PrP: Down in the Dirt

Circe:
"Hey, happy to help ya practice. It is the Summer thing ta do, oh ho ho!" Circe responds with a thumbs up.


As for the toilets, "Yeah, its already labeled, we know what it is. Somebody else can fix it," she nods in agreement with her fellow Fairest.


Then it is off to the other tunnel!

Narration:


The dead cockroach remains are noted by the crunch of the ladies stepping on their shells. The Lost don't find much for several minutes of walking. There are not any large off shoots or alcoves this time. Nor do they see any new predators, prey, vermin, abominations, or other things. Nothing of note is seen as they walk.


The sound of rats skittering in the dark is occasionally heard though. The Fairest find naught of interest and continue on in the dark. For a good 20 minutes of walking.


Then they find stairs that would have gone up. But the stairs foot is all that is identifiable as stairs. The rest is building debris mostly encased in concrete. The Queens have found the end of this tunnel spur, a demolished building that has been filled in.

An Int + Crafts roll can tell them more about the debris, either as a team roll or separate rolls. But one thing the ladies already know, this is the end of this tunnel.

[Seraphina]

Was she relieved Circe agreed to pawning the toilets off on someone else? Yes. One thousand times yes.

The sounds were not pleasant. From the crunching of the shells, to the skittering of unseen rats. Not something she would add to her play list anytime soon. Or ever.

Stopping, a hand was placed on her hip as she looked at the debris, “Well, guess they didn’t want those stairs to be used. But I can say if the stairs went down, I might be inclined to start digging through it.” Because who knows what else there could be under them?! “If it’s blocked off solid, could make for good storage.” Or…something.

Circe:
Circe had a rather Summer response to the shell crunching. She actively tried to spot ones to stomp on. And wow, that was one way to end a search. Really blocked off.


"It'd be with pick and shovel ya know," she chuckles are Seraphina, "Unless the map puts us under a bank or something." Circe sounds thoughtful. Mostly because she was weighing the pros and cons of having the option to tunnel into a bank. "Eh, only if we need emergency funds," she muses aloud before joining Seraphina in inspecting the debris.

Narration


Circe, given what she has seen before, is sure this is more demolition infill. It makes sense to her. Bunch of crap covered in concrete.


Seraphina can tell these stairs are old and once went up. The debris is both very old and not so very old, though the concrete was clearly part of an infill. The tidbit came into her mind, how demolished buildings that were built over had the hole filled in with debris and sometimes concrete if it was being built over. To have a hidden tunnel like this even being filled with concrete, somebody wanted to make sure the building above had a solid foundation. Digging up might be structurally unsound or lead to an occupied space. And she can see how to shore it up to make it better for storage purposes.

Narration:

The ladies have mapped out this spur of the tunnels completely now. Except for assigning somebody else to inspect the toilets. Perfectly fine, for certain that. Now it is a matter of figuring out what the fill ins are under and maybe exploring elsewhere. The former is something better one above ground with at least Google Maps to compare with.
