This woman was weird. The scents made no sense.

Sonnie stayed on guard, staff held before her, though she made no threatening moves. Yet. She tilted her head to one side, in morbid curiosity.

"Are you a parrot?"

An odd question, but she was testing something.

[Saber Sloth]

"Okay. Okay." Comes the echo, "Out, out." a teetering nod, like the only thing connecting head to neck to body was those poorly done grafts, and nothing inside.

She spins on the ball of her bare foot and starts to walk out the door only to stop at Sonnie's question.

"N-n-n-n-" it's obvious what she's trying to say, but nothing but the first sound escapes her. But her teetering head is tilted to one side, and she's stopped her exit.

[Seraphina]

A parrot? Her eyebrow raising at the question. Weird question.

But she was focused not only on her pain and finding Rhodes, but getting the hell out of here.
Though the question was weird, the way this girl was acting was even weirder. Was she a puppet of some sort? Some type of upgraded type Fetch?

This was not her thing; she had never really put much thought into Fetches and the whole thing.

A glance to Sonnie, “Should we follow he…” her voice stopped as the girl, well, stops. “Maybe she can’t leave.” Trapped within the house, on some sort of loop? Back to the Beast, “Wait, aren’t there movies about stuff like this, people trapped in a loop of some kind? Like, she was running, scared, and now she seems stuck, like her loop was interrupted.” Her words soft and thoughtful as she tried to work it out. But was that a thing in real life? No. But in the Hedge? Who the hell knew for sure. “That can’t be it. But if it is, so we follow her?”

[Sonnie Wu]

Sonnie had a theory that this woman was just repeating words she heard, like some sort of poorly-made robot, but maybe that wasn't the case. She smiled apologetically, and waved the strange person onward, "Sorry, forget I asked! Lead the way!"

A helpless look was given to Sera, along with a shrug, "There's an exit... maybe she's it? With Machete Boy gone, she's got nothing to run from now. If there's a loop, maybe we broke it? C'mon, let's go. I'm sick and tired of this joint."

[Saber Sloth]

Nodding her teetering nod, the women turns again to the door, "Follow, follow." and with that, she steps out of the room for the Lost to follow.

She seems to stumble on her feet as she heads back the way she came, stopping, and peering over her shoulder every few steps to make sure the Lost are still following.

"Follow, follow."

Her steps are slow, and teetering, trying ever so hard to fight the urge to run and run and run, she leads them through the second floor, through the winding, labyrinthine halls and passed blood stained walls, and gore strewn rooms, further and further away from the staircases, and eventually to a room.

The hidden heart of the second floor.

Pristine, untouched by the horror outside it, save the work table in the centre and a fretting ghostly figure standing over it. Trying to pull together another fetch with the pulpy ruined head of the Pursuer.

The women, raises a shaking arm to point at the figure, and then at the Lost, "Out, out. Tick-tock-tick-tock-tick-tock-tick-" her sound devolved into those of a murmuring humanish clock.

[Seraphina]

Sera returned the look with a shrug, “There’s a chance, so, lets give it a try.” And she’ll follow behind Sonnie, arm still cradled against herself. Bleeding had stopped, but it wasn’t one hundred percent yet. “I am also sick and tired of it.” She wanted to find Rhodes, find the exit and burn this place down. Then a bath and some more healing. Though she if she had to guess, she figured the machete attack might leave a scar. Which was fine, she wasn’t that vain.

As they followed the girl, Sera gets why Sonnie asked that question. She was talking like a parrot.
Could she only repeat things? If so, why? Maybe a side effect of having her head reattached?

“We are.” She tries to assure the girl. But when you just almost had your arm amputated, you tend to be a bit cautious. Crazy huh?

“Ew.” She mutters under her breath. What the hell was this place?! With the winding halls, her and Sonnie would have probably taken even longer to find their way.

But then, she led to it! A clean room, one not like the others! Was the exit here?! More importantly, was Rhodes here?!

Wait, was she trying to bring back thumpy?! No, that was not happening.

“Hey! No! What are you doing?!” She was quite ok with not going another round with him. Well, with Sonnie going another round with him.

"Well, this is new," she commented softly to Sera, as they entered the never-before-seen area.

Then, she took it all in, as they arrived at their guide's destination. The clean workshop, the ghostly stranger, and... the Pursuer Fetch!?!

She reacted on instinct, as any Beast would.

"OH, FUCK NO!" the Beast growled loudly as she bolted forward, moving to stop the figure from reassembling the fetch. Her staff lashed out, aiming was to knock the head off the table and away from the makeshift body!

Staff brandished, Sonnie rushes the distance between the door and the table, and sweeps the ruined, pulpy mess of a head off the worktable. The ghostly figure - now that Sonnie was closer isn't a ghost-ghost, or Sonnie doesn't think so, but a ghostly person. A Darkling maybe? A Wizened? She can't tell, but the head's off the table and crashes to the floor with a wet sound all is silent until -

- "nonononONONONO!"

Completely ignoring Sonnie, she falls to the ground to gather up the ruined head, trying and failing to push the gory mess back together to bring it back to the worktable.


To the side, the women, keeps tick-tocking and her teetering head lulls back and forth, and her hand is raised again, pointing in the same direction, this time pointing to the table, and not the figure wailing and kneeling. The worktable with the half finished fetch and whatever miscellaneous supplies needed for the 'craft' and upon the foot of the table, a shiny gold pocketwatch.

[Seraphina]

She simply nods to Sonnie. A clean room without blood and gore? Sign her up.

Thankfully could say what the Treasured couldn’t. Well, she could, but she was still in shock over what they were seeing. And as the Beast swings her staff, Sera was right there behind her in case this ghost(?) took exception to it. Not that she could do much, but she’d sure give it a go.

A look of disgust appears as she watches the woman fall to the floor to try and, well, salvage, the head.

Seemed their parrot deadalivefetchwoman was going to become a clock now. But she was still pointing at something. Sapphires look from the girl to the table and see the shiny pocket watch. Eyes widen, the sounds the girl was making, pointing to a pocket watch, did she mean it was their way out?

Might as well give it a go, and she will walk to the foot of the table and attempt to pick it up. Not only was it shiny, but gold! One of her favorite colors.

"Sorry, no." The snarl in Sonnie's voice suggested she was not at all sorry. She wasn't going to let this... Darkling(?)... put the Psycho Killer Fetch back together. It was only how pathetic the woman seemed that the Claviger didn't attack her directly. For now.

Instead, she just used her staff to jab at the mush pile, splattering it around more, and hampering the ghostly figure's efforts to reassemble it. "Can't let you bring it back to life. It tried to murder us, you know?" Despite how casual she sounded, her expression was one of annoyance and disdain. "Time to talk, honey. Who are you, and why are you doing this? Also, how do we leave? Oh, and where is Rhodes?"

She seemed to have jumped to the conclusion that the fetch-maker here was the BBEG of this weird-ass house. Was there a better candidate, though?

Victim Girl's tick-tocking was not unnoticed, but it seemed Sera was on top of it, picking up some sort of watch? So, the Beast remained focused on being an absolute roadblock to the Darkling's goal.
