Aaron pads over to the entrance while Lina quietly positions herself to best advantage in the thick shadows.
The Daeva sees a large hallway with a beautifully carved staircase leading to a landing. There are a number of empty doorways (with their doors either hanging open or else ruined on the floor) that lead deeper into the house. The fine floor has been littered with rubbish, empty crates, and other scattered hints at squatter occupation.
Lina hears the faint tinkling of glass and the drip of water from somewhere within, the sounds twisted about so she cannot accurately gauge the individual sources of the noise.
The flickering light from the room above is troublesome. Too much light - it blinds. Too many shadows - one cannot see. With effort and patience one might draw some possible conclusions by observing the shadow play. Perhaps the room is occupied. Certainly, someone or something is gutlessly standing by the window and staring out across the lawn.
