Circle of creation

The Circle of Creation is the gathering hub for all Pentacle mages in the Sacramento Concilium, with chapter houses for all five Orders inside.

Located east of Sacramento and far outside the prying eyes of the inner city, the Circle of Creation awaits the mages of Sacramento. Despite being a replica of the Westminster Abbey, the sleepers who come by never seem to notice it. The wards built into the structure have made sure of this. To all but the Pentacle the Circle is essentially invisible, ensuring the safety of those who enter and engage with one another. Whether it had always been here for the Awakened was hard to say now, but it was the site that the Awakened gather to mingle and discuss official matters.



It is a time for simply for mingling among the Awakened. The common area is large and open, but over the course of the month it's inevitable that people may bump into each other. The official concerns of the Consilium are put on hold as a more lighthearted experience is shared among this community of the Wise. Ultimately, this is the opportunity to let the proverbial hair down. How much so is up to them.

Also a reminder, Sanctuary threads are not official Consilium threads. Those under an incarceration sentence may not attend a Sanctuary thread.



Sancturary is not a single event, or formal Consilium. It's a compression of time to represent the comings, goings, and intersections of Awakened throughout the month at the Cirlce.

[Thirteen]

From out of the Free Council meeting hall came the most recent addition to the Consilium, and it looks like she's been busy. Dressed in blue jeans, black sneakers and an old white tee shirt (smudged with dust and grime), with yellow rubber gloves and a blue kerchief worn over her nose and mouth. That mass of red curls is tied back and upon her head is a pair of black headphones (with cat ears). In one hand, a broom. The other, a white plastic garbage bag, full and being dragged behind her.

Thirteen's head bopped along to whatever music she was listening to on those headphones. She deposited the trash bag next to a small pile of two others, then set the broom aside and took a moment to stretch her back. Whatever spring cleaning she's been doing, the Acanthus has clearly been at it for a while and was now taking a break.

[Chambers]

Adorned in a grey three piece suit, cotton, not wool for the warming days. The Moros councillor strides quietly into the circle of creation, no matter how many times it still awes him a little that such a thing exists. Heading up to the corkboard not to much needs to be done today but the notices are tided up added, taken down, replaced with fresher copies if needed.

Only when that duty is taken care of does he look around proper and notice he was not alone. "I see you've been hard at it." the piles of rubbish and cleaning supplies ell remembered. "Are you being put to work, or putting them to shame?" Because there had been libertines here in one form or another consistency for a few years now and if it still needed three bags worth of rubbish then well. Then good on her for getting her hands dirty and stepping up.

By the time Chambers entered the common area, the Enchanter was sitting down on a convenient seat. The kerchief was pulled down off her face, and her eyes had been closed, as she just chilled and listened to her music. One foot tapped along to the beat. Noticing the Necromancer's arrival, she pulled the headphones down. Faintly, the sounds of 'Into the Fire' by Dokken could be heard. She pulled her phone out and paused the song.

"The latter. It's a damn embarrassment in there. Nothing but cobwebs, dust and trash. I'm not even done yet. Windows still need cleaning, light bulbs need replacing, so on. How'd they let it get so bad?" Thirteen seemed annoyed by it, obviously, but also confused. There are two other Libertines here before her and they'd done nothing to clean up their Order's chambers?

Her hands idly turned her phone over and over as she glanced at the corkboard. "New announcements?"

[Aurora]

Another month, another meeting. Less formal, so all the better. But still required throwing something together and showing up.

So in walks the Shaman, jeans and a white shirt over which she has an oversized blazer on. Maybe one she found in a second-hand shop, maybe one she borrowed from a date. Which ever it was, she wasn’t saying but it made the outfit work for her.

Coffee in hand, she walks up to the two she currently sees, there could be others, in their Order wings, doing Order things.

“Hello.” Sip. “How are you both doing?” pausing for a smile to both before looking to the cork-board, another sip.

[Chambers]

A sympathetic smile forms as the new libertine states her business. "Been there, What I for lack of a better term inherited was left in far from an ideal state." Granted there had been no mystagogues in he city when he arrived. "Good job though." And he meant it taking on responsibility others didn't want to shoulder was always demanding and should be recognised. A glance to the board. "Nothing to exciting, we have an official meeting next month, I usually put up the Agenda but a few things need to finish shaking out and I need to see where they fall first." Drifting off. "It's going to be a busy month." Lapsing into contemplation.

Which is broken by the arrival of Aurora. Looking up. "Aurora, good to see you." Speaking of reliable mages. "Well enough thank you, and yourself how are things?" Returning the greeting.

"Hey," she nodded to Aurora's arrival as she removed her yellow rubber gloves, "Just taking five from my spring cleaning." She tossed the gloves atop the nearby pile of garbage bags and proceeded to examine her fingernails. They were painted black, but some time ago. The polish was chipped in places. "Yourself?"

Looking back to Chambers, the Acanthus' red eyebrows rose up amid the sea of freckles, "A common occurrence, eh?" She felt better knowing it hadn't just been a Free Council issue. Less embarrassing that way. She shrugged nonchalantly at the praise, though. She wasn't doing it for anyone's approval.

An official Consilium meeting caught her attention. That'd be an interesting sight. Thirteen made a mental note to attend and witness what kind of mess things were in.

