(Threads of Blood) The Plan

[Ariadne]

The thought of clarifying that she had only seen a teddy bear and not necessarily a child occurs to Ariadne. Her glimpse across Space had been brief and it is possible there was a child there. Which made it all the worse. At the very worst, a few of the Arrows will have less qualms of what has to be done.

"I can combine them quickly, I can't guarantee that it won't be shredded just as fast however." Ariadne replies with a shake of her head. For being so quiet Avis has a Spark and she's a Mastigos...odd.

[Animus]

A silent nod to Leo. Without warning, a ripple of change spreads from the Animus' hands, up through his forarms nearly to the elbow. Where it passes, flesh becomes fur, fingernails elongate into wolf's claws. Surprisingly to some, there is no hint of a Nimbus flare, nor any other indication of spellwork.

Before any can react, he rakes a paw across his own arm, opening a gash. A flare of pain. The heightened awareness of a body honed to danger. Sensations to be welcomed and savored. But just as importantly is the blood, freely given. The essence of life, flowing free as a vessel for the Truth of the Wilds.

For the Shaman, the Supernal was a personal matter. No flashy words or arcane gestures, simply an inner, instinctive on what is and what should be. Many friends' blood, their very lives, had spilled away to water the ground. But not tonight. Tonight they were under his protection, a bond to be written in flesh and blood.

A hiss as the Abyss floods the spell. In desperation the Thyrsus snags at it, pulling the taint into his own body. A network of scratches and shallow cuts blossom across his skin, as if he had been dragged through thorns. The sudden rush leaves him visibly shaken and nearly disrupts his crafting, but the shock to his system he is able to salvage the work.

Finally, the Shaman looks up, not-quite-focused eyes seeming to look just past the others present. "It's done." By now the only sign of what had once been a wolf's paws are the few stray flecks of crusted blood caught under his fingernails.

[Ermon]

Ermon is simply stunned by Avis' reaction. He waits until they have time while Animus is casting, though, to reply. It doesn't look like the man is intimidated, more like... puzzled:

"Hey, I didn't know they had a kid. And I'm just asking - not much of a strategist or fighter, myself, y'know", - a short pause and a direct gaze, - "But try to keep a cool head, ok? Or that zen-like cold rage you read about? Because throwing yourself at them could turn out bad".

Somehow he feels he's not gaining many new friends here... Like an elephant in a china store. More lean and handsome, sure, but just as clumsy.

[Avis]

It was a strange sensation, feeling someone weaving so many threads through her pattern. Her limbs almost felt heavier now, but she was having no trouble moving. The shakes had died down, even. Was it just a trick of the mind, a self fabricated illusion, or was it a symptom of the mind adjusting to the changes that had been wrought to its vessel?

It didn't matter. The spells would help keep her alive, keep them all alive until they could bring death to Obsidian and Ripper. Justice would have to wait.

The sound of Ermon's voice jogged Avis' attention back toward him and she held his gaze while he spoke. A shallow nod was her reply. It was better than just ignoring him, but obviously she didn't think much of his suggestion. She wasn't suggesting that they act stupid, just that they didn't waste anymore fucking time. Because that would be stupid.

[Ariadne]

Ariadne takes a breath and pulls on the Supernal once more.

Having no natural capacity for holding all this stuff in was going to suck so bad for Ermon it almost made his head hurt just thinking about it. He was taking measures, sure, but building physical resilience took time... And it wasn't something they had at the moment.
