    Continued from Duel school: round two!...


    Stepping off to put some distance between themselves and and the duelling shamans Chambers begins to pace the square chanting in high speech as he seeks the iamgo, pulling it down into the fallen world with through his tower. His will reinforced with the ancient fragments of Atlantean. language.

    The mana blazing gold, released from his pattern to make the magic reality creating the space where mages could duel limited only by their arcana and imaginations. "When you are ready step forward and invoke the contest of wills." Said to both contestants.

    Contest of wills Presence + Intimidation or his Manipulation + Subterfuge (whichever tactic is preferred) is rolled for the mage with the highest Initiative. The opponent’s Composure is subtracted from the roll. Then the defender does the same, making his taunts or threats, with the other mage’s Composure subtracted from his roll. Whoever gets the most successes unnerves his foe, and a +1 die bonus is gained on all further rolls in the duel. If neither mage rolls any successes, or they have the same number, neither side gains an advantage. The loser of this contest gets first move in the duel, if it is a tie we roll initiative to work out order of resolution.

    Nimbus:
    A flowering of wildflowers accompanied by their scent and the sounds of a calm wind dancing over the sea. The more vulgar the spells, the meaner the magic the stronger the winds, the flowers blooming only to quickly decay and spread the scent of death with them.
    Appearance

    Standing 152.4cm tall, her hair color changing on a regular basis, usually braided but not always.

    Her body seemingly quite petite and small but upon closer inspection so is it unexpectedly sturdy, her left arm well trained with more defining muscles than her right arm.

    Rarely seen without an armguard and archer glove on her left hand.

    Each and every movement always precise, rarely if ever wasting any more effort than needed to achieve her desired result.

    The warmth of a campfire, shadows softening at their edges, the smell of woodsmoke in the air.

    When vulgar, it's the heat of a pyre, the air darkening with ash, the smell of burning flesh.

    And just like that it was time for practical application. There was a moment of panic and a sudden wish that she had asked more questions. But the circle was squared and Skye was already stepping forward.

    Watching the magic visualize around Skye, she stepped in and pulled forth her own armor and sword. A cloak of black coming to surround her, cowl hooding her face, a faintly translucent skull mask settling over her face. In her hand a heavy cudgel of stone.

    Each mage steps forward, Skye seemingly eagerly, Witch maybe a little more hesitantly. Both mages calling on their superior arcana for shields but Sky's sword was a surprise and curious choice. Honestly the Sharman's entire set of manifestations would have taken him a little of guard. That might also be because he was far more accustomed to the death like countenance Witch had taken on. Both stood impressive.

    "Okay good. As this a practice duel seconds have not been involved and their is no duelling oath to swear." Those might come in a future lesson. These first few were just for the basics of etiquette, form and a little hands on experience. "I shall be serving as the independent judge." That was self explanatory. "Now begin the contest of wills to determine who has the advantage and who has the first move." Slow and steady was fine it meant each step got its time. "After the contest of wills resolves it is the final chance to back out of the duel and concede." He had never seen that happen but it was an honoured rule.