She glanced at the corkboard, then looked somewhat uncomfortable. "Yeah, um, sorry to hear about your mates," she referenced the posting about the recent Awakened deaths. The Libertine wasn't practiced at being sympathetic, but she tried. "Can't say I knew them. Only met Corn that one time, and he seemed... uh, distracted." The last informal meeting here in the Circle. "Know anything about what happened? What're you doing about this Phoenyx lass in jail?" Another face she'd not yet seen.

[Aurora]

Light shrug of a shoulder, “Oh, about as well as they can be. Still chipping away at a few things, nothing too exciting to report yet I’m afraid. And yourself? Staying out of trouble?” she liked gently teasing him here and there, keeping the mood light. “But I was hoping to setup a time to get together with you to go over the Charter and get the ball moving again.” That was important.

Glancing to the gloves and the garbage bags, “That’s some hell of a spring cleaning. If I had known, I would have brought some home brewed beer for you. Nothing like an ice-cold beer in between breaks from cleaning in my opinion.” Pausing, “Well, if you drink beer of course.” Drinking her coffee, “Just thought I’d drop by and see if there was anything going on. Always good to drop by and see if there are any new faces or anything that needs to be taken care of.” You know, the things she was supposed to do as Councilor and all that.

The mention of Corns death wasn’t met with, well, anything. She had a different outlook on death and didn’t want to offend or upset. So sometimes staying quiet was the best thing to do.

“I’m not sure about Phoenyx. Do we know why she was arrested? I’m not too up to date on Sleeper laws, so not sure what we can do without more of the facts surrounding the whole thing. If she needs a lawyer, I’d be willing to chip in, but again, I’d like to know what happened.” Was this breaking Sleeper laws?

[Chambers]

Far to common really. "It would seem it may well be." Casting a glance around the circle. "Few Consilia can say they have a place like this to meet." A slow shake of the head. "You would have thought it would be better taken care of." The missing lock had never been far from his thoughts. But as with all things the ways and means to a solution had presented themselves in an unexpected way.

The Moros' attention is drawn to the notice. "Corn was a troubled man, reaping the consequences of his choices." How many times had he been warned. "Philip was." A momentary pause noticeable by the observant. "Your former councillor Thirteen, it explains why he was not able to meet you." What were they doing? "The duty has fallen on Cavendish for the time being but ultimately is up to the two of you if that arrangement is satisfactory." If she wanted to chase the ladder down and get the mattered sorted between them then by all means. "I know a little, I plan to know more. And depending how this." Tapping the councillor meeting announcement. "Pans out might be able to start doing something about it." As for the arrow. "What am I doing about a mage locked away in a sleeper prison, under continuous watch, guard and surrounded by sleepers." Wat was there to do. "At the moment trying to work out exactly what can be done. If she behaves she'll be out sooner then I can get papers through the courts. And whatever I do must adhere to sleeper law we don't need the attention a prison break will bring." He keeps the darker thoughts and worse case possibilities to himself. We have no idea beyond the paper that it really is her.

Aurora light hearted tease is actually a welcome reprieve from the weighty matters. "When do I get into trouble?" He jests back. "No it's trouble that seems to be finding us at the moment." Or more precise being caused by others and in need of clean up more substantial then some gloves and bin bags would handle. "On that front again I want to wait on the meeting out come depending how it falls we may have a charter introduced at the official meeting next month." That was the plan anyway. But plans and reality so rarely co-existed as desired.

Back to weighty matters then. "The paper said trespass, facing a sentence of sixteen months, probabaly half for good behaviour." A shake of the head. "That time has passed a lawyer would have been assigned at the court sentencing. She was arrested on site from what I can tell it would have been open and shut." No way around it. "The main part of the article was devoted to the over a dozen dead and several more injured at the sewage plant that night, if any of that gets stuck to her she will be in trouble." That would prove very difficult and very public. "Corn and Philip were also arrested there that night. They must have made bail because within the week both are in the papers again, dead in highly unusually circumstances" Corn strangled by his own wife at a hospital with another body in the room and Philip dead in a house explosion of all things. "It might be prison is a safer place then most for her right now." His mouth sets a grim line. "I just don't know yet." But he would.

"Place this size could probably use a full time maid staff," she half-joked, eyes still on her fingernails. The Enchanter did look up, however, at the topic of Acanthus Councilors. "Oh. I see." Had this Philip been dead that entire time? That was... disturbing. "Never seen this Cavendish bloke. Think I got his number off the board. I'll have to give him a ring."

Admittedly, she had wondered if there was some sort of jailbreak being planned, but obviously not. A little disappointing, but understandable. "Trespass? Is that it? I'm no expert on American laws, but I didn't realize that was such a serious crime. Sixteen months for walking on someone's lawn? I thought it'd be a fine." Then came the information about numerous deaths, "Sewage plant? Is that where she was caught? Did all the bodies make it worse for her?" The circumstances of Corn and Philip's deaths only made everything sound conspiratorial. "Long as she don't get shanked, aye. I assume she can handle herself in a prison fight, yeah? Sounds like someone is trying to clean up loose ends."

Turning back to a lighter topic, she gave Aurora a light smile, "Ah, don't trouble yourself none. Though I wouldn't say no to the beer. You brew your own?"
