"I'm going to check the cellar," Alastor called out to the others. "Looks clear up here. I'd imagine down there might be a workshop or some such shit." As he moved past Phoenyx, he touched her on the shoulder. "Good job back there. I want to talk tactics later. What do you see?"

The Obrimos stares wide-eyed at the creature, pulling herself up from her simple assessments. She feels her guts twist when she realises the truth.
"This... thing was never human..." she whispers aloud.
Phoenyx looks around as Alastor speaks to her. A ghost of a smile flickers over her face at the approval. "Thanks. And... It's dead. A human shape and blocks of muscle around a metallic frame and pistons. Not sure it was ever a person, definately supernatural." She looks down at the corpse. "Kaze is right. If the threats are dealt with, we should call in the Guardians. I don't know clean-up detail. We'll also need someone with Death insight to tell us just what this thing is." She nudges the flash golem with a foot.

The house does not have a cellar, simply being raised off the ground.
There is a cellar in the old stable / outhouse. Alastor knows this too and he heads there.
Perhaps surprisingly, the outhouse cellar is unlocked and opens easily. A light switch is in easy reach. An uneven and creaking stair leads down into a large space that has been divided into two by a plastic curtain. In the section closest to the entrance there are simply boxes and crates, most of which have been opened.
In the section screened off by the curtain, there is a table with something on it. The plastic opacity of the curtain makes further details much too difficult to discern.
A hand waves. A scrying window opens on the other side of the curtain.
Paranoia from getting bombed once was in full bloom. Alastor wondered internally if the Arrow had a shrink he could see.

Beyond the plastic curtain is a table.
On the table is headless female body. Alastor might recognise the corpse as belonging to the fallen Epitaph.
Beyond the table is a work station with shelves, cabinets and a small fridge. There are pieces of clockwork, strange gears and weird looking electrical things laid out on the work station as if someone was Working on them. There is a chunky ring binder and some loose notes as well.
It would seem he has found what they came for...

With a long sigh, Alastor nodded to himself. Yep. There it was. He hadn't known Epitaph well, but the fact that she'd been used like this... nobody deserved to be made into a monster. He produced his cellular phone and sent Winter a text message with the address and a simple line. Found Epitaph. All clear, but this place needs your review.
The Arrow moved efficiently, checking the area for traps. He didn't see anything, so he moved on to the book and the gears. Obviously, the book had an engineer of some kind attached to it. Before he touched it, he drew a small, imperceptible line in the air out from above the manual, chanting in High as he sought the correspondences between this item and the world. Clearly, its strongest would be to its maker - and that would be the sympathy he needed to duplicate to follow it back and confirm that the engineer of death that had created these monsters was either in custody or destroyed.

Phoenyx follows Alastoralong the landing and into the room. Seeing Epitaph's corpse stops her dead in her tracks. She noticeably balks, staring open-mouthed at the body.
"... wow," she whispers, going distinctly pale.
"This is all very strange. Do we need to pass this to the Mysterium before it gets cleared by the Guardians? We could learn a lot about the things that were going on here." Phoenyx swallows drily and draws her knives.
