Was he though?
Unable to maintain his cool, relaxed posture he leans forward again as he speaks. Intensity and excitement building once more.
"Well, now that is a good question. First I'll study it, obviously. I want to know where it goes, if it was actually made by sleepers, what does it do. Can it be weaponized? IF it can be weaponized, can it be rendered safe? Is it merely a curio? There are a million different questions I won't know to ask until I have more answers. I suppose intent is the key word in your question. I intend to study it and keep it safe in my sanctum until I know enough to devise the right course of action. But I want to ensure it doesn't pose a danger to my sanctum. It is my sanctuary after all. I thought of bringing it here, but I'd rather endanger my own home before endangering the Circle. I've been keeping it under lock and key for months, but now I'm worried of what might come from the other side."
If there were social cues about their conflicting orders the Shaman doesn't pick up on it. Here there is balanced Consilium, where he came from, in LA the Assembly ruled. The Free Council has a rep, especially here, but like any democracy, thoughts and beliefs are not truly unified. His response to 'hoard' the item while he studies it, might be indicative of that.
"That seems fair and equitable," Campanella replied after a pause.
"I can take a look at it, if you wish."
He turned to the Libertine.
"And don't worry, I won't lay a claim or anything on the object. You have found it. You have been protecting it within your own sanctum. The claim lies with you. If you come to decide you don't want it, we can add it to the Athenaeum here and I'll devise some protections to keep it safe."
His lip curled in a coy fashion.
The Shaman shivered briefly, must be the chill air tickling his exposed flesh.
"Excellent," he clapped and stood. "Come by at your leisure. I look forward to delving into this mystery with you."
Seems like a good spot to wind this scene up.
Unless you want me to post Campy's results as a kind of epilogue?
