While many attendees were chatting amongst each other, and others were getting drinks at the bar, music suddenly began to play in the room. It was a masquerade ball after all, so the fact the sounds of a waltz had suddenly manifested within the walls of the room should come as no surprise to anyone. Obviously, no one was forced to engage in the dancing, nor where they all expected to do so. But as things go, there would certainly be some guests who did choose to partake in some dancing...and the music certainly facilitated that.

As he watches the Fool make his way to the dancing area with the woman he had been chatting with first, Locke nevertheless is prompted to laughter by her remark. His great barrel chest shakes with it.
"I look forward to it, then."
She is probably well out of earshot when he speaks, and he is not exactly calling out after her. The words are as close to the definition of 'under his breath' as words by Warren Locke ever are.
Taking his opportunity when drinks arrive, to look away from their performance, the Ogre lifts his mask enough to toss back the drink in one gulp. And orders a neat double scotch afterwards.
Mixing different whiskeys might be a bad idea, but he can already tell that he is going to need some loosening up.

She tap-tap-tapped her way around the blue hall. People were starting to dance, and she felt as lost as she had been when she first stepped into the winter wonderland. Except she knew that it was definitely a bunch of Arcadia’s Victims in masks.
That was a comforting thought.~
She still didn’t know who was in charge, if there was anyone who could point her in a correct direction. Or if she should just ‘try to enjoy herself and not worry about all of the introductions’. Maybe people didn’t understand that she had to find someone to talk to, or she wouldn’t know how to react.
At this point she didn’t care who.
Serreth continued to watch as he often did at social affairs. He remained at the bar making theories of who could be who based on their behavious, ways of speaking. Of course it was all logic theory to the huge Elemental, his intuitive connection to humanity dampened by his long years in Arcadia.
It wasn't all bad though, Serreth generally understood logic better than emotion. Cause and effect made a lot more sense...

Stripes lets his head bob a bit in time to the music. He takes a sip of water, letting the classical ballroom dance music calm him. Seems there was some truth to music and savage beasts thereof.
There was another stranger in a mask wandering about he noticed. Of course, everyone was a stranger in a mask tonight. If Danny was right that was supposed to be part of the fun.
He waves his glass to the wandering girl ( Nova ) and motions to the bar stool next to him. She doesn't have a partner on the dance floor, so maybe she's just looking for a seat? It certainly couldn't hurt for the young beast to try and be polite.

Green, his glass empty, was in the process of turning back to the bar. He caught sight of the distinctive woman he remembered waving to when he first entered. She appeared to wandering in a state of confusion. Heck, she looks lost! The thought hung in his mind and touched the mountain in an unexpected way. He remembered the confusion of his first weeks and months back from beyond; something about her attitude cut through his rocky exterior.
Green turned and gestured invitingly. He was at the bar. Plenty of space at the bar. And booze. The bar was a sanctuary. You could hide in plain sight at the bar.

Nova noticed the wave, and some sort of relief flickered across her face.
Maybe he could help me.
She stepped up to the bar in her pink and purple kimono and took the seat next to the masked man ( @Aunbite25 ). At least this one wasn’t made of faces...she hoped.
“Hi...you don't mind, right?” She hoped this wouldn’t be another instance of unhelpfulness.

The lost looking girl comes over, and Stripes smiles at her. It's a bit more welcoming than it might usually look, giving his feline fangs are hidden under his hardened mask.
"Looked like you needed somewhere to sit," he says as she sits down. "You enjoying the party?"
Stripes takes a moment to look over the girl's dress. It's certainly an interesting design, even if he doesn't know a thing about fashion himself.
