He nodded at Phoenyx's words but he still looked slightly confused. "Yea, I mean, it might take some time but the end result is to be able to make it useable. This is more well tread ground for now, we're crawling before we walk." At least he was and there was a voice inside of him pushing him to fly higher and higher. Though Winter's words quieted it before it built to a crescendo.


Then the mood shifted again as Campanella's absence was noted and addressed. He gave a somber nod and offered a sympathetic frown to Phoenyx. He cleared his throat and looked back to the council at large rubbing at his cheeks for a second. Mordechai was stepping up to Councilor now, looked like people had been kicked in the pants to take charge. He gave Mordechai a small clap after he'd been affirmed into the position.


Then talk of an Astral Sphere that made travel easier had his eyes go wide and lean forward toward the words. He didn't know such a thing was possible, he'd written off the Realms Astral after a few experiments trying to develop the Arcana. It was difficult, the pattern just didn't come naturally to him it was trying to see the world upside down almost. "Back to your question, Thaumium can function as both sword and shield. It can protect your pattern from outside influence but it can also be used to hew at and sever another's If you're honestly interested in the discussion and theory of alchemy I'm sure we could arrange something."

[Winter]

Campanella's departure wasn't a surprising piece of news, just like himself, he had been distancing more and more from public matters. Perhaps the fresh infusion of blood was what the Consilium needed after all.
His interest perks at the mention of the Seer device, easier access to the astral meant one bargaining chip less.

[Phoenyx]

Phoenyx offered Guru a nod. "It sounds fascinating. I would be happy to discuss it further some time. Let me know when you are available."

She looked around. "I suppose this confirms there is no other official business. It also appears we are heading for a time of fewer members once again. I would like to remind you all that the Adamantine Arrow is here for your defense should you need it, and I will make myself available wherever possible. I am based in the Circle, but anyone who wishes for my contact details can have them. I also am available for more self-defense classes, should anyone wish." It was preying on her mind. Aurora made nine, but there had been few signs of the visitors that had been around.

The Councilor looked around the room, watching for any responses.

[Corn]

Corn spoke again. "I am at awe of the mages that found and this astral device! I applaud their efforts. I would like to know what happened with that Seer Temple and that Astral device. If our colleagues would give us a synopsis of their trials. I would also point out that if my fellow mystagogues want, I am fully willing to help them analyze that Astral device. "
Corn seems indeed glad that he's in the company of such people.

I am not asking for a lengthy exposition of a whole plot, just a slightly bigger synopsis that the mages of Sacramento would know.

[Puck]

Puck watched Eulogy and blinked. Did the Ladder not know he needed his path to pick him for councilor and not the other councilors? Not that it mattered. Corn voiced support, and that covered every moros in the city Puck knew of.

"Neat. Congrats to Councilor Eulogy."

Formal title for formal Ladders at formal meetings. Puck couldn't wait to just be Puck again.

"It was a thing that dragged you straight to a specific place in the Temenos." He had been meaning to study up on the Astral Realms and how to get there but that was on the list after learning Atlantean and other things. "The point was a ruined temple of the Seers with a bunch of doors to different Astral spaces. We took the one to the Realm of the Thunder Lizards to learn about the interplay of Life and Death. It was pretty cool."

The Enchanter seemed fairly amused talking about it in hindsight. What guy wouldn't love a front row seat to see dinosaurs fighting?

[Phoenyx]

Phoenyx nods in agreement with Puck. "It was fascinating. We only saw the dinosaurs, but there were dozens of other gates to explore. Star and Briar Rose did the initial dive, and found more dangerous locations to them than we did. We were.... protected from the beasts, the point being to watch the story unfold. A teaching tool of sorts."

[Corn]

Corn nods at the words of the councilors that experienced it. His mind travelled to his recent experiences with the Mysterium Order's initiation. Will he experience something similar to this experience down the line? Did the Seers have similar rites to expand their understanding. He dreaded the thought...
And with Campanella absent, who could he even ask? These these were things that not everyone in the order, let alone Seers of the throne were supposed to know of.

[Eulogy]

Mordechai blinked in suprise. He was quiet for a long moment as the realization sunk in. Did that actually just happen? he glanced to his fellow Moros and with sincerity said "Thank you Corn. This means a lot to me."

The happy Moron acknowledged Guru with a smile and a modest "Thanks"

Mordichai nodded his thanks to Puck's congratulation. "Thank you councilor."

He looked down at the floor and the words of the others carried on around him. Then one penetrated deep into his psyche like a bolt of lightning...seer?...had he really been so self absorbed? Fawning and fretting about his position that he glazed over the magnitude of what his fellows were discussing? i am such an idiot!

He kept his face plastered with a smile thpugh and tried not to give the impression he was behind.

[Crystal]

Eulogy jumping right into office came as a surprise to Crystal, but it was a welcome one. He seemed to be an intelligent and decent guy, so that never hurt. Plus, this showed Crystal a precedent for when he was going to apply for the position of Mastigos-Councilor. Hell, there wasn't even a second Mastigos to ask so it would be a matter of formality.

He listened to Phoenyx' und Puck's recount of the Astral Dive, not adding anything himself. That day he had kinda been butting heads with the Enchanter already, so chances were anything he said now would only rekindle that spark. No thanks. One thing he could ask for though. "Councilor Phoenyx, if the safe keeping of the Artefact is a concern: the Mysterium has a secure Athenaeum in which we could store it. That wouldn't mean the Order claiming it, nor would we just lock it away from everyone - but it could help us study it more easily to eliminate any danger this object may prove." Doesn't hurt to try, right?

[Kaze]

Kaze smiles and nods and makes a little fist pump towards Eulogy in congratulations and encouragement.

He settles in to listen to the pitch by the Mysterium to get their hands on the thing they've just learned about, wondering who if anyone would object, figuring Winter might, but he's been pretty quiet lately, not as controlling as he's been in the past.
