I made a booboo!

The resistance to Leashing the Beast when used upon another is Reflexive, and thus mandatory. Thus, Dillon has to spend another Vitae to continue trying when Joslyn automatically resists his less than perfect first attempt :P

Due to Scelesta's current posting difficulties, and the extent of time that Court is dragging out, I executed ST powerz to wrap up the rolls quickly. Everyone please continue, and try to conclude within the next day or so!

It is worth noting that anyone without knowledge of Animalism will have to succeed in an Intelligence + Occult roll at -5 to know that Leashing the Beast is even possible. Having knowledge of the Discipline reduces the penalty. Essentially, it is -1 for each degree the character is removed from the power (an Anim3 user will only be at -2). Since it is a Common Discipline, there is no additional penalty for the Disc being out of Clan or out of Covenant.

Failure indicates that you have never heard of Kindred shushing another's Beast in the way Dillon just did

Claire smirks at the familiar trick the Reeve employs on the reticent young Kindred. She is, however, happy to see that no further struggle is necessary.

Roderick raised an eyebrow at what the Reeve was doing, the absurdity of it let his tongue run loose. "If that doesn't work, why don't you roll up some newspaper and pop her on the nose." He couldn't help but to feel like he was dealing with one of those types like the West Point boys.

Dillon's not particularly sure if he wants to laugh at Roderick's joke, or punch him in the mouth. Maybe both.

While he can hardly criticize someone for having a flippant tongue that expresses dark humor in a possibly inappropriate situation-- that would be quite the hypocrisy given his own cheek-- it's weird coming from the man who was trying to protect Joslyn from further embarrassing herself. You'd think that quelling her own Beast for her, ceasing her frenzy predatory dominance rather than violence, would incite a more respectful reaction. Since many Kindred run to the Dragons just to control themselves, having such control over others might even incite awe.

That's gratitude for you.

He's being wholly unfair in his mind, and he knows it. Dillon neither requires or desires quaking fear from others. He much prefers that people feel comfortable enough around him to crack a joke, from time to time. But pride in his accomplishment being what it is, the Reeve is struck with a desire to show the other side of the coin.

If he can end a Kindred's frenzy, he can start one as well.

Send people running for a rock to hide under with one dead-eyed stare.

It's just the deflation of having months of excruciating effort reduced to one pithy remark that makes Dillon want to break something.

Oh well.

Martha had intended to make an announcement, if he recalls correctly. She'll be needing to do that before the other members of the Domain begin to filter out of Commons.
