Stay by Ghost featuring Patrick Wilson

Sitting at the foot of her bed, she opened a box and began pulling out pictures and notes.

The first picture was one of her and Rhodes, both smiling happily with the Eiffel Tower glowing behind them. She feels a sad smile tug at the corners of her mouth at the memory. That had been the night he proposed and she will never forget how nervous he had been at the table that night. And how his face had lit up when she said yes and they both cried tears of joy and happiness.

Putting it down, another was taken out, this one on their wedding day, first dance as husband and wife. A translucent hand gently touches the photo, a tear slipping from her sapphire eyes. Another picture showed them smiling with Sonnie and Circe beside them. Everyone was laughing and having the best day. She remembered how scared and nervous she had been that day, wearing the dress her best friend had spun for her, a surprise Rhodes had worked out for her. There had never been a happier moment for her then when she saw him at the altar, smiling and encouraging her in a way only he could.

If this world is wearing thin
And you’re thinking of escape
I’ll go anywhere with you
Just wrap me up in chains
But if you try to go alone
Don’t think I’ll understand

Then her eyes fall upon the small box, and she slowly picks it up and opens the lid.

Resting inside on silk was her broken wedding ring. Resting in two pieces, the rose black and withered. Any happiness that had been in her heart from before was quickly overrun with anger.

He broke their Oath, broke their Vows. And she didn’t even know if he was alive or dead. If he was still in the mortal world or if he had been taken back to his Keeper. There was no trace…there was no answers…only questions and a burning rage deep within. She would have given him anything in the world, done anything for him. And he threw her away like she was nothing.

Every night she still looked for him. But she didn’t know what she would do if she found him.
Would she run to him and embrace him?

Would she attack him in the Dreamscape?

There was just no answer for her. And not having an answer was slowly eating her away.

But the anger wasn’t going anywhere. There was part of her that wished him pain and suffering above any he had ever felt before. She wanted him to feel the pain she felt…the way her heart had been ripped from her chest and shattered. The way her whole world had been shattered as if what they had together was nothing.

If he was back with his Keeper, that dark part of her heart wanted him to suffer.

You’d better hope and pray that you make it safe
Back to your own world
You’d better hope and pray that you’ll wake one day
In your own world
‘Cause when you sleep at night they don’t hear your cries
In your own world
Only time will tell if you can break the spell
Back in your own world

And yet, the other part of her, the one she was familiar with, just wanted to know he was ok.
