Stalking Miss Franklin

((ST Note: I am assuming Jack is still planning to take a shot from the roof of the building across the street.

That building is modern twelve-story office building. Climate-controlled, the windows do not open. It contains many businesses, some of them open 24/7 as far as Jack has been able to determine, and there is some degree of traffic all through the night. Some of the floors are taken up by a single business, and some of the floors are much more active at night than others. There is a security desk in the lobby, manned by two security guards. There are two elevators and two stairwells. During an earlier visit, Jack was able to discover that one of them provides roof access, but the door to the roof is a very sturdy metal door, and locked.

There are cameras in the lobby, the elevators and the hallways, but as far as Jack has seen, the guards spend more time eating delivery pizza and reading newspapers and sports magazines than they do watching the monitors. Every half hour or so, one of the guards gets up and patrols the building. The guards wear belts upon which they carry key rings, radios, pepper spray, shock-resistant plastic tonfa-style batons and holstered pistols. ))

Jack was now rubbing his temples in a vain attempt to get the gears in his brain working.FUCK! The guards, security, not enough places to get a good shot in the streets, stealth related tactics...Dammit this is Mehket work! Hungry, fustrated, struggling for ideas in his weak-ass mind. Its no wonder his Beast was making a more profound effect on his mind and slowly seeping thoughts of murder into it.

Narration:

A couple more cars have pulled into the lot of the dance studio.

((ST Reminder - Do remember that Jack can spend more time scouting out options and attempt the job another time.))

Jack leaned back against the wall and closed his eyes. He needed to keep calm, cool and not running around tearing people new holes to breath through. I'll put it off for now. Can't think straight. Pushing his feelings out of his mind, he peeked around the corner and watched the studio. Maybe he might find an opening he could take advantage of next time.

Narration:

Jack watches for awhile and eventually sees Jada Franklin and her mother emerge from the dance studio. They stand right outside the doors and talk for a moment with another girl and her parents.

OK, Mother comes out. Have a little chit-chat, probably about how well the night went... Jack made mental notes about the whole thing. The Beast was still clawing at him for blood, but he tried his best to ignore it while he watched. He was sure that at this distance no one would notice him and right now he didn't look particularly remarkable.

Narration:

After a couple minutes, Jada and her mother wave at the other girl and her parents, then head toward the parking lot.

Hmmm...Maybe I could from here perhaps? He was between buildings and just out of sight from everyone. There was that possiblitiy. He takes a moment to look around to see if he can get a good shot from his current position and hopefully remain just out of sight.

((ST Note: The cover isn't excellent - -2 to attempts to escape notice, though that will be at least partially made up for by it being dark - and between the cars in the lot and lack of time to set up the shot, Jack would realize he's at a significant penalty to get as precise a shot as he was hired to attempt. Not an ideal sniping situation.))

"Hmmm...On second thought. It's not the best place. Jack though as he turned his attention back to Jada and others. He was going to have to try something else again later after all.
