The Flowering nods as Sera fills in Worm's questions. There was little more to add - she knew what he did. Though when she mentions the fruit, he feels a tingle in the Wyrd that connects him to his wife, and nods again. "I had. Waste not, want not." He intended to take some, after all. He didn't want to avoid mentioning it and the Wyrd take a malicious stance on his wedding vows.
Ram's confirmation was sealed with another nod. "It doesn't matter if the whole Hollow is destroyed, as such - as you say, removing that many people is probably beyond our skills. This is more tactical - orchard is the source of the Jamryn fruit they ferment and use to kidnap people. If that's gone, the main resource it provides is removed. The contract pushes plants to near-death, and it will only regrow with considerable care making it at least another few years until it can bare fruit." Ram's thought were something he considered himself, but one issue at a time. "If they choose to remain, the hollow becomes an outpost, one we know the location of. We can wear down wards and so on at a later date, if needs be."
Rhodes nods at Ram's suggestion. "Agreed. Technically, sight range - though I wouldn't want to test that theory too hard, especially at night where spotting an individual tree may be a challenge. A hundred yards, or so? Certainly enough to give us some breathing room. Though," he looks from Ram to Gerrit, "it's an Autumn special. People can add the tags - they just need to be there - but only I can actually do the contract." He had to admit it if only to himself - her was impressed. They were asking all the right questions, thinking carefully. And while not a fighter, the Dread Lord was certainly tactical. "There were at least a dozen guards, moving in pairs. We aren't there to kill or capture - if they haven't withdrawn, I expect this to be difficult enough without hauling uncooperative or unconscious prisoners around." He pauses. What about the prisoners? "The slaves are the gardeners. That.... we may have to play be ear. I'm not suggesting we leave them to rot but we cannot be distracted from the primary - taking the orchard out of play. We all know what it is like to be captives. This is about preventing more in the future." Harsh? perhaps. Rhodes considered it pragmatic, perhaps ruthlessly so.
And if it waves the power of Autumn in front of Ann's ego, so much the better.
He sighs heavily. It was a crucial point Gerrit had raised. "None of us have actually met Ann. Nothing suggests she will be there. We should stick with the plan as is, even if she is."
