Picnic in the Park!

Spring was in the air! The temperature was warming up with a light spring breeze, flowers were blooming everywhere and Sera was in her element!

Literally. She’s the Queen of Spring after all!

And always one to be true to her word, she set an afternoon up for a picnic in the park! Jasper and Sonnie Wu had both showed interest, and with two dogs, it promised to be a fun and relaxing day!

The park she picked was pretty centrally located, but had this little build in barbecues for the public to use! So Sera came prepared with tinfoil to cover the grate, cause eww, lots of people had used it. But the foil gave her a clean surface to grill on. In theme for a picnic, she brought a large blanket to spread out which was held down on the edges with coolers. One had a variety of drinks, including water, soda and juice. The other had sides, typical picnic sides, nothing too fancy. The final one had hotdogs, burger patties and bratwurst, she even tossed in a few vegetarian options in case. And with dogs coming, she had water bowls and food for them as well.

Over prepared? Probably, but this was what she did best. And heal, she did that best as well.

Casual and relaxed was the name of the game today! And the Nix was doing just that but in style! Jean shorts and an off the shoulder top with her long hair in a lose ponytail. She was already relaxing on the blanket, long legs stretched out in front of her with a book on her lap.

Sonnie arrived, Mask Hardened, strolling happily through the park. With her was her dog Fugly, in all his so-ugly-he's-cute glory, trotting alongside his mistress at the end of a leash. The Claviger came dressed in cut off shorts, a loose white tee shirt with an American flag on it, and a red beanie. As a responsible dog mom, she had a bag filled with Fugly's toys and treats, as well as baggies for picking up his messes. She also had a blanket and a mini-cooler. Fugly was carrying a little red frisbee in his mouth!

"Hello, hello!" she greeted her bestie and Queen. She'd wave, but her hands were full. Fugly strained on his leash to go greet Sera. Sonnie let him go, and the little mongrel ran over to show off his frisbee!

See, it was hard to miss the color red. It was even harder to miss when it was being worn by the attractive and playful Sonnie!

A hand was raised in a wave as she closed her book. And just in time too! Seemed Fugly was happy to see her! Laughing, she opens her arms to greet him, “Now that looks like a fun frisbee!” she coos before looking to the Beast, “Hello to you too! What did you bring in the cooler? Cause I think we might need to be rolled out of here with all the food!” giggling as she pet Fugly.

“And love that hat on you!” was true, it looked beautiful on her.

Sonnie plopped down on the blanket, laughing easily. She dropped all her stuff unceremoniously around her. The Beast was often a tad careless in that way. "Oh, just some lemonades, some popsicles. I figured you'd have most everything covered, so I didn't bring much." She patted the cooler and pushed it aside.

She smiled and adjusted the knit hat, "Ah, thanks!"

Fugly was in seventh heaven, rolling about to get Sera to give belly rubs. His tail was going 100 MPH.

"Fat Sera would be a sight to see!" She laughed at the ridiculous idea. Could Fairest even become overweight? She doubted it.

[Seraphina]

“Good idea about the popsicles! I totally forgot about those! Perfect for a picnic!” and they were sweet, another bonus! Laughing, “I do tend to go a bit overboard.” Like, way overboard.

“I need to go hat shopping with you, you always seem to find the best ones!” hat shopping was hard, trying to find ones that actually looked good and all.

Laughing again, she eagerly provides belly rubs for Fugly, “Have you been a good boy?” she coos.

On the subject of a fat Sera, “Well, I just need to stop going to the gym and continue to eat like do and you’ll see one!” what would that be like? She knows she would never let it happen, her upbringing and past made it near impossible. But on another note, could they gain weight like that? Changelings? It was something she never really thought about. “But only if you join me.” Smirking.

Reaching into a cooler, she grabs a water and offers one to Sonnie, “How’ve you been? How’s the dojo?”

"Cali in May, the heat's just beginning. Popsicles are a must!" Sonnie nodded sagely. "Summer's just around the corner, after all."

Has Fugly been a good boy? No... He's the GOODEST BOY! He made some adorable whimpering noises as he was loved on.

"Ah, this old thing? I've had this beanie forever. It's an old favorite," she chuckled.

"I've seen Ogre's get... corpulent." Now there was a word. "Best not to ask what they eat, though," she still pondered the possibilities, and they weren't pleasant. Gross.

The Beast smiled and shrugged, "Same old, same old. That's why I couldn't join you in getting chubby. My job is too much of a workout. Plus I could never give up parkour, either. Too much fun!"

[Seraphina]

“Cannot argue with that logic.” Plus it meant popsicles, she’d never argue about those. “I do kind of look forward to the warmer weather. Makes it easier to wear shorts and cute sundresses.” Got to show off the legs!

Laughing again, “Of course you have huh?!” more belly rubs. One could never doubt how good of a boy Fugly was.

“Well, it looks amazing, and it’s a good color for you.” Not many could pull off red. But the Beast certainly could.

An eyebrow raises at the word. Now she knew Sonnie was smarter than she let on, but it was still a surprise to hear. “Good word.” Bit past her pay grade for this day, but a good word. “One would think it rude to ask such questions to an Orge, and dangerous.” Even if the Beast was talking about other Lost, Orge wasn’t a risk to use. Could be talking about Lord of the Rings after all.

Sagely nodding, “I have too much fun boxing to really get chubby.” She was just too active, always coming and going. “Sounds like the job is still going well, which is great!” Sonnie was a good teacher, even if Sera still sucked at self-defense.

“Had a chance to meet any of the new faces to the city?”

"Also, bikinis," she nodded as if agreeing with herself. Summer was indeed pool time. Or beach time, whichever.

The hat was adjusted again, though only as an affectation. It pleased Sonnie when her appearance got complimented by Sera. Her self image could suffer a bit in the presence of a Fairest like this, though that was hardly Sera's fault. The compliments helped fixed that, even if Sera would be forever unaware of Sonnie's insecurities.

"I know, right?" she responded to her use of corpulent. "It was the word of the day on my toilet paper this morning!" She was joking? Who knew? "Most Ogres seem okay. It's the ones with the fangs you gotta wonder about."

The Beast smiled, "Thanks! I'm hoping to graduate from teaching the kiddie classes to some more intermediate students. Sometime soon, ideally."

She tilted her head to one side, thinking, then shook her head. "Nope. Haven't seen any of them since the Coro." She glanced around. "Did you invite any of them to this little shindig?"

[Seraphina]

Eagerly nodding, “A very important outfit for summer.” Another of her favorites. "Which reminds me, I need to go shopping for some new ones." for her, part of moving on with her life was a redo of all her clothes.

Laughing, “Let me guess, Amazon?” she’s come to understand, and appreciate, that you could find pretty much anything you needed…or didn’t…on Amazon.

“Very true, but would that be the upper fangs, lower ones, or both? I get those mixed up all the time.” this was perfect. Relaxing on a nice spring day with her best friend.

“Oh! That would be exciting and probably a welcome challenge! One that you would totally own without a sweat of course.” She clearly thought highly of the Beast, “Is that something you have to, like, put in for?” being her boss meant she was out of the loop for how promotions worked.

“Huh.” But then again, she hadn’t really made herself available, wrapped up in her own despair and loss. But she was trying now. “I let Jasper know, because he expressed interest in hanging out here, and left a paper in the Funderland offices in case anyone else wanted to get out and relax.” Shrugging, “If anyone else shows up,” sighing, “the world may never know.”
