Eulogy continued to write on his clip board. He offered Guru a warm smile and a nod.
The moros looked at Puck and replied. "Indeed. An introductory meeting might be a good idea."
He gave Corn a reassuring nod and smile.
He waited until an appropriate gap in the conversation before addressing the gathered mages. "Just as a little F.Y.I. It brings me great joy to announce the formation" He noticed Kaze speak to Crystal and walk out. He gave crystal a confused look but continued anyway. "Umm. The formatiom of a Cabal consisting of Crystal, Kaze, Guru and Myself."
Again he wrote on his clip board.
"Does anyone have anything else?"
Corn was taken by surprise by that. So many of the people he considered close to him formed a cabal and... he was not invited. A feeling of loneliness and being ... left outside arose in him. Why wasn't he considered? Was it because he was a 'part-time mage' that was mostly living his sleeper life?
A pity. The rejection stung a bit but Corn forcefully pressed it down. He was glad for his friends, even if they passed him up. Sure, he would love to be invited but he was a part-time mage. Could he split his considerably few "mage hours" between the Mysterium and a cabal? Or it would threaten his idyllic life as Theodor, with the family gatherings during the weekend and the lazy Sundays curled in the couch with Maria? Perhaps they were right to not consider him.
Putting the feelings of inadequacy and loneliness to the side, Corn smiled to his friends, a genuine smile.
"A cabal? Congratulations! What is the name? What is the theme? And most importantly? Are you all stoked about it? Because people still say stoked." he said as he looked towards Eulogy and the others.
A new Cabal?
Now that is exciting news!
A wide smile offered to those named, “Congrats guys! That’s awesome!” and she meant it. Cabals were good. It gave you people you could trust, and a place to belong. “What area are you claiming?” it was a good question in case another Cabal popped up. Or something.
Kaze's abrupt departure is noted in silence, before the mention of a new cabal has his attention diverted elsewhere. To the Mages that had invaded their territory for starters.
"I trust that this new formed cabal will take good care of their staked territory", which is his form of congratulating, really. Elation, maybe? It meant more eyes scanning for bad stuff.
Guru's stomach had twisted and turned and then stopped, he'd built this up so much in his mind that it had eaten him up inside. Then the reaction he got had seemed rather normal and he could let out a steady breath. He looked over and returned Aurora's smile with a grin and a nod.
It seemed the interrogation of their guest's was put on the back burner for now, there was other things to worry about now. There was enough information there to be dangerous and if people go asking around San Francisco in greater numbers. "Full Council Meeting sounds good, sure there's a lot to discuss."
it might draw attention to them sooner than later. Then Kaze's phone rang and he left, very unlike Kaze. Then he turned to Crystal and cocked his head as Eulogy revealed what was behind Door number two. Again he seemed to think something a bigger deal then it already was. Instead of a bang there was a fizzle. "We're in discussions over what area right now, plan is not to overextend ourselves and claim what we can't protect." He answered Aurora and then gave a nod to Winter acknowledge his concern for security.
He offered Corn a half smile, teasing out at least a little information for his friend. "We decided on The Caretakers." There was more work to do in the formation of the Cabal and with the cryptic departure there seemed to be a wrench in the works already.
Corn smiled. "Caretakers. A beautiful name. I wish you all the best, my friends and as always I am willing to help if you need me."
Belle's eyes briefly follow Kaze's departure, a bit of concern on the Warlock's face. I hope he's okay. The shift in topic calms her down a bit though, and she smiles at the mention of this new Cabal being formed. "Congratulations, all of you." She gives a nod in particular to Crystal, which clearly had the excitement of a full-on thumbs-up. Interesting name though. Figured you'd go for something more action-packed. Maybe Sacramento is quiet enough where you don't need your Cabal to sound like an A-list superhero team?
