The line stretches half a block tonight, the music thumps with a heavy electo-synth rhythm in between the more popular hip-hop dance tracks.
Necklines plunge low, and martini glasses sparkle like stars against a little black dress sky.

Kai stopped by the house to pick up his Bahk Nagks and strap them to his side before heading to Avalon.
As he stepped out of the cab, it looked like it was going to be a busy night. He straightened his tie, buttoned up the top button on his jacket, and walked to the door, walking past him to go inside.
He was no one who could criticize the DJ, but he certainly had beard better music nights. But you had to play to the crowd.
He walked up to the bar and began scoping the place out.
"Cranberry and soda please. Anything interesting happening this early?"

West had gone to Avalon with Kai, but had the cab drop him off a block away to walk the rest of the way. Backup was supposed to fade into the scenery, and he really didn't mind lines. They gave him opportunity to observe, plan, and adjust.

"Looks like we're going to be busy tonight." The bartender responds as he dips under the counter to procure the cranberry juice.
"We've got a few VIPs, business folks a little older. Shouldn't be trouble as long as none of them decide to make it a powder party. But it's still early, so maybe you'll still need to knock some heads." He laughs and slides Kai the drink.

Kai nodded and began scanning the crowd. Frat boys and coked up business men were easy. Well, coked up businessmen might be a problem, depending on how much they had.
But her. No one had caused him so many feelings of disgust and repulsion. He had never seen anything like it.

Ankh had gone home and stayed in her room until she was sure the other two had left. She then dressed herself and grabbed her keys. She did not understand why the two men refused to drive anywhere or even own a car, but she guessed that was just the way they were. She was pretty sure she saved a lot more money just paying for gas then they did taking cabs everywhere.
Ah well, it was their choice.
She pulls into the Avalon parking lot and drives around for a little while trying to find a parking space, but could not. So, she drove a few blocks down and finally found one. She locked the car and began to walk, heading for Avalon.
She figured Kai was wanting to see if that strange woman would come back and she knew he would need back-up. West did not seem all that interested in Kai's obsession, but Ankh didn't care. This problem obviously bothered him and he would not be able to focus his mind fully on anything else until it was solved. So, they may as well jump on his band wagon.
Reaching the line, she sighed and got in. She knew she did not have West with her to help her muddle the mind of the door man, but she was hoping with her aged appearance and her own abilities, she could get by on her own merits.

West cleared his mind and cloaked himself in the haze of Incognito before reaching the doorman. It would keep the man from identifying him later if something happened, and make sure he didn't notice the very slight discrepancy in the way his jacket hung over his pistol.
It would make getting the bartender's attention hard as hell though, and Contagion was going to be a problem, if he needed to keep Casting. Blending in as another faceless patron, West began looking around, periodically following Kai's eyes to see what had his attention.

The bouncer looks two spots down in the line and sees Ankh waiting. He laughs a little, "girl what are you doing waiting in line?"
"You have your ID on you?" He asks, as formality only. Even when it's obvious, the boss gets ticked when he doesn't check.

Kai looks over the bar. He notices a young woman towards the back, and West notices her as well soon after. This is something they're more used to: a whiff of Awakened magic.

West carefully looked at the woman, trying to get a good read on her despite looking through the lens Spatial Awareness rather than Supernal Vision. He split his consciousness, and focused two of the three 'virtual consciousnesses' on her for a couple of seconds. A young woman in a night club? He wondered if it was this 'Gwen' that Ankh mentioned.

As Ankh turns to head inside, an alien discomfort hits her from behind, and then subsides.

West examines the fabric of space around the woman. There do not appear to be any unusual tears or distortions about her, but a whisker thin strand of fate fades from her fingertips. She leans forward engrossed in conversation with a table of others. Where most of the other patrons carry mixed drinks or cocktails, they are sharing a pitcher of dark beer.

Watching the Resonance of her Fate magic begin to dissipate, West examines it, and mentally files her 'signature' away for future reference. Aware that's he's watched her beyond a casual glance, he turns to look at Kai and sees that he's noticed her, too.
West gives a slight shake of his head to let Kai know that he's examined her and there doesn't seem to be anything amiss.
Out of curiosity, he turns back to watch the effect of her will. The laughter in it suggested it was a social enhancer... Suspecting that she, like him, walks the Path of Thistle, he idly tried to remember the last time he had met another Enchanter. Their numbers seemed to be dwindling over the past decade.
Surprising how Shamen and Warlocks seemed to be everywhere, though. No doubt the Mystagogues have someone in a basement somewhere researching that.
(( If West can move closer to overhear them, he will, but if he thinks it will be at all conspicuous, he won't.

