Joyeuse was in rare form as they finally entered the central space of the Circle where the others had gathered.

Gone was the usual suit of the Theurge, instead replaced with black tanktop and a pair of gray jogger sweatpants. The Obrimos was also barefoot. Finally, they wore no makeup, their androgynous features laid bare as they beheld their peers.

The attire and the remnants of sweat made it clear Joyeuse had been training.

    "Afternoon, everyone,"
they say, "All is well, I presume?"

    Woah. Full conversation going.

She tried to respond to those who had said something without interrupting. And whilst trying to catch up to the topic at hand.

Aurora "I'm alright- yourself?" Skye A grin, a touch to the mentioned article of clothing, "Thank you." Chambers "So it seems. And yes, I can't complain. Yourself?"

As they made their presence known, the Obrimos Councilor got a nod and smile as was befitting. Winter`s silence was also acknowledged. Apparently, he had nothing more to say for the time being.

And while he didn`t really join Chambers` brief discussions, if one could call them that, Aurora, however, did have some very interesting things to say about the Lex. And he listened intently from one who no doubt knew what she was talking about. It was what he`d been afraid of, after all, despite not being privy to all the legalese nor being able to put it half as eloquently as she did. So, her words were acknowledged with a terse, deadpan nod. Meanwhile, Corn`s words about oaths got an internal sigh. It wasn`t because of his disbelief in his own word that he was asking for such severe sanctions. But if the previous Consilium had made one thing painfully clear, it was that Corn`s word was the one that wasn`t worth very much. And Philip was seeing he was already at it, trying to get further concessions from him and twisting partially what Corn himself had said earlier. Nothing more needed be said for the moment. Well, except that he didn`t really know what in Aurora`s context counted as a `Greater` or `Minor` oath. Was it `just` the public nature, or was it something more?
"Ok. So sanction is to be decided by the council but banishment is not off the table given the seriousness of this deal? And, I take it with the True Name of Corn`s child being among the terms, this counts as `greater`, if we swear it in public like this? Is the distinction whether it`s sworn before witnesses or not? And does swearing a greater oath like this involve the true names of both parties as well?"
he asked, being well-versed in oaths as an Acanthus, but not so much in legal tradition behind the solemn word and oaths between Awakened to settle such disputes and deals. He did know, however, that he could use Fate to get out most easily enough, though. Not that that would matter in front of other Awakened witnesses like this was shaping up to be. So he turned to Aurora, who seemed to be the expert in those matters.
"I assume it does not, because I would not agree to that."
But Corn`s further terms got a frown.
"I don`t think I can accomodate you with this as much as I`d like to. I just wouldn`t know how to get you the details on the conditions you desire, assuming there are any, Although I might be able to determine if there are conditions placed on him at all, but not further details. I`ll ask Fate the question that was suggested, as well as what`s realistically possible for me regarding possible conditions on your son besides. But I can`t and won`t make promises about what Fate chooses to reveal to us. That`s the best I can do.”
He paused, hoping his rational arguments could convince Corn.
”As for the duration. No, you did not say indefinite. But your earlier statement did seem formulated in such a way that it was not ruled out either. So, please try hard. Because if you won`t do indefinite, I`d ask you to give me a month`s duration per item from the time I receive it, with the exceptions I mentioned."
he said, knowing that the caveat `from the time I receive it`, might bite Corn in the backside, if he went with less than indefinite and for some reason the exchange didn`t or couldn`t take place until weeks or months had elapsed. But he didn`t let that thought sink into anyone`s except his own mind as he immediately continued.
"But ok, If it`s a real emergency you can call me and end one of the max two at the same time, if we both agree. Meaning, it has to be acceptable to me. I don`t want half-measures, no offense. After all, the info I`d be giving you would likely be good for quite a while, so indefinite seemed an otherwise reasonable trade to me. But ok. Anyway, as for your `guarantee`, it seems you`ll guarantee whatever we both agree to, since this deal is still not completely clear.”

The implication was clear. Corn was not in a position to withhold his guarantee on anything they were poised to swear binding oaths in front of the gathered Awakened over, among them three Councilors. Things would be clear and he would not tolerate loopholes from the Moros. Durations would be clearly defined. And the Council would decide punishment. And besides, Corn hadn`t explicitly ruled out the possibility as he hadn`t mentioned anything really against it. Except a vague `guarantee` about a week, which could be made whatever they both wished, subject to these negotiations. The latter earned Corn an irritated frown and caused him to firmly re-state his position. Corn`s mention of non-supernal script did get a surprised look though, for once.
"If one of you could note it in supernal script that would be great."

Corn`s brief discussion with Skye. Or rather, Skye`s mentioning of the elephant in the room with Corn, didn`t get any real reaction, except that he patiently waited for their discussion to end. He wouldn`t have accepted any withholding of the true name of Corn`s son regardless. But the free acceptance from Corn did make the negotiation a little easier on that score at least. But he simply had to react to her her point on the true names of Corn and his acquantances with a curt nod. In any investigation, after all, mundane headlines would be the absolute first thing to research and wouldn`t take but a few minutes. And they`d likely reveal not only Corn`s true name, unless his current sleeper name was a cover, as well as those of his entire extended family and friends. Skye also got another smile though. Any lingering doubts were gone. Even moreso than before, if that was even possible. She indeed seemed to like him, from her seemingly flustered return response telling whatever her words didn`t. And he didn`t mind. And he also didn`t mind the now still more overt flattery from Skye. And his business deadpan changed into a mirthful smile, including slight embarrassment on his features to reflect the moment.
"Complements? No. Not rare. Good-looking women who give them to me first. Moreso. As for the emotion that went into them? I think it`s mostly happiness. Just trying to give back."
But also a bit of greed. The evil voice in his head finished. After all, he was not entirely altruistic and he didn`t hide that from himself. He did, however, from others, when it suited his purposes. He then continued:
"And what is it you don`t believe?"
slight confusion replacing mirth and embarrassment.
After a longer beat, the topic shifted back to the negotation. And he was back to deadpan. With his full metaphysical weight behind his words he adressed Corn again, revising the terms of the deal and stating them out loud for all to hear.
    "So, again. To be clear."
He said, adressing all Mages present, as witnesses to the exchanges, formulations, words and wordplay between them, before continuing.
"So, Corn, you provide me your son`s true name and a strong sympathetic connection to him. And I`ll do an extended willworking for you at a time and place with proper safeguards for me, to attempt to determine what you, quote: `must do to find your son, if he is still alive`, end quote. In addition, I`ll try to determine if there are conditions placed on your son.

In return, you`ll conjure into existence for me four items, up to two in existence at the same time. Each item has an effect to be decided based on what you`re capable of and my discretion at a time of my choosing and place to be agreed upon. Furthermore, each item is to generally last a month after I receive it. It may first be ended by you after at least a week from the time I receive it after a discussion between us, and then only if it`s acceptable to me or you`re in imminent physical peril. Unless I ask for it to be ended before its` expiration, or agree on a lesser duration for an item. Furthermore, each will be a ritual willworking unless otherwise requested, with the greatest possible potency you can muster."

turning from Corn to the others, still with his business look- giving whoever else wanted the floor to say their piece on what he`d now suggested. He`d still tried to give Corn as few loopholes, but he was sure if he really wanted to find one, he could. Especially to try to get out of the duration clause, with manufactured incidents. No doubt they`ll be quite a problem. But that`s one for the Council if it comes to it. he thought, sighing internally at the handful Corn had become.
