[Rhodes]

"Don't be flippant about this, sweetheart!" he says with a chuckle. "If you did, you know I'll want to know about it... and see you do it again..."

He begins looking around the room. Several hings stand out as suspicious.

Musing at the cables and non-running water, he follows Sera as she points out the indent. "Well, it looks like someone dragged someone along here... Maybe there's a hint in the bathroom."

The Flowering gestures around the room. "This room isn't being used. It's a stage. Over there, no Bible. There, and over there - nothing is plugged in. The minibar is empty. It's like there's nothing about this room that is as it is supposed to be if people where actually staying here. I'd say we have our trap site right here. Hang on. I have an idea - a little contract I picked up long ago. We don't have long left. Anything else you want to check?"

Rhodes slips into the bathroom and looks at the mirror. Maybe the shards would reveal another secret.

Coal Eyes, widens his, stepping back at the other Spring words snare his ear. The pattering hiss of his raining mantle faltering, along with the flame in his chest.

Wax Dreads, however, continues to pat the bed, flames rolling off her hands to catch at at the sheets, the awful scent of them igniting snakes through the air, merging with the scent of burning blooms.

"Looks like you're all talk, or don't you know what to do with your sword?"

Circe

Luck it seems is on Circe's side, the interior door is unlocked. The door gives way, and the elf is let into the motel's hallway. Salmon a dingy smear of colour on the walls. Awkward wall sconces, line the wall, in between each door. The carpet might have once been 70s shag, but time and use has made it flat, bulbing up and out in awkward areas.

Rhodes and Sera

The shard sparks to remembered life. Rhodes sees the bathroom, flashing quicksilver upon the shard. Sunlight slipping to moonlight, a rapid cycle until, the shard shows someone vaguely familiar sweeping up the shards. A shirt with the motel's name on the shirt, with a bright red cut high on his cheek, eye swollen to closed. Lip split and bleeding.

Sapphires look at him as she sticks her tongue out with a smirk, “We’ll see.” But they had more pressing matters.

Looking around the room, she nods, “It’s not right. But the question is, what are they trapping and why.” That window still bugged her, but repairing it would raise more questions and suspicions. Unless she broke it again after. But it was a risk, and if this room was a trap, she wasn’t sure it was one she was willing to take.

Then she shakes her head, “The Contract I want to use will draw too much attention. So I’ll leave it be for now, the less attention we draw, the better.” They didn’t know what they were dealing with yet.

She watches Rhodes look at the broken mirror, which was odd. The window and mirror were broken?

“You know, if it would help, I think I can repair the mirror.” She offers softly, curious as to what he was doing.

[Rhodes]

"Such a tease," Rhodes mutters under his breath, smirking.

He waves to the floor. "People, I think, darling. Lings or people. And you're right. I don't want to draw more attention than we already have."

The Flowering looks over to Sera, smiling. "I appreciate the thought sweetheart, truly, but that would cause similar problems. Come take a look at this." He shows the image, held in the reflection. "Look familiar?"

Coal Eyes, kneels next to Wax Dreads, grabbing a shirt that was one the floor, he wraps it around his lover's wound. It's not enough. The shirt soon stained with blood. Panicked. He picks her up, with hurried strides, she makes his way to the bathroom door, he knocks before opening it. When he opens it, it opens to the hedge.

He closes the door behind him and the pair of them are gone.

Rhodes

Ah yes! The Dread Lord does recognize him, he's not the missing man they'd been sent for, but the man who they'd seen mopping the floor in the lobby when their first came in.

but wait a moment, Rhodes couldn't remember him in the lobby when they'd left for room 12....

She raises an eyebrow playfully, “You love it.” She tosses back with a smirk.

Obviously people or Lings. “But it doesn’t answer the why. Are people being taken and sold?” there was a bit of panic in her voice. She didn’t want to think about the Flesh Markets, but it could be happening. Here, from this room. “We have to figure out what they’re doing.” The panic replaced with a bit of anger.

There was a frown, “Yeah, you’re right.” At some point she was going to do something useful. Looking into the piece of mirror, she sees the face, and tries to place it. Shaking her head, “No, should I?”

Rhodes chuckles lightly, and slips an arm around the nix, trapping her gently between him and the wall "You know I do..." His eyes roam her face and quickly kiss her lips. "Later though. We need to hurry."

He casts a look back into the room. "No way of knowing, yet. The thing for certain is people aren't sleeping in here. But look at this fellow," he waves over to the mirror. "He's the fellow that was in the... lobby...." the Dread Lord's speech slows as he realizes there had been no-one else in the lobby before.

The Flowering snaps his fingers, grimacing. "A glamour, perhaps.... A magical gift that we might not notice him..." He looks at Sera. "I fear there may be Changelings about we do not know, darling. We need to be careful. I'll tell the others."

Bashing out a quick message to Circe, Rhodes commits the man's visage to memory. Odds are he would be hard to find here.

Room 12 is more staging post than motel room. Looks like people get dragged out of here. Also I suspect Lings are around. Watch your backs. The message flies off to Circe. It's not a complex message, but gets the detail.

"We don't have long left, Sera. There's still something I want to try. Step back with me." Rhodes moves into room, watching the doorways, and opens his eyes to the Wyrd.

Sera tries as she might, she cannot passed the broken, taped over window. It was distracting, almost if it was preventing her from getting her head in the game.



Perception is your reality and the Leaden King's Clarity is clear. Something snares his Wyrd sense, as they move through the space, riding the spine climbing, nerve chilling wind.

The ash leaves, gleaming, ruby, raucous, red swirl up, snaking up and around landing in the bath. Caressing a bottle of something, the label fancy, minimal and glaringly obvious in this stage of a room.

You cannot hear any confrontation, you are too early in the afternoon, remember Circe and Abe did a fair few actions outside, most of which were extended. Which is my bad, I didn't anticipate this, and I should have split the thread earlier to make everything clear. Moving Circe to Flowers and Flames to correct this.
