The Westfield Shoppingtown Downtown Plaza is a mouthful. But it's got everything you might ever need to buy, just as long as those things are not essential to living needs.
It is a temple to luxury goods.

Ankh wanders around and looks at the clothes. Nothing here really suited her tastes, but she knew she made West uncomfortable. So, she picked up a few pairs of jeans and a few babydoll T's. The jeans were probably tighter then West would like and the babydoll T's showed every curve she had, but it was more conservative then what she had been wearing. Wasn't it?
Why the hell am I trying to make this man that I barely know happy? She thought angrily as she flipped through another rack of jeans. All he has done is treated me like I am five. Like I'm his kid fucking sister.
Abruptly she stopped, and dropped the clothes into an empty cart. No, screw this. I'm wearing what I damn well please. I've been an adult in society since I was fourteen. He is the one who needs to get over whatever problems he has.
She turned and saw a Hot Topic across the way from the store she was in. Steeling her resolve, she briskly walked into the much more fashionable store and began checking out their bondage mini-skirts.

Like most days, hot topic has a small but devoted clientele. A couple of younger kids trying to rebel against their parents, older kids who've come to love the style, and that guy that just likes buying t-shirts with internet memes on them.
They're not used to people as drop dead gorgeous as Ankh though. Not a small number of heads turn as she walks into the establishment.
Ankh's attention however is diverted to a girl in the back, who practically reeks of magick.

Anlh makes her rounds, grabbing varius items and finding some clothes that will make West roll his eyes in aggrivation. Slowly, she makes her way over to the girl.
"Hey, I love that skirt. I think I have one of those in my pile. You have good taste."

"Yea? I'm trying to figure out whether it will go with a leather jacket and my Charlie Brown shirt. It's got... you know, the yellow stripes." The stranger squints as she openly inquires. She holds the skirt up to herself and steps back, maybe with the thought that it will help Ankh make a fair judgment.
Wow, whatever spells this girl has on are sloppy as hell and feel like they might actually be leaking Magick.

Ankh looks at the skirt and frowns. "The shirt will go yes, but I don't know about the leather jacket, to be honesy. Maybe you should try it on with the jacket, then without." She shrugs, not really sure what else to tell the girl. Someone needed to help her with her spells though, or she was going to get snatched by one of the Banishers West had warned her about.
"Hey, um I really like your style. Why don't we check out and then go have lunch?"

A little taken aback, the girl blinks for a moment.
"Yea sure. I think I'm going to pass on the skirt anyway. I never really seem to wear them."
She grabs a band patch for a group that broke up long before she was born, and shells out 5 bucks for it.
"So, I'm Gwenivelle, I guess I don't know you yet. Um, are you holding? Because I'm not. Just so you know."
The spells that she has up are poorly woven, Ankh has no idea how the patchwork magicks manage to even keep working. Some mental energies, interwoven with spatial threads, and some strange life effect that seems to alter hormone levels.
Ankh realizes that the magic this girl has worked does more to get her high than to have any measurably beneficial effect.

"I'm Ankh." She said, giving the girl a sideways glance. She wasn't sure what she meant by asking if she was holding, but did not think asking her here was a very good idea.
"Are you from around here?" She moved up in the line, hoping to get out of here as fast as possible. This girl needed to learn how to stabalize her magick. Ankh was not really sure how to teach her to do that, but she thought West might know. She needed to make sure the girl was not a threat before she did anything else though, hence the offer to go to lunch.

The two walk out of the store and start looking for a place to eat. There's a nearby food court, and a few actual restaurants just outside the mall.
"I've been here probably two years now. It's OK. The music scene sucks pretty hard, but you probably know that already." Gwenivelle lets slip a very strange high pitched honking noice, like the first half-syllable of a snorting laugh. She catches herself, and continues, "Have you ever seen the world sideways? Like, everything you see just turned? It's all there it's just, WHOOP, 90 degrees." She makes a strange motion to indicate what she means, but the gesture makes no sense in the context of anything she's talking about.
"I feel like I'm going to slip off the floor and fall into The Gap." She says quite seriously to Ankh.

Ankh stops and looks at the girl. "I think you neeed to turn off your senses sometimes and get your feet on the ground first, before you try viewing the world sideways." This girl bothered her and disguated her at the same time. Who in the world would use their magick to alter their perceptions so much that they could not function in a normal manner.
"I don't like the food here, it's terrbily unhealthy. Let's go somewhere else so we can discuss the world being sideways, shall we?"
This girl was either going to start talking in a straight line, or Ankh was going to ditch her. She did not deal well with people who refused to deal with reality.

Whoa. Something is very wrong, this girl is clearly not inviting me for some hash.
Gwenivelle stops cold in her tracks. She grudgingly decides that she might need some serious lucidity to deal with this high school girl, who is starting to give off some heavy shades of narc right now.
Magicks drop from her like a discarded shawl, and then the threads dissipate into the tapestry.
"OK stop. Who are you? I don't know you, and you're clearly not some kid looking for a college party so... what's the deal. Because right now the vibe you're giving me is so Cask of Amantillado."

Ankh stopped and ltilted her head, looking at the other girl closely. "Who I am is not appropriate to discuss in this atmosphere. And I have not done a college party ever. I got my degree a year ago, and I have not been back since. So, maybe we should go to a more appropriate place to talk?"

Oh crap. What did I do now. This girl's a lincoln, and one I don't know. This can't be good.

Ankh sighed. She was not going to sit here and talk about how she was a Tyrsus mage striving to become an Arrow in the middle of the damn mall so this girl could get her head out of her ass.
"Ok, maybe lunch wasn't such a good idea. Nevermind. I will see you around. Good luck with your shopping."
Before she walked away, she stepped closer to the girl and whispered. "You need to work on your spells, my dear. They are very loose and sloppy."
Then she stepped away and gave a wave as she started toward the mall exit. "Have a good one."
She left, heading to her car and just wanting to get back home.
