Corn was not aware they were fighting. He heard
Phoenyx
chanting and then was hit - hard.
He brought up Matter armor, but it was probably already too late - she would get two good hits in, while he is still scrambling to put up defenses. A good lesson for the future to not sit there while others are about to hit you.

Matter armor up when it is his turn. I took the -3 for 3B
For scene effects, see Minisheet. No monthly rituals at this time. Occult 4 because Mysterium is about the knowledge!
The blast was already showing the bruises on the Moros' body. It was a vulgar opening, but a restrained attack nontheless. Perhaps it was time to demonstrate her point about indirect attacks.
This time Phoenyx doesn't even speak - she just reaches towards a wall socket and a bolt of electricity Arcs out towards Corn!
Initiative - Phoenyx 15, Corn 14 (3B)
Don;t forget to roll for Paradox when casting spells
This attack is aimed like a firearms attach again, so armour would usually apply - If it hits Corn takes 4 bashing as per the electrocution rules. Aeolus just tagging you if you want to make a ruling here since I'm playing with the weird spells!
Obrimos Adamantine Arrow, Cloaked Monthly Rits (in minisheet)
Corn
please include the spell you're casting in your roll-description.
Paradox only needs to be rolled for spells of rank 3 and higher, so assuming he just cast an Armor there is no need for a Dox roll. Likewise, Influence Electricity is a rank 2 spell.
Please don't "pre-act". Roll initiative and then act in turn order. Since Phoenyx has a higher Initiative she acted first, so there is no armor to prevent her from hitting anything. Then Corn took his turn. It's
Phoenyx
' turn again.
Corn is now at 7B, so all his actions take a -2 penalty. Taking damage, however, does not reduce your dice pool per se (as we've discussed in chat).
Aeolus , With all due respect, if Corn is at 1B, he wouldn't cast shield.
Also, that would be Phoenyx taking three actions (High Speech, Telekinetic strike, influence electricity) before Corn could act. That's why I assumed it was my turn. In any case, I am OK with taking the bashing, no shield and being at 7B, but casting shield at what is very possibly the last act of Corn before he's knocked unconscious is a bit too naive, even for Corn.
For scene effects, see Minisheet. No monthly rituals at this time. Occult 4 because Mysterium is about the knowledge!
Fine, you don't take the shield action. It is now Corn's turn.
Next time when you roll for initiative, please don't include an action in your post before the turn order ist determined.
Things were going downhill faAAaaaAAAAAaaaaaAAAA...
the moros teeth chattered as he spasmed violently and uncontrollably as electricity coursed through him. He was in pain and straining. This was beyond "an inconvenience and some pain". He felt as if he has got out of a car crash. It was an effort to stay upright. Stars were dancing at the edge of his vision. Well, inside his vision as well.
In desperation, his instincts kicking in despite Phoenyx 's suggestions he stumbled a couple of steps towards the Arrow, closing the distance to 6-7 feet, while forming the imago in his mind. It was probably the last piece of magic he would use before Phoenyx woke him up after he crushed. And he really had to keep the Abyss from meddling as the Paradox backlash could finish what Phoenyx has started. He was a breeze away from knocked down after all...

Corn rolls 1 to PaRAdoX+1-3 (10 Again, Chance)

Throwing a lot of mana to smooth the passing of the one spell he hoped would at least buy him time, Corn finished the imago in his head as he ground his teeth and reached for the floor. It was an all or nothing effort...

Corn rolls 6 to Greater transmogrification-2(wounds)-4(area) (10 Again, WillPower)

...that worked!
The ground under Phoenyx vaporized, turning to thin mist.
I took 2 volume) factors, so 20 cubic yards of solid are turned to mist. Corn goes for a square 2 yards width (one yard on each side of Phoenyx) x 2.5 yards long (2 yards between him and Phoenyx and 1/2 a yard behind her) x 4 yards deep.
I used greater transmogrification. Supposedly, lesser transmogrification could have done the trick as "vapor" counts as liquid, but just in case, I used greater.
Transmogrification works like transmute liquid, which gives extra success to volume, not potency. If that is the case, the extra success would go to make the square 4 yards wide x 2.5 yards long (Corn doesn't want to fall in) x 4 yards deep (corn doesn't want to actually harm Phoenyx despite the horrors she put him through).
I assume there is some reflexive roll that Phoenyx could do to grab on the pit's opening. If I have miscalculated somehow and the spell doesn't work, or Corn is at risk to fall in as well, assume Corn erred as well.
The fight was ending and he was still standing! That was rewarding on itself, although the bruises from the telekinetic attack and the burns from the electric shock were not.
Corn checks that
Phoenyx
is all-right after the fall, as dropping from that height, even with mage shield that the Arrow had up, is not devoid of danger - she could have hit her head. After making sure that the Obrimos was safe and conscious, he concluded that the fight was a 'draw' (as in he was still standing even though he didn't manage to do much more). Corn draw through his inner reserves to heal himself from the worst effects and found it exceedingly difficult in his current state.

At least he was operational again.
After helping Phoenyx get out of the hole he made, he thanked her for the lesson (brutal as it have been) and let the huge crater close. Inspecting the soundness of the building after putting such a hole in the foundation, he repaired any damage and left.
As we ran out of time, I concluded it was a draw. I didn't want to say that Phoenyx landed badly or anything. With the mist in the way (Corn turned the ground to mist) it would be hard to tell.
If needed, he would call
Aurora
but I doubt Phoenyx would be unable to heal herself even if she knocked her head and was stunned for a few seconds.
Thank you for the scene and sorry it had to be cut short.
