The Twisted Woman attacked Sera again. Thankfully missing, but... it infuriated the Beast.

Whether she bulldozed her way through the magic, or it simply wore off, Sonnie didn't know, and it didn't matter. She spun forward and whipped her staff at the Woman's head...

And it connected hard! There was an audible crack as the enchanted weapon crashed into the side of the Woman's skull, delivering a possible knockout blow!

Sonnie uses Temple Strike from the Staff Fighting merit! Assuming the Twisted Woman is size 5, this attack knocks her unconscious for 5 rounds and does 5 Bashing damage!

Hedgespun Staff and Pendant activated. Sonnie's DEFENSE is now 6, plus 1 ARMOR against Bashing Damage (Kung Fu Merit).

Fang & Talon 2: Beast's Keen Senses active. Sonnie has +4 dice to all Wits-based perception rolls for the rest of the scene.

Thankfully, the poor girl misses, not that Sera had been too concerned with it. But in case, she steps off to the side.

She can move again! Yes! Now she can get a little distance while she contemplates her next move. A hand touches the dagger, pulling it out of its sleeve, but held it lowered near her leg.

Her fist was raised again when she saw, and heard, the sound Sonnie’s staff made.

Ouch, that one was going to leave a mark. But she hoped the girl would go down from it.

Sera is going to hold her action to see if the poor girl is still on her feet

The roar of the Dread Lord's Fear, the sharp withering sting of his glamour paired with the Claviger's fierceness to protect her Queen hit in tandem as the Monkey's staff connects!

The body collapses, like a puppet with her strings cut, then two things happen simontainously the head rolls away, eyes glazed and blood pooling out from where the still twisted neck rests, while the body disintegrates into leaves and straw.

Silence returns to the House.

Rhodes stalked forwards, standing over the scattered drying flora, giving a quick glance to the monkey. Nice shot. He dropped to one knee, grabbing a handful of the leaves and straw and bundling them into a pocket. Fetch components were potent magical materials, and there was no way he was going to pass up the chance when they fell into his lap.

"Just when the place was really beginning to grow on me, something like this happens," he muttered. A Fetch.... keeping the place was a real problem now. If it was a Gentry agent then it would terrify Changelings and humans alike, but the risk really wasn't worth it. He stood back up, rolled his shoulders and looked over his wife. "Are you alright?" He glanced to Sonnie after a few seconds pause. "And you?"

Sonnie still held her after-strike action pose, not to show off, but because she was shocked at the result.

She had practiced that maneuver a thousand times in the dojo, all part of her bojutsu training. That strike should have merely stunned the woman for a few moments, ideally long enough to tie her up or at least run away before she woke up again.

But, her head came off. She died.

Sonnie had never killed anyone before. Briarwolves, sure, but those weren't people. This was some poor mortal woman. Despite what her more feral side wanted (a side that was oddly quiet now) in that moment of danger and anger, she hadn't wanted to actually kill the woman. That was why she had tried the temple strike. What would she do now that... wait... leaves? Straw?

"Oh, thank god, it's just a fetch..." she breathed a sigh of relief and relaxed out of her kata. Then, Sonnie blinked as the realization truly sunk in, "Wait, it was a fetch?! What's a fetch doing here?? Does that mean there's... there's one of them around?"

She had resumed her martial arts stance, staff held ready, as she eyed every shadow and corner suspiciously.

"I've, uh, I've had better days..." was her answer to Rhodes.

Before she even had a chance to take a swing with her dagger…the woman dropped. And the breath she didn’t even know she had been holding was released.

Now she wasn’t sure what she was expecting, but a body made out of leaves and straw? Not on the list at all. An emotionless stare watches as Rhodes seems to pocket some of the material, making her remember, this was a fetch!

A fetch?!

It took her a few seconds to register he was speaking to her, a couple blinks, “What? Oh, yeah, totally fine. Though I haven’t landed a punch in what feels like years and I forgot that it can hurt.” A nervous chuckle, more to herself than anyone else.

“Or someone knows how to make them.” That was a thing right?

Sonnie resuming her stance makes Sera glad she hadn’t put her dagger away. “So,” a deep breath, “we have a few options here, I think. Continue to try and find a way out of here,” another pause, “or dig deeper and find out just what the hell is going on.” Her vote for digging deeper, cause this place just became extremely dangerous to have around.
