Goodbye Summer Bash!

[Circe]

"I work a forge," she says matter-of-factly, "Kinda hafta. Though yes, I am always packing a gun, hun."

"Hmmmm," Circe hefts Vincent a couple of times. She puts on a faux air of examination, like a fisherman examining a catch. "Eh, too small, hafta settle fer a burger and toss him back," Circe says in a cheerful tone as she tosses Vincent off to her side, back into the water.


Then notices a monkey that is hiding underwater. "Oh, hey Sera! Ya have a sea monkey infestation. What do ya feed 'em?"

[Anatole]

Anatole...

Waited

Apparently his plate was enough - even though he wasn't exactly eating at this time. His careful eye was on the pool.

[Vincent Black]

Vincent comes out laughing his ass off, his shakes his head like a dog shaking off water when his ears catch Seraphina mentioning the burgers were ready. "Sweet time to eat." He then catches Circe talking about a sea monkey infestation to look and see Sonnie is still hanging out under water. "Is she going to be okay?" Vincent says with a laugh as he swims to edge of the pool and gets out to help himself to a plate of food.+

Sonnie couldn't really make out what anyone was saying. Water distorted the voices, quite a lot with the sheer volume of it above her. Didn't matter, she was having fun testing her lung capacity.

The Beast was still holing her breath and didn't budge from the bottom of the pool. She was starting to feel the strain, though.

Meanwhile, Fugly was super hyped to get his own burger! Tail going 100 MPH, the ugly mutt spun in circles until Auntie Seraphina placed the dish down for him. Then, he dived in and started wolfing it down!

[Seraphina]

Smirking, “Oh, I am well aware, still wouldn’t mess with either.” Nope, not this Nix.

Laughing as the Summer seems to weigh out Vincent, then toss him back.

“Mostly whatever they want. But usually burgers and tacos, though today they’re gonna have to settle for only burgers. The trick is to place the food near the water and be quiet, they eventually come out.” Especially when there was food.

A quick glance was offered to Anatole, curious what his plan was or if he had any.

Looking to Vincent, “Oh yeah, she’ll be fine. Once she see’s the food she’ll be up.” She wasn’t worried, knowing full well Sonnie wasn’t stupid and was actually quite intelligent. Still, she holds up a burger so that the Beast can see it.

Smiling and laughing, she gives Fugly an extra scratch behind his ear as he began enjoying his burger. He really was the best boy.

[Circe]

Did Vincent just mean to rhyme? Or just Wyrd luck? Well, Circe took it as a challenge.

"Oooh, rhyme on a dime do ya puppy? And food sounds like a yuppie," she rhymes along and pauses to look from the food to the sub-aquatic Spring Beast.


Well then, Sonja was mature responsible an adult who had seen combat and survived! Circe concludes the monkey can settle it herself for coming out for food. CPR wasn't hard if not, right?


"I trust yer wisdom fer sea minkeeey wrangling," she bows to Seraphina and climbs out quickly behind Vincent. "Though maybe the banana surprise will get her out of the water." Circe would try that after her burger. She uses a towel to dry her hands before going to acknowledge the senior canine knight present.


"Sir Fugly," she kneels before the be-knighted dog. She gives him cuddles, "You have gotten yer reward for your studious protection of Seraphina? Yes you have. You are a good boy!"


Circe's time pampering the pupper ends as she seeks her own burger to enjoy. "Hmm, well done Sera. Lit and fig. Thanks fer the burger," she casts a look to Vincent, "No dunkies with food," then bag at Seraphina, "How are ya doing Sera? Didn't get the chance ta ask. How's, uh, business?"

[Anatole]

Still nothing...

Anatole's raised an eyebrow, rubbing at his forehead with a fat finger. Rising he moved carefully over to the edge of the pool...

And saw Sonnie Wu Abyssalstar sitting, apparently quite content (if with comically puffed cheeks). Not quite sure what to do, he waved down into the pool and gestured over to Seraphina, pantomiming eating.

Then he returned to his seat, picked up his plate and headed over to the others.

"I smell something cooking."

His plate was already two thirds full.

[Vincent Black]

Vincent got out of the pool and started to make himself a plate. "Here you go Fugly." Vincent said as he threw a rib to the dog, as well as helping himself to a couple ribs and some baked beans and potato salad. He grabbed himself a Tecate and pushed a lime into the bottle neck looking to Circe "Hey Circe want a brew? How about you Anatole?" He was not sure if they liked the Mexican beer, but it was definitely one of his favorites.

[Sonnie Wu]

Fugly was emotionally torn between his two goals: Eat the burger, and get cuddles. Trying to eat while being cuddled by Circe was proving difficult, but the mongrel didn't want to miss out on either. He made do, somehow.

The addition of a BBQ rib only managed to divide his attention further.

Sonnie, still seated at the bottom of the swimming pool, was wondering how long she'd been down there, as she had no watch, and her phone was not waterproof. She was probably running our of oxygen, she figured, as her sight was starting to blur and her lungs was aching. Maybe this wasn't such a good idea, after all.

Thankfully, Anatole gave her an easy out when he mimed the dinner bell.

Any excuse was a good one, so the Beast resurfaced and sucked in air. "Woo! That's..." pant "...exhilarating!" pant "I was told..." pant "...that food is ready?" pant pant pant. Despite needing to catch her breath, the Monkey Girl was already climbing out of the pool and heading for her bag, which had a beach towel.

[Seraphina]

Laughing, “Not wisdom, just experience.” She knew food could drive the other Spring.
“He is the best boy.” She nods in agreement with Circe.

“Yes, please no dunkies with food,” laughing again, “I think my pool guy would have a fit.” Cause of course she doesn’t clean it herself.

A smile, “I’m doing well, business is booming and I’ve even gotten back into singing at some local nightclubs.” If the Summer was asking about Rhodes and how Sera was coping with that, that would have to wait. Sera was not bringing the party down with her sorrows. “How about you?”

Grinning to Anatole, “There is many things cooking! Help yourself!” she had grilled quite a few burgers, hot dogs and brauts.

Looking to Sonnie as she emerged, “Glad you came up! There is a ton to choose from, or, have a little bit of everything!” one thing Lost knew how to do right, have buffets! “So, do you think Fugly would have checked on you? Or would he have abandoned you for the food?” of course Sera would have saved her best friend if need be, but she was curious.
