Sonnie, smiling, was about to respond to the Nix when the crashing of vases happened. She jumped, turning around, only to see the suddenly upset Coco run off.
"Wait, what? Why is she..?" Confused Monkey was confused. She couldn't help but notice this was quickly becoming a habit of the Wasp's. Getting upset and storming off. Was she always this dramatic?
The Beast was about to chase after Coco, but then the most recent mortal had finished their performance. Who knew there was a contestant that did Tibetan throat singing? Sonnie applauded, but then realized something. "Oh, crap! I'm next!" Coco would have to wait a few minutes. Time to scramble!
The Monkey was fairly strong for her size, but she still strained to pick up and carry the wooden object she had built for the contest. "I... I got it!" Somehow, she got the pyramid like thing out front, on the law before the stage. A quick wave at the audience, and she ran backstage to grab her bike! Wheeling out front, she grinned and waved at everyone.
"Hello! I'm Sonnie the Mag... uh, Sonnie the Totally Radical! And here's what I can do!"
3 successes
What followed was a series of bike-riding tricks! The Steepscrambler performed wheelies, rode on the very edge of the stage, hopped about on her front tire, and other funky cool fresh stunts!
"And now," she said, her voice raised, "the grand finale!"
Getting some distance, Sonnie lined herself up with the ramp she had made for just this trick! Taking a deep breath, the Beast started pumping the pedals as she burst forward! She raced at the ramp and...
bummer dude
...she blew it. Something went wrong at the last second - some combination of insufficient speed and the ramp not being angled correctly - and she was unable to perform her finale. It took all her concentration just to avoid wiping out and hurting herself!
Skidding to a halt on the far side of the ramp, Sonnie blinked in confusion. She looked back at the ramp, then at the silent audience. "Ummm..." she shrugged, "Ta-da?"
More silence.
The Monkey grinned nervously, "Okaythat'sitI'mSonnietheTotallyRadicalthankyoubye !" She then rode her bike backstage as quickly as she spoke.
Out of sight of the audience, she let out a long breath. "Well... that could have gone better. Maybe I should have practiced first?" She grumpily disembarked from her bike and parked it.
