Over the past couple months, Sera had felt a stirring deep within herself. It was both exciting and terrifying at the same time. The urge was powerful, propelling her in all her actions, seeking what her body told her she needed. But it was also frustrating trying to figure out precisely what she craved. Her body longed for something.

But what?

Her scales felt like they were dry and itched, like wearing a new mohair sweater. Whos fibers were coarse and could be grating against the skin. All you wanted to do when you moved was itch. Your back, your shoulders, your arm, just a constant itch. And nothing she was doing was satisfying it. It felt like there was something wrong with the water and the moisturizer she used. Like it wasn’t what her body was searching for. It needed more.

A need for water. An urge to submerge herself in it, almost like a calling. Like the water was home, where she belonged.

But showers and baths were not satisfying the need. Even skinny dipping in her pool didn’t satisfy the need. There was something that wasn’t right about the water. It wasn’t soothing.

And then it happened one night.

It was raining, and as she sat there at her desk looking at the rain dance down the window, she knew.

Pushing up from her desk with a sudden burst of energy, the current dress design forgotten, her clothes dropped as she walked down stairs. Upon reaching the French doors to the patio, she pushed them open and stepped out, naked, into the rain.

It was then that she felt it. A sense of relief and elated state of mind as the rain cascaded over her body. The itching she had felt was soothed, and as she smiled and lifted her head into the rain, she felt at peace. A calm washing over her as she just lived in the moment.

A slumbering part of her, buried deep inside, was suddenly awakening.

There was something about the raw and natural feel of the rain that felt…right. The refreshing smells filled her nose, everything from the sweet and pungent-smell of the ozone to the pleasant almost earth like smell of the rain hitting the ground.

Raising her arms up, she felt a shift in the sensation of the water. She could no longer feel it falling on her bare skin. Opening her eyes, she looks to see the water not touching her. Her skin still dripped from before, but no new rain fell on it.

Turning her hands, she watches as the water seemed to avoid her skin. Eyes wide in wonder as she laughed, spinning around.
