Sera enter the cathedral, following the screams, and the footpath Vincent had left in his haste to get to Gabby. The closer she gets the hotter the fire burns, and the softer the screams.


Calling on his wyrd, Vincent watches as his fiery eye changes, dims, concealing his oft forgotten flamesiren kith, taking am moment, than another. He no longer looks like anything that might have come from the girl's nightmares.

Vincent is mentally kicking himself for forgetting what he looked like under normal circumstances "How can you forget stupid, it is only a part of you!!" he mentally berated himself. Vincent then turned his attention back to Gabby, kneeling to look at her under the bed, "Gabby the fire is gone, look at me see I am okay. Let me get you out of there so I can help you." Vincent softly says as he reached his hand to her.

Sera drawing closer and closer to the heart of the fire she feels the heat, and the licking flames, it should hurt, it should burn but it doesn't. She strains to hear anything but the inferno - there! A girl's shout, and Vincent's voice, barely audible but present. There next door over! When she enters, she sees what Vincent had before, the little girl's room, in pinks and purples. The toys, the dollhouse, and Vincent on the floor next to the bed, trying and failing to get Gabby out from under there.



"NO!" Gabby shouts, stubbornly keeping her eyes shut, her face scrunched. "It's never gone! Never! Ever! EVER!"

[Seraphina]

Running into the room, she was taken aback by how it looked, at least, compared to outside. Was this Gabby’s safe space within her own nightmare? It wouldn’t be surprising at all if it was. Everyone needed a safe place to go.

But it was obvious, Vincent wasn’t gaining any ground with the scared Gabby under the bed.

Kneeling down on the floor, then stretching onto her stomach, she looks under the bed, “Hey Gabby, it’s Sarah, remember me?” she asks in a warm voice, “We’re here to help you, like we promised we would.” A translucent hand was then held out, not close enough to grab her, but close enough that she could take it if she wanted to. The Nix knows you don’t grab an obviously scared and frightened girl, let them make that move if they want. "Can we help you?"

Vincent barely notices as Seraphina lays next to him until she speaks. At first, a little startled, he gets up from his position and gives the reigns to Seraphina. "She is very scared, Sarah." Vincent says in a low whisper.

Sera comes in like a fresh breeze, the air calms with the scent of spring flowers, then like it's nothing the Queen of Spring kneels on the floor, then hunching down all to help a scared little girl, then the Fairest works her (mundane) magic.

The girl sniffles, then opens one eye, then the other. She's still as far back under the bed as she can be, but she's looking at them, both of them her breathing is calming. "Sarah?" she asks, her voice small, she dashes a clenched fist across her eyes, "Help?" she echoes looking at them with naked hope. "No one ever helps." she sniffles again, "How?" she asks, she begs, wiggling a little closer, "How!" comes again, more insistent this time.

A nod to Vincent, her eyes remaining on Gabby, “It’s understandable, this is quite the nightmare.” Even for an adult.

Back to Gabby, “Yeah,” a smile and nod, this was good, progress, “and that’s because you hadn’t met us yet. We’re here to help you.” The offered hand remains, “You wanted help facing your demons and making your Dreams a safe space. We can do that. Was that monster outside what was scaring you? Because if it was, he’s gone now, defeated.” And it had been an epic battle.

“The hellscape that is outside can go away, you can have it be whatever you want. What do you want to see in your Dreams? What would bring you rest and happiness?” cause despite everything she is, a mind reader is not one of them. But judging by the room, the one small space that seemed safe, she might have an idea.

Vincent watched intently as Seraphina spoke to Gabby. Looking around again, he was looking for any evidence that he could see that would allow him or Seraphina to calm Gabby enough to get her to respond to him. A picture, drawing, anything that might show them something that is calming or considered safe for her.

Sera's soothing voice continues, her focus entirely upon Gabby while Vincent takes the moment to scout around the room. With Gabby calming, he has the time to actually look instead of the quick scan he did earlier. He's looking for things that would be safe for her, but the longer he looks the more he gets the feeling that the happy pink and purple room, the the shelves of plush toys and the dollhouse is a veneer, a band aid over something more sinister. He finds the drawings, they are not happy things. He sees a little girl, on fire, and crying. He sees a large black monster, over and over, sometimes on fire and dying, and sometimes with an angry face with the crying girl. There's more angry monsters, not just the one they fought. And over, and over and over, someone that can only be a priest. Large in every drawing, with heavy, thick lines of crayon the priest is black head to toe, except the giant cross in a stick figure'd hand. It's white, or yellow, and lined with red.


Sera, notices Vincent's pulling away to search the room, but her focus is on Gabby, "There's always monsters." she confesses, wiggling a little closer to Sera. "Always. Always." she blinks her watery eyes up at Sera, "It's bad when you fight! You can't!" she shouts, repeating 'you can't' over and over, reaching for Sera. Worry and fear clear on her face.
