[Rhodes]

Rhodes held up a hand gently to Sera's protests. "I never took it as such. I know you would never mean offence. Still, as you say, perhaps later." He and his wife knew one another well.

The Dread Lord rose from his seat, easily looking the newcomer in the eyes. "Excellent. I would not want a guest to feel uncomfortable, after all." He steps forwards a little, the mantle lowering the temperature several degrees. "I tend to keep things simple. For the day, we will not intentionally perform harm against each other. Maintaining the pact will be financially profitable - in so much as one can do in a day - but breaking it will make us.... unfortunate? After all, accidents do happen." The Air tingles as the Wyrd flows into his words, enveloping and waiting for the confirmation for binding.

The words come easy, a pledge he has made varieties on several times before in exactly these circumstances.

Least he saw the value in a Pledge, bonus points for the new guy.

The Nix will set to filling a cup, she then sets it in front of him, “There you go.” Life was easier when she could do things for others.

Nodding to Rhodes, she pours herself some coffee and offers some to him as well before sitting again.

At the change in temperature, she feels a shiver run up her spine and down her limbs. Part of her wanted to shoot him a glare, but he was in his element, doing his thing. Translucent hands wrap around the mug as she takes a small sip.

Though she doesn’t feel obligated to swear to the Pledge, she does so anyways. It might help Vincent feel more at ease having all of them bound to it.

A simple nod, “Sounds fair.” And her own Wyrd flows into her agreeing.

"The pledge is fair." says Vincent as his Wyrd flows into the agreement. "Now that we are on equal footing, I would like to formally introduce myself. I am Vincent Black. I come from up North in the Oregon woods. As I am new to town I am currently courtless and looking to a court to become a member of. If that makes any sense. I currently work as a freelance Bounty Hunter, and have worked for both mortal and Fae."

Vincent felt the need to let them know his intentions as well as his vocation. If not to give him a chance at membership, but to maybe put a ear-worm in their heads in the case they are in need of his services.

[Rhodes]

The Dread Lord inclines his head thankfully to the beautiful woman, and again, respectfully but not low, to his new guest.

"Fascinating." After the failure of his hunt last year, a bounty hunter was certainly an interesting option. The Wyrd Provides.

The Fairest drew himself up to his full height, standing only a little taller than Vincent though markedly slender of build. "It seems you are in fortune, Mr Black. I am the Dread Lord of Sacramento... and Director of the City Freehold." The Flowering's voice rumbled deeply as he watched the Beast carefully, a small smirk on his lips. Safe? Not necessarily, but being anything less than Bold would be unSeeming. Still, in his own domain it would have been foolish to challenge him here, even for a bounty hunter. The leaves continued to rustle in the winds around his feet - the Autumn's Mantle always seemed to play into the dramatic. He gestured a hand to the Treasured. "This enchanting lady is Seraphina. If a Court is what you seek, the Leaden Mirror is always keen for individuals of talent. If that is not your inclination, I am sure I can arrange a meeting with other courtly monarchs of the City. However, if it is the city you are more interested in staying within, we have a few.... colloquial practices borne of necessity to make an individual a member of the Freehold." A thin eyebrow arched. "So which is it, Mr Black?"

Clearly, the man liked the sound of his own voice.

Still holding her cup, “Makes perfect sense.” A bounty hunter? Interesting. “I hope the trip here was safe and uneventful.” She’d never been to Oregon that she can remember.

The deep rumble of his voice never got old to hear. It added a layer of power to his words, and she was sure that was the purpose. A small smirk touching her lips as she listened.

A translucent hand unwraps from the cup and offers a small wave, “I’m also the Vernal Sovereign, so if you had questions in the future about Spring, I’m always happy to provide answers.” Courtless were always exciting to her, seeing another Lost find their Court was a fascinating process.

She was content to sit back and let Rhodes do his thing.

[Vincent Black]

An invite to join a court so fast, he felt honored, but weary. He knew not to expect complete transparency from the Lord of the Autumn Court. But at the same time how can he deny such an invitation. As well as an invitation into the Freehold. As much as he was prepared to be courtless, he knew safety came in numbers. "I appreciate the invitation into your court, and I will gladly accept membership. I was prepared to remain without a court, but I see no reason not to accept your offer of membership."

Vincent then addressed Seraphina "The trip was pretty uneventful Sera. Which honestly is a relief as you never know how events will unfold especially when you journey to a new city."

To be bound by the Pledge all parties need to spend the WP.

And joining anything after Chargen, like with Entitlements, needs play time. 3 to 6 months of play time before Vincent can join a Court.

Rhodes smiles and nods as Sera adds her own piece to the comments.

He does hold up a hand. "I think you misunderstand me, Mr Black. While I am indeed interested in recruiting more to my Court's number, this was not an offer... yet. Such a decision is not to be made hastily. Do you believe in the Autumn Court's philosophy? Our methodology? Our understanding of Fear?" He shakes his head, though there is still an easy smile. "There is plenty of time to discuss and introduce Courtly matters once we have properly initiated you." There's a frown. "You see, the Freehold has a regularly fluctuating population and as such the Wyrd is particularly turbulent, causing a Freehold Oath to be regularly broken and impractical for more permanent residents. We have, however, found an alternative in the form of a magical artifact - A Wyrdstone. Performs a similar function while ensuring there are no Loyalists among our number."

The smile, a little sinister, returns. "It's perfectly safe, of course. It will have the added side effect of allowing other Freehold members bound to it to recognise you as one of our own. The Bonding fades rapidly if one leaves the city too long." Rhodes looks to Sera. "I believe it's in storage. Shall we?"
