After getting back your stuff, the two of you ascend the stairs and get into the house proper. The light coming from outside casts slanted shadows around the room where most of the furniture is covered up with white sheets. Unlike the basement where everything looked used, if bloody, this place seems to have been neglected for a very long time. You can smell dust even without having to breathe. Tracks have been made in the dirt, coming from the hall opposite you and towards the stairs leading down.
Pictures on the walls are mostly of a family: an earnest if somewhat tired man, a blond woman and a girl of about five years. You recognise a much younger Armond in the man after waling by one of the pictures.
Suddenly the surroundings seem much less interesting as faint growling is heard, rapidly approaching. Karl has only the time to say 'Fuck, something woke them' before three large dogs walk into the room. The biggest of the three eyes Karl wearily before turning his head to the Kindred and growling threateningly. Something seems off, though, in the unsure way the dogs start to circle you.
With a Wits + Animal Ken you can realise that the dogs recognise Karl and probably aren't trained to attack people coming out of the basement. Then you can attempt Pre + Animal Ken to calm them down or Pre + Intimidate to scare them. For less obvious options, PM me.