Kai looked at the woman. Refreshing that there would be another mage here just in case the object of his disgust showed up. All in all the night seemed to be going well, and the later she showed up, the better.
If she showed up. He continued scanning the crowd. A lone mage that West seemed unconcerned with didn't concern him either.
Another night Davis wasn't here. It was too early to tell if that was a good or bad thing.

Kutya'i arrives at the place Phrymides had told him the others were meeting. The line is fairly long and they said they would have arrived about a half hour ago.

West edges closer, but the volume of the music and conversations make it difficult to hear from anywhere but up close.

Ankh arrives indoors spotting West and Kai, both of whom seem fairly distracted by something going on in the corner.

Kai's eyes sweep the room for trouble, and then after a few minutes he spots her. The same woman as before, walks in through the front door and sits at a booth in the back by herself. She sits patiently, and passively scans the room every so often.

Ankh avoids the bar and moves onto the dance floor. She begins moving with the music, looking like she knows what she's doing. She is dancing in a way that will allow her to blend into the crowd but will also allow her to keep an eye on Kai and West at all possible times. She does not trust them to stay out of trouble.

Kai's arrival at the booth does not seem to surprise the woman. Her blue dress is not nearly as provocative as the last time she had been here. He sees the pulse of living energy and it is dulled in a strange way, almost like a coma patient. The body is alive and functioning, but the living processes that drive her will are ceased. Her aura is dim, but is otherwise indistinguishable from mortal, aside from a strange effect: it is almost as if something else is casting a shadow on her aura, a reflection of another presence that he can't seem to see.
"I think you wanted to speak to me. So, here I am. What do you want to talk about? Because I don't think that you miss me." Her face is expressionless.

As Rune makes his way into the club, he scans the crowd to find the other Mystagogues. For a moment, the back of his mind tugs at him and the periphery of his vision he could have sworn he saw something. A strong presence draws strength from the Watchtower of the Primal Wilds... but he does not make the connection.
He finally spots the others sitting in a corner. It looks like Phrymides, a few of the Mysterium Sleepwalkers and a man he doesn't recognize.
If Rune has any spells up Ankh, West, and Kai may possibly spot him. If Ankh leaves the dance floor, he might sense that there are some very potent spells active in the club.

West let the weave collapse, satisfied. He hated doing that, hell, he didn't even care for Aura Perception, but he'd needed answers... especially with Kai kicking a hornet's nest. Taking the opportunity to let... Tyria?... know there were more Arrows in town, he approached her. They were the last of the Diamonds, and still felt it was only courteous.
"Excuse me, miss? Haven't I seen you at the Museum with the Curator?" he asked, slightly emphasizing the word 'Curator'.

Man, it's Flippin COLD out here, thought Kutya'i, and then he thought about how strange it was that he would only swear when he was in a different shape. It must have been his upbringing or something, cause it just felt weird.
He listened to the other patrons chat amongst themselves, about their lives and the things they wanted and who they wanted and what Becky was doing and did you know about Shawn and I saw an Eagle the other day! He smiled at that last one. It was oddly soothing, in a mindless and petty kind of way. When he got to the bouncer, he tossed some hoodo his way to forestall any problems, not that he expected any.

The monster-woman returns Kai's icy glare.
"Really? And by what authority do you have to demand answers so? And I don't believe that you've told me what you are, so I don't feel very inclined to offer you an answer for the sake of any polite reasons."
"So. We will play a game. You may ask whatever you would like, and you must answer it yourself before you may expect me to. And then maybe we can get along just fine."
Her flesh marionette leans her head in wait for Kai's answer.

West's approach draws the attention of the whole table. The young woman gives him a forced smile. "Back off Guardian. I haven't broken any of the rules, so you don't have any business here. And don't try to bring Dr Primordia into this, you want to ask her something then you can just try to put the balls together to ask her yourself."
The man sitting across from her looks up and regards West intensely. West recognizes him as one of the Kruegans.
"No Phrym, this guy's an Arrow." Kaa says. "One of the guys I was telling you about."

The dance floor quiets down a bit while more patrons pack into the building. Ankh is accosted by a woman giving out free samples of some ridiculously neon drink that comes in plastic tubes.
