Sera had reached out to the other Springs saying they should get together and touch base. It had been a while since they all sat down and just talked.

And of course, she went all out with food! There were various meats for sandwiches with condiments, cheese along with chips, numerous flavors. It was always good to give options. And for dessert? Warm apple pie! Hot cider was warming in a pot, along with tea, coffee and sodas.

Maybe too much? Probably, but it was just what she did.

The Nix sat at the table sipping hot cider and drawing in one of her sketchbooks. Casual was attire for the gathering, skinny jeans with a black tank top and pink hoodie.

Sonnie Wu arrived to join her Queen and bestie for this luncheon thing. Never bet against the Monkey coming to help Sera... or to come devour lots of tasty morsels. Dressed in jeans, her hedgespun boots, and a black tee under a red flannel shirt, she waved at the Fairest as she arrived. Her hair was worn in twin pigtails with a black knit cap.

"Hidey ho! How are we this lovely day? Also, am I late or early?" she asked, looking around at the lack of other Spring Courtiers.

It was nice to have an opportunity to meet and break bread with fellow Springs, especially with Winter fast approaching. It fills Liam with ideas of how to use the colder months to plan for the arrival of fresh, green times.

He catches the tail end of Sonnie's voice as he ducks through the doorway and gives an audible, rumbling chuckle. "I think we're here precisely on time. Hello, Sonnie! Hello, Sera!" The Giant is dressed in sweatpants and a checkered sweater, with his pine needle hair looking longer than usual. "Hot cider? Wonderful choice for the weather, Sera." Even Sacramento winters can be chilly, and Liam savors a small glass as the warm liquid fills him with the sensation of home and gets his creative wheels turning about making some hot cider at home.

Looking up as she heard Sonnie, she hops out of her seat, “Sonnie! Hey! Glad you could make it.” A wide smile, clearly happy to see her. “I’m not too bad, how about you?” a shake of her head, “Never too early! Means you get first dibs on the snacks!” a wink added at the end.

Now it was hard to miss Liam as he came into the Tavern, being a giant and all. “Hi Liam, good to see you!” she greeted with a small wave. “Yes! I tried a new recipe this time and think it came out pretty good. You’ll have to let me know.” She knew him and Sonnie would be honest with her. “How have you been?” refilling her own cup, she sits back down.

“Hope Summer can join us; I haven’t heard from her since the Coronation. But it can always be stressful moving to a new city and all that, so I’m sure she’ll be here.” She hoped.

"I actually had an idea for the Tavern that I was hoping to talk with you guys about."

Having quickly helped herself to some cheese and chips, and a cup of cider, Sonnie moved to sit down.

"Heyo, Treebeard! How's tricks?" she asked, before nibbling on some cheese.

The mention of Summer Berry brings a nod from the Beast, "Mmm, yeah, I haven't seen the new girl in a while. Hope she shows."

Liam nods in approval of the hot cider. “Very nice. None of the powdery texture from the store-bought kind. And a nice, tangy finish.” Not wanting to let Spring hospitality go to waste, he picks up some cheese from the snack table.

He waves back at Sonnie. “Tricks? Funny you should mention that. Templeton’s been playing fetch with me. Fetch! Like a little, brainy puppy.” He chuckles, feeling just a hint of pride at his rodent friend’s playful nature. “As for me, I’m mostly working some late shifts at the bar. Holidays mean folks come in either happy or in need of cheer, and I’m there for both.”

”More Tavern ideas? Awesome! What did you have in mind.” Liam looks to Sera with an excited gleam in his eyes.

Putting together a sandwich, “I hope she does as well, it’s been hard to get a read on her. She seems nice though.” Shy, but nice.

“Great! I’ll have to add it to the recipes that have worked!” cider was difficult to get just right.

An eyebrow arches, “You taught the rat to play fetch? That’s amazing!” who would have thought?! “I need to come in sometime and get a drink from you. They’ve been reaching out wanting me to come sing. Do you have any that you specialize in? Cause I’m going to want one of those.” Totally one of those.

Pulling out her sketch pad, she flips through to a picture and lays it on the table. “What if we pool our resources together and made the Tavern into the best damn Hollow in the Freehold?”

Her eyes widened a little at the news about Templeton, "Oh, I didn't know rats can do that! Next thing you know, he'll be the secret chef of a French restaurant!" She nodded vigorously.

Sonnie's eyes widened a lot more when she saw Sera's picture. "WOW! That looks really cool! Kind of like... uh, nevermind." She didn't want to give too much away about her own Hollow. "It's super cool, though! Where is this from?"

Liam's face glows with pride at Sera's offer to visit and try HIS speciality drinks. Well, at least the drinks HE was serving. "Of course! And artists's drinks are on the house, just so you know. I've crafted a spiced hot chocolate with cinnamon rum that's gotten a lot of praise. Of course, I prefer earthier flavors anyway, so you'll have to let me know what you think."

"Oh, rats are super smart! They can be trained to do pretty much anything a dog can do, but with more dexterity with their claws. I've read they're used in some parts of the world to track down bombs. Now that takes guts and intelligence!" He looks to Sonnie and chuckles at the Disney reference. "Hah! Maybe, Sonnie. Some days I wonder what Templeton will be up to whenever I leave him alone for too long."

He looks over Sera's shoulder; but in the way that one does when one is too tall to bend far over, not so much in an eavesdropping kind of way. His eyes widen and his smile broadens as he sees Sera's vision of the Spring Hollow. "That...that looks awesome!" Already he's thinking of artistic details. "Were you thinking of deciduous or coniferous for the foliage? Or maybe jungle? What do you think Sonnie?" He knows monkeys are jungle creatures, so maybe having a setting like that would help the Claviger feel more at ease.

There was a moment where she wanted to ask, but decided not to. Sonnie was usually an open book, so for her to not say something told Sera it was personal. And she doesn’t push personal.

“A little bit of everything, well, kinda. I had been looking up inspiration for my own personal Hollow, and came across various pictures like this. So kinda cut and pasted a few of them together, and it just looked like it would make for a fun and spacious Hollow. Like something Spring could make into something the Freehold has never seen before!” excited sapphires bouncing from Sonnie to the paper to Liam and back.

“Oh! Spiced hot chocolate with cinnamon rum?! That sounds absolutely amazing! You can count on me stopping by to try that, high on the list!” and she truly sounded excited, but that was because she was. “And you can’t go wrong with chocolate, but cannot wait to see how the flavors blend!” she knew drinks were on the house, but it had never been something she had done before.

“Do you plan on teaching him more tricks?” who would have thought a rat would be intelligent.
Beaming to Liam, “I wasn’t sure to be honest, I was hoping you and Sonnie would have ideas. It’s Spring Hollow, so each Spring should have input. Maybe a mixture of everything?!” she wasn’t sure that would work, but worth tossing it out there.
