That strange sense, Clarity-gained, rings within Rhodes' mind, echoing what he had just said of Fear. There was definately something supernatural near, not necessarily in this room but further in to the House, though the effects of whatever it was could be felt in the quick repairing of the glass and the held door.

From where they stand they have four options. An open arch way leading right, a tight hallway straight on, the grand marble staircase leading up, or another archway leading left.

From his Kenning, Rhodes can tell that the source is just deeper.

The Nix offers a quick nod to Sonnie, obviously agreeing with that assessment.

“That’s another good point.” The Beast was on top of it tonight. Which was why she was badass.

A shrug, “I would have thought there would at least be a guide or something. Hell, maybe someone even trying to sell us memorabilia or something.” Cause that was thing she saw online. A place that took pictures of you getting scared and then tried to sell them to you. “Never heard of a place that just gives you free reign to just go wherever you want.” A weird way to go about it, but, whatever.

Sapphires watch him while also still looking around.

“Getting someone to a hospital?” Rhodes would know her tone, one of guilt for not noticing something or someone hurt. Was someone really that hurt and she missed it? Absently, she begins chewing her bottom lip.

Seemed only natural that their very own Dread Lord would point out things about Fear and suspense. “Ok, I can see that. Building the suspense and all that.” Made sense.

“Well, I know in horror movies it is always bad to split up.” That should just be common sense really. “So which way did we want to go first? Check out the first floor then move to the second?” looking at the options, “I’m kinda leaning towards left or right. Cause that tight hallway just doesn’t look fun.” Not that she minded tight spaces, but it seemed prime jump scare territory.

Sonnie looks around the room, studying the possible exits.

"You're right, Sera. Tight hallways can be bad. Let's go somewhere with room to... move." Fight is what she meant. Not something she wanted to do in tight quarters while trying to guard the Treasured's body. "So.... one of these archways, then?" The Beast wasn't in charge here, and was content to let the Fairest choose a path, as long as it wasn't the tight hallway.

Rhodes inhales slowly, releasing the grip on the magic of the Kenning. At Sera's question, he shrugs. "Hard to say. Different ways are uncertain." He looks back to the women with him. "I can't see any special effects in here. I'm sure there will be some deeper in the house." It was hard to say much more, but he was sure Sera at least would understand.

The Flowering steps forwards and gently takes her hand. "You were keen to get inside. Don't worry darling. I'm sure her friends have everything in hand."

"Sounds good to me. Let's go left," Rhodes nods in agreement with Sera and Sonnie. He adds a half-smile, and steps past to head through the left archway.

There's magic here, and I'm going to find it.

To the left they venture. Finding a formal lounge room, with a large sectional, and marble faced fireplace. All of which has been, not quite hidden, the house proud owners would never hide their things, but definately under layers of Halloween chic. A family of skeletons resting on the couch, layers of cobwebs, with plastic spiders resting upon them.

Nothing out of the ordinary, until -

BANG!
BANG!

Gunshots, coming from upstairs, and an almost imperceivable shudder, a small earthquake maybe? With those plastic spiders shaking loose the cobwebs and falling to the floor.

[Seraphina]

See, she knew Sonnie would get it. Totally about if they had scare actors and them being able to get the scare on them. Totally.

Eyes look to the archways, not really sure which way to go.

So far, besides a door slamming, this wasn’t very scary. Which wasn’t a bad thing, considering how she performed at the last corn maze her and Sonnie went to. But that was between the two Springs. And Fugly. And the scare actor.

A glance to Rhodes, his words sticking with her. He was sure there will be some deeper in the house? What had he found or seen?

The hand was gratefully accepted, she needed it. “But I could have saved them the hassle.” Which would have raised questions. “But that’s for another time.” Not dwelling, this was her not dwelling.
“Left it is then.” Following behind.

Taking in the room, “Hmmm, the skellies are a cute touch.” Kind of creative, but still cute. Letting go of Rhodes hand, she begins to walk closer, maybe making sure they were fake? But before she could even make it close enough, the loud sounds!

The Nix almost jumps out of her skin at the sudden sound and then the shudder beneath her feet.

“What the….” Sapphires darting around in panic. Was it an earthquake?!

[Sonnie Wu]

The room seemed innocent enough, in her view. Nothing threatening to the Queen (or King, since he was here, too). Sonnie poked at the plastic skeletons with amusement. "Hey, buddy! I got a bone to pick with you!"

She laughed and looked at Sera, "Get it? A bone? Skeletal humor can be quite sophisticated, you know?"

Then, the sudden banging sounds.

Like a flash, she had her staff out and ready, and she moved to cover her Court Monarch. "Can't be real, right? In this day and age, gunshots bring the cops..."

[Rhodes]

Sera always felt guilt for not being helpful. "Perhaps. But that may have raised more questions," he replied softly.

Emerald eyes scan the room. Surreal, but not fear-inducing. He rolls his eyes at Sonnie's joke - still. it was nice to try and alleviate the tension.

For a moment, anyway.

Rhodes leapt into the air at the sound of the gunshots. Panickily he flooded his coat with magic to imbue it's defenses. "Can't say. You would have thought so," he replies to Sonnie. She was right -it had to be fake... but it sounded real, and that was enough to make Fear happen. If you thought it was real, it may as well be. "The others before us can't have had the same or this place would be crawling."

The Dread Lord gritted his teeth and swept forwards, secreting himself in a corner so he could oversee the archway they had entered. There is still magic here. We need to find it.

The House is eerie in it's complete silence following the loud ringing gunshots.

Sera looks around, after earthqake? the House is already as still as it is silent, but she looks, she slowly realizes what had been gleaming white and perfect under artificial, plastic and fabric is now, age worn, stained underneath collapsing bone and sinew and skittering spiders...

[Seraphina]

The Treasured giggles at the joke made by Sonnie. “Oh, I get it, good one!” she declares.

An unsure shrug as the Beast moved closer to her, “I honestly don’t know, it sure sounded real. But as to it bringing the cops, it would depend on how the house is designed.” Sure, gunshots were loud, but there were ways to muffle them, if her knowledge from movies was spot on. It usually wasn’t.

With the sudden appearance of magic, Sera was caught a bit off guard. Looking to Rhodes, she notes his coat, though it surprised her. But to be fair, the gun shots sure as hell sounded real. And her without her own jacket she felt a bit defenseless, but hers wasn’t really an all-weather one.

While Rhodes moves to a corner, Sera remains in place by Sonnie, a choice to face whatever came.
Catching the change in the skellies, and the appearance of real spiders, she steps back quickly, wanting distance from the creepy crawlies. “Ewwwww,” mutters Sera, pointing to the now real looking bones and spiders, “please tell me I'm not the only one seeing this.”
