She was frustrated. Annoyed. Running out of patience with the situation. And damnit this wasn't going to help things to be productive... Closing her eyes for a moment, she indulged herself in a spell to keep her focused and positive with regards to the situation. Just a little something to get through this sensibly. As the Emotional Urging took effect, she sighed a little and looked up to Leah Penderson.

"There are a lot of people at risk, and if this person figures out that he's been seen by enough people, the ones who will suffer the most are the children if we can't get this quickly under control. We all want the same thing, Ms. Penderson, as I said before. We want the danger off the streets, we want to make sure whatever technology he's used to cause this is out of his reach, and we want to see justice done.

"The sooner we can all get this settled, the sooner we can just... get out of your hair, and get this taken care of. The sooner we can get a dangerous man off the streets - and his dangerous technology."

He was a little surprised when Lycus followed. Nous was gonna flip out. Lotta chiefs, yo.

Squinting in the sun, he bemoaned his lost sunglasses. Still? Worth it. A hand shaded his eye as he looked around.

"Uh. You know. I bet."

The words came out slowly as he tried to gauge the progress on the roof. One pinkie broke away from his hand visor to point.

"Hmmmm. If those roofers were up there when this went down? They probably had an amazing view. Totally."

Thankfully perhaps, Nous is too busy to flip out about someone she believes to be a whiny anchor leaving the tense situation presumably exacerbated by his presence. Perhaps she's too concerned with keeping the train that's carrying the group of them on the rails that his exit for the dining car doesn't bother her.

That or she's just just distracted by the knowledge that there's a gun pointing at her through the door.

She mutes her phone to give her the ability to murmur some supernal assistance in making this just work. She was ready for cards on the table time. Even if she was still going to be lying about quite a few cards, she wanted all of their cards on the table. She unmutes her phone.

"Yeah, just let me in so that we can talk about Tommy and we can get this all sorted out. I'm sick of standing in the hallway letting all your neighbors listen into this conversation."

She's not exactly silver tongued today, and while the content of her message is there, she's left the tact outside with Shaniqua apparently. She sighs audibly and leans up against the doorframe.

The phone clicked pointedly off as Mandy inclined her head politely and dropped the spell she'd been holding on the pair as she headed to the door. A part of her hoped that they'd show some confusion at the situation and ask her something to keep her there, but she wasn't about to incur the potential wrath of the very armed Sleepers. Especially not while she was entirely alone.

There was very little that could be said, her expression calm under the effects of her own Emotional Urging, but in her head she could feel the tell-tale signs of frustration and anger prodding their way around. First Autolycus and then Nous, as well... this was precisely what came of her relying on anyone else. Had she been left alone, this would have been fine, things would have been dealt with and all would be well. But, of course, she had to deal with the meddling of others, as well.

The phone clicks off and she lightly bangs her head against the wall. This whole mission is fucked. Just royally. She knew as soon as she'd said anything that her Pride had gotten the best of her. Granted, Mandy was the lone wolf that doesn't trust. At least Nous didn't trust the sleeper marks that they needed to keep quiet. She's just going to keep telling herself that it's the sleepers she doesn't trust and that she actually trusts Mandy.

She's really bad at lying to herself.

They need to regroup and find Tommy Burns. That's the kid that saw it, so why are those two posting on message boards like they know what's going down. Those cops were lying about something and not doing a good job about it.

Yeah, time to regroup and then figure out who they were scaring the shit out of further. Did she sort of wish that she could just follow her intuition and take care of it? It was so much cleaner.

Lycus' jaw was set, he didn't know exactly what happened, but he was confident that something did happen. The chances of him having a brain tumor that suddenly starts giving him blackouts weren't, in his mind, likely. He could check for that later though.

He nods at Cut's idea. If the cops were a bust like they looked to be, this was as good a lead as any. Lycus gestures for Cut to take the lead. "Lay on, Macduff. I'll back you up."

One of the first things about being back up was keeping your eyes open.

As she unlocked and unlatched the door, she made her way into the hallway and closed it quietly behind her, but the expression she laid on Nous was unimpressed. "I was seconds from getting a description of mister lightning hands from them before you felt the need to put them entirely on edge," she stated quietly, but not terribly sharply to the woman. Emotional Urging was a blessing in this case. Waving her away from the door and towards the stairwell, Zodiac slipped in and crossed her arms, waiting for Nous to join her before continuing.

"They saw something they couldn't explain and it scared the hell out of them," Zoey explained absently, "but they're a pair of very perceptive officers, and they were running low enough on trust with their kid being in there." Leaning against a wall, the woman looked contemplative. "I imagine the hot-head is going to be a little choked when he figures out what happened, but there was no way in hell I was going to just give him my name and..." Oh... right, the Imposter was still in place. "Well, and I don't look like me, so I couldn't just hand over ID, either," she added.

"Not sure if he threw a fit because they wanted his name, or because a Guardian chose to protect her name," she rolled her eyes, "but he promptly decided to storm off, so I'm sure he's pretty confused now. I imagine they'll be in a similar state of confusion shortly," Zoey sighed a bit, rubbing at her temples. This whole bit was going to hell. "They aren't going to remember much of what we discussed after a certain point, but I do think they've got a flicker of doubt as to the 'magical' nature of the situation. Never thought I'd say it, but thank goodness for Iron Man."
