consilium." Looking at each councillor in turn. A note would be included for Salem or he could check the notes. "If any serious objections need to be raised please do so before the first of April." One thing leads to the next.

But it had happened the matter they had met for of such high importance settled. "Thank you all." The Consilium was taking shape, step by step closer with each passing day. "Meeting adjourned. Be well, be safe." He himself will not go anywhere for a little while letting the decision, the reality of it sink in.
