It was interesting to see the plain dead grass and then a summer green lawn. Someone really liked their building.

Being sneaky wasn’t something she was known for, but, she’d try. And if it didn’t work? Well, charming for the win right? But her mind kept wondering where Rhodes was. He wouldn't abandon her...would he?

The perfectly kept lawn somehow threw Gerrit off. Was this an extension of Anne's influence? Was this a trap? Was it a coincidence?
If Seraphina was not totally against it, Gerrit would take the rear - to have someone able to take a hit stand between the Spring Monarch and potential attacks from behind.
But somehow luck was not with the Onyx that night. Just like the nights before, week after week.

There was something about the grounds, Sera slips from bush to bush easy as you please, while Circe's timing is just a little off. Gerrit it seems to have completely forgotten that there's anything there to hid behind, or that he needs too.

Sera, watching where she's going and where to slink to next in the line of bushes and conventetly places trees, doesn't notice what Circe does. Circe watches it in slow motion. People.

"Hey! What are you doing out there?!" a moment, and lights flicker on.

Gerrit, lost in his own head, misses the people, and the voice. But catches the light as it blazes to life. Illuminating the area. Bright and blinding. It was a trap. Anne's most definately. The party had triggered something as they walked by.

Can I get more Dex+Stealth rolls, if you want to keep yourself hidden/get into some cover?

Well, that was the flaw with this plan. She really needed to grab a Smoke Contract if she was going to be waltzing around in heavy armor away from a film set. That or a serious disguise Token. Better idea, hide then think.

So she decides to try and stay hidden, sure, she could help talk them out of whatever this was.
But she needed to know, well, what this was. Was this part of Ann’s property? Someone elses? What story would she need to weave?

Rhodes stood, back to the wall, panting. The others had gone on, but he had found he couldn't move.

Fear. It was inescapable. And now, the chance to face Ann? To prove himself the true Dread Lord over his most poinant rival of reputation?

Daunting. Terifying.

Odds are she had no idea who he was, which ran hot knives of fury over his spine. More than anything, it was the fear. it had been paralyzing, literally.

Hands shaking, he pulled the flask from his pocket and took a belt. The heat ran down his throat and shocked some control into his fingers. Grimacing, he looped around the wall after the others, stucking to the shadows.

Darn. Did he just put the whole operation at risk? Did he put the others in danger? He looked around, trying to decide where to hide from this trap. There! He tried to move but tripped over his own feet and landed on his side with a painful thud.

The shock of his aching skin was good for something, at least: it cleared the panic and made him realize that he had almost abandoned the others. After springing this trap himself! Sighing, he turned around to face the blinding light and waited for the things to come. Maybe this would give the others enough time to get away.

The light should bring the Lost into stark focus, but it does make the shadows longer, thicker. Easier to hide in....if you're anyone but the Winter. Crashing to the ground, all attention is drawn towards the Ogre.

"S'fuck he's doing?" "Looks like a drunk, should I call someone to get him in the drunk tank?"

The Lost are free to continue....without Gerrit.

There was no way Sera was leaving Gerrit behind. Sure, they had a mission to do, but leaving one of their own behind was not her MO.

Nope.

This was going to play out a few different ways, and she hoped it would be in her favor. She knew Circe was armed to the teeth, which would draw the wrong attention and wrong reaction.

Before stepping out of her spot, she gives herself a little, boost. If they were Mortal it wouldn’t matter, but she was planning on using this anyways.
