[Anatole]

Anatole inclines his head, acknowledging the respect shown by Vincent

"Thank you! Thank you! Took a bit of organising, the greenery especially. Glad you like it. Please, eat at my table."

A smile sprang from the burned dwarf's efusive curls when Sonnie Wu makes her entrance.

"A spider-monkey!? Who would have thought! Welcome! Please, sit and eat. Also drink. I doubt I can do it all by myself."

Circe makes her reveal and the Wizened's eyes raise.

"That is impressive! Oh? So it is practical? Not for show? Interesting."

He gestured for the Summer Queen to sit, eying the hedgespun raiment with open curiosity. Anatole was perhaps about to say more, but Seraphina stole his attention.

"Why thank you. I will have some... No. There is some mead over there. Craft mead, I am told. If I may, I shall have some of that. And thank you."

The singular Ashen Courtier, King for Season smiled in thanks and joined the press around the table. Bread and preserves were his choice on this occasion and he was determined to savour every moment of tearing into the still warm breads.

He was also open to conversation, and so much deliberately slowly at his work.

"Thank you, I will happily join you, after I get a plate that is."

Seeing Sonnie walk in the Beast shakes his head and chuckles.

"Not sure if it is the ultimate dad joke or just a cheeky costume but I love it, it looks great."

Vincent returns the wave to Seraphina.

"Evening Sera, happy to see you here. How is the food?"

[Sonnie Wu]

"Thank you, thank you!" she laughed and saluted Sera and Circe for their compliments. "Goth Spring and Waifu Summer!"

Looking to the new Autumn King, Sonnie smiled and nodded energetically, "Thanks! I'll be happy to help lighten the load!" As always. "So... what's on the agenda for the Spooktacular Court? Anything the freehold should look forward to? Or be afraid of?"

She waved to Vincent, "Thanks, but the cheeky is back here!" The Claviger slapped her own behind, "I bought cake to the party!" She burst out laughing.

[Circe]

"Gonna be in finery, might as well be able ta kick ass," she waves her arms wide as Anatole praises her attire. "Adding ta was a lil', uh, annoying." The less said about how hard it is to turn leaves into fabric, the better said. "Not sure if the dress and armor are joined or not," she shrugs as she'd not tried hardening her mask to test. It could go either way. "Fashion and function, feel like I need a sword ta go with it though. Next Summer maybe."


And follows Anatole's guidance to sit with him, after grabbing some food and drink of course. Circe wasn't going to insult her host by not eating.


"Mead? Hmmm," she thinks she'll try it, see if it sits better than beer. "Thank you King Anatole, I'll give it a try."


"Better not be a marbled cake," Circe responds to Sonja's jest with one of her own. "Though I've my own curiosities of the plans Autumn has devised."

[Seraphina]

Smiling brightly, happy he was allowing her to get it for him, she nods, pouring him some of the mead. “You’re welcome.” Placing the glass down in front of him.

That done, she sits as well, and remembers why she wasn’t a fan of corsets. Breathing, especially when seated, was a bitch. How did Mhairi wear these all the time?!

“How has everything been going? Anything exciting going on?” she asks him.

To Vincent, “Delicious so far! I hope to try a little bit of everything.” After all, Anatole had put in a lot of work for this.

Laughing, “Goth Spring huh? I’ll take it.”

[Anatole]

Anatole nodded in thanks as he accepted the mead. He tasted it, gingerly, while the others spoke; appreciation lit up his face and he drank more deeply before placing the glass before him. He spoke briefly to Seraphina:

"I am fine. Things have been quiet. Which was good as I was putting all this together."

He was inhaling the scent of a warm, broken, bread when he noticed a gap in the conversation. His eyes bounced between Circe and Sonnie Wu

"No frightening shennigans this year, I am afraid. The Ash isn't just about Fear. It is about hearth, home, and harvest. And family."

He gestured around him.

"What do you think this is?"

[Circe]

Knowledge and Fear had always been the focus of other Autumns she'd met in the past. Then again, Rage, Revenge, and Leeroy Jenkin! (TM) was the standard for most Summers she had met, yet that didn't describe Circe. She smiles in approval to Anatole, it was good he was being different.


"Thanksgiving? Well, I am most thankful fer a friend like you Anatole," was her initial answer. "It is welcoming and warmth, I'll give ya that. Great that someone else is also not embracing their Seasonal Stereotypes." Circe lets out a sigh and she tries the mead.


Okay, that is different. Nice. Hopefully her intestines agree later. Different was good. Oh hey, that sounds better. Probably in her head.

"This is good. This here, not just the mead. But I can't put it eloquently King Anatole. Everybody here knows I skip philosophy's why questions. Eloquence isn't my schtick, so I'll be honest and blunt. It is a welcoming and great thing ya have done. Just as you are great too oh King of the Hearth."

Circe is sincere in her praise. The burnt dwarf is quite damned nice.

Vincent was wondering why Anatole avoided the scary stuff. "Are you just not a fan of the horror, or not really a fan of the spooky season. To me the spooky season is a nice introduction to the autumn season. It makes autumn feel like it to me."

Vincent did not lie he really did enjoy the autumn and everything it had to offer.

[Sonnie Wu]

Sonnie looked about the room, nodding. "Hm, good point, good point. Harvest is important. It's the cozy part of autumn!" She did like Thanksgiving.

"Speaking of harvests, I think I'll go harvest myself a little something to eat!" The 'Spider Monkey' spun on her heel and began striding towards the foodstuffs.

[Seraphina]

A solemn nod, “Sometimes quiet is just what you need to find inspiration.” She wanted quiet. “Well, you did a magnificent job.” Raising her glass to him.

Though his words made her think, Rhodes was all about the Fear. What it was, what it could be and what it represented to them as a Freehold. Seeing a softer side of Autumn was welcome, even though she had seen the softer side of Rhodes, a side no one else got to see.

The glass was then raised to Circe after she speaks, her words true.

Vincent asked an interesting question, and she was curious. But she also knew no two Autumns are alike, like no two Springs were alike.
