It is worth noting that anyone without knowledge of Animalism will have to succeed in an Intelligence + Occult roll at -5 to know that Leashing the Beast is even possible. Having knowledge of the Discipline reduces the penalty. Essentially, it is -1 for each degree the character is removed from the power (an Anim3 user will only be at -2). Since it is a Common Discipline, there is no additional penalty for the Disc being out of Clan or out of Covenant.
Failure indicates that you have never heard of Kindred shushing another's Beast in the way Dillon just did
