I meant to say jumping to propping up the bar.
Gerrit entered the tavern proper again and just stood there awkwardly. His reservations about the whole evening have been silenced while talking to Seraphina, but now they returned and he really didn't know what to do with himself. Cassandra and John seemed to be busy with each other, some new faces were socializing about, and the bar seemed full with people indulging in true Spring fashion.
He made his decision. He didn't want to leave without saying anything, but he also didn't want to pull all the attention or disturb any other discussions - he opted for a compromise: he put on a smile he hoped looked tired but satisfied, waved to anyone looking his way and left the Tavern that way.
It hadn't been the escalating party he had feared it would be, but the evening probably was still young for Emerald standards. He didn't intend to stay and find out.
Thanks for the scene everyone!
Ram stumbled on his way out, having had a couple more drinks than was probably wise for a man of his stature. Luckily, any tables he overturned at this point were purely cosmetic at this late in the evening. He could probably jostle all the food out of its dish at this point and only the janitors would roll their eyes at having to clean it up.
Even so, he approached the wishing with care and reverence. At least as much as a drunk soldier of the Fairie's wars could. Which was to say, the pen tore through the wax paper at several points. As Ram folded it in half, so no one could see, it split again as if it was tissue paper. Or the thin pages of a bible.
Ram winced at the sound of every rip and split. But refused to stop. Pper crumpled from being stuffed in his pocket. Torn by scribe and scribble. Shred farther by being forcefully folded in half, Ram through what might as well have been lint into the fire. Then exited quickly, before the pain of the battlefield could invade.
Wishing Fire
For some the night winds down, and for others, it is only just beginning. For tonight is the night of the Vernal Equinox, where Desire turns away Sorrow, and that Desire in turn protects the Freehold from The Other's grasp.
End Scene!
