Back to the Bismark: Repeat or develop?

The gentle bubbling chuckle comes again. "On the contrary you should know quite a bit about what I like and dislike, where I have been and where I won't go. If you had been listening that is." It wasn't actively mocking her, not by it's town, which remains utterly conversational if a little playful. "You should know where I have friends and where I don't. My station and position in all of this." The bismark? the courts? both? it does not clarify. "And if you were really going for it, you already know what I have gotten from this most delightful conversation with you." How it expects her to know that seems a little wild, but it did seem to think she might have missed that.

On this point it continues to be a little confused. "Well of course it is you learn to improve yourself, then you wan to improve something else so you learn again. But the learning remains the medium, the method to the goals." Not seeing eye to eye, but hey it was unlikely she would with every or even the majority of spirits they were not human not matter what veneer of pretense some of them might put up. They did not think, operate, reason or rationalize like humans did.

The spirit filters back to the default inaudible buzz of conversation. "Lesser gafflings of course. I said you know some then, you said you had gone to some. But earlier you asked what they were and well now I'm all of a tizzy wondering if you knew the entire time and were simply pretending not to know. Because to go to some you have to know what they are after all." It seems to think it has found sound contradiction in he claims, or they are talking in past each other regardless it seems more excited then annoyed or frustrated. "If you knew what they wanted so easily then yes they were lesser alright, simple and easy you'll have a harder time with anything stronger." So gaffling was a measure of strength among spirits if context is to be applied here, If context can be be applied here. "What it is humans like to say, nothing worth having comes easy. That much is true for spirits to, you need to work hard to get what your after, working sideways, upside down and odd angles sometimes." That surely had to me a metaphor for something.

A single nod, “I know about that when it comes to here, in the building. But surely there are more exciting places than here. I know you won’t go in the basement, and I don’t blame you there, I don’t like it down there either. And you dislike it, like I do.” Another nod, “But that is if I was really going for it, expecting and assuming a lot.” But she’ll let her have that assumption if she wants it.

“Methods can change, depending on what one wants to learn. Some subjects require different methods to learn efficiently. If I want to learn a new language, I use a book. If I want to learn a new trick for a show, I practice and train my body. But we all have our ways to learn, and my ways don’t work as well for everyone. I’m sure you have your ways that work great for you.”

Nodding once again, “I have opened myself up to speaking to them, yes. But I have let them come to me if they were open to talking. We could simply use different terms for them. I put the call out, and wait, see if anyone has the time to talk to me. If they do, I appreciate it, of course, and we talk. “I asked them what they wanted in exchange for what I wanted to know, simply laying my cards on the table before any information was shared. If what they wanted wasn’t worth what I wanted, I simply said no thank you and that was that. There is always a price for information, and knowledge.” Which she was well aware of. “I have never said I wasn’t willing to work hard to get what I want; it’s gotten to this far. Now I just have to find my way, and the knowledge to get me to where I want to be next. A bit of an uphill climb, but nothing I haven’t done before. Hard work is fun and makes life interesting.”

The content burbling on background chatter contains. "Well I am no spirit of the air, or of the rain or any vehicle so where else would you expect to find if not where I would be?" Oh spirits do travel that is never in doubt or question, but that this seems to be hinting it does not, could be another clue as to it's nature.

Seemingly rather stuck in its views here, bringing into question how much capacity does this thing have to learn, it clearly it is not powerful to eat the Morning rush, duke of the court of the grey tower yet, else it would have done so in the intervening years, so can Aurora take what it says about simplicity begin tied to power and make any deductions? "How ever you go about the method is always learning, the form changes, the act is the same, the goal likewise stays the same, self improvement, simply the form changes again." Or is what spirits consider change and the same causing a degree of miscommunication?

The sound of conversation rises in volume, almost a little excitedly. "Well of course someone will want to talk, even nasty vile and disgusting spirits want to talk now and then. There is plenty to be gained from that side of things." Not technically true, some spirits don't want to talk, some harbor resentment others might yes wish to talk but are of ill intent. "But now how much experience do you have with those who take what they are after, or force your hand, or well are more then simple masses of impulse?" Some spirits were truly ancient, complex, or representative of significant things and far surpassed human capabilities.

With 1 day to go are we good to wrap this plot for now, so Aurora can go about doing any prep work and research she wants to do?

Another quick jot down in her notebook, “Oh there are other ways to travel are there not? Others ways to get from here to there.” More notes about the spirit were added to her notebook so she could remember them later. The questions were not ones she could answer here and now.

The Shaman nods as she listens. “I think it would be intriguing to come visit you and talk on your level some time. Speak more openly.” Was the blonde talking about stepping over? Maybe. She could do it, easily. Has she done it? Not really, she’s peered, she’s looked. But taking that step, alone, was dangerous, even for someone of her level. But it would be interesting to talk to a Spirit more openly, without having to choose her words.

A slight chuckle, “I have experience doing what I have to do when I have to do it.” The notebook was closed.

“I have to thank you for talking with me today, I greatly enjoyed it. Our conversations are always enjoyable.”

The background conversation quietens a little almost as if the sprint were deep in thought. "Oh I suppose there must be be mustn't there but well do you think me a spirit of any of those things? learned in any of those ways?" Is it admitting, or covering up a slip? Trying to mislead? conversing with a thing that has no discernible facial features or body language, and whose mind and thoughts are inhuman can cause a great deal to be harder then it might otherwise be.

But now the bubbling sounds of curiosity stem up again. "Oh yes you should, it's much better over this side, safer away from all of that, less demanding, more structured. Really I don't know why you spend so much time on the wrong side." One thing could be sure and certain though, a spirit wanting a human to cross over into the shadow realm, that was never proposed or agreed to without some kind of plan, ambition or motive.

The notebook closing signals the end of their time. "Well you did say you would come back and you did. Please do again any time it was ever so rewarding." And with that the sound of background conversation fades away the spirit had moved on or stopped looking across maybe. And Aurora is quite free to get up and leave the Bismark as it is for the time being, not stopped or harassed by any of the shoppers, residents or guards.
