Magic Shapechanging in the Arrow Sanctum

[Phoenyx]

Eyes narrow a little, but Phoenyx is still smiling. "Spoilsport. Fine, not a panther." Did she really think the Arrow would try and kill him? No, that would be crazy. Aurora was playing, Had to be.

"A dog makes sense," she aquiested slowly, slipping off her shoes. "You're the expert at what this can do, and if anything happens I suppose a dog is less dangerous." She pulls her arms inside her top, pulling the sports bra out and over her head leaving the top on.

She turns back to Aurora. "I'm ready. Just don't make me something small and yappy, okay?"

[Aurora]

Seeing a friend…groom…themselves as a cat was, well, weird.

There was no reaction to the narrowing of the eyes. The Shaman wasn’t playing. Not with this. She took this part of her magic seriously. Maybe too seriously at times. But it was dangerous, and she wouldn’t let a friend kill another friend for shit and giggles.

A shrug, “Both present their own dangers. But I can handle either of them if things got out of hand.” A grim sound to her words. But sometimes it was what it was. Seemed Phoenyx was a bit more modest than Kaze was. But, that was all about personal preference. She, personally, didn’t care. But her being naked presented other problems, such as explaining various scars and scarifications.

Smirking, “But you’d look so cute as a little yippy dog.” She mock teases.

A deep breath was taken as she begins. Thankfully, the universe seems ok with what she was doing, as her body remains unmarked and there was no bleeding from her nose or mouth.

A Glyph begins to form in her hands as the magic forms and then she pushes it at Phoenyx. It was a crisp Glyph, a bit hazy here and there, but a solid Glyph none the less.

Aurora uses Greater Shapechanging on Phoenyx to change her into a German Shepard. There is no possibility of her getting 'lost' in her new form

'...yippy little dog...' that's funny! But it wouldn't be much of a trigger to the cat instincts.

Kaze has figured out a nice, high nook that he's pretty sure he can reach in a single jump and maybe some climbing with these amazing claws he's got. Man, he extends and retracts his claws in a stretch on the stone floor, just for the exhilarating feel of them! This thing is a regular killing machine! If you're, like, in the same weight class.

Aurora's doing her thing. Man, she's doing it improvised! Doesn't even have the rote! She's so cool to the whole thing. If it were him, well he's already got the rote down for the lesser shapechanging! Definitely would learn it for the greater one!

Yeah, he's definitely been wasting some effort studying animals from books and looking at them! Just...being one, he's learned a lot more in whatever short time it's been!

And Phoenyx is a dog. A big dog.

Kaze is pretty sure his cat reflexes will give him plenty of time if the dog tries something, so he licks his paw again, and tries out the extendible and retracting claws a few times, just sitting there, casually inspecting Phoenyx's coloring and coat. Huh. It's probably going to take her a second or two to adjust to the sense of smell at least, especially the stink of dog on her now!

He watches, more curious than anything. He-has to get up and be ready to fight! Whoa, biiiig predator!

Kaze stands up, arching his back and hissing at the big dog, warning it to stay away! He's NOT playing!

Phoenyx frowned. Aurora was taking this very seriously. She wondered if there was something she wasn't telling them, but dismissed it. Aurora wouldn't fool around with this.

There's a scowl, followed by a smile. Maybe she was getting this teasing thing after all.

The sigil flares the bright green of Life, twisted and moved. She could feel herself twisting, leaning forward...

The world went black and white, but was filled with a world of scents and smells. She could taste the sweat everywhere in this room. Aurora's deoderant, Kaze's fur.... everything. It was clearer than sight. Her mind was still clear, and she glanced around the room.

There was also something tight wrapped around her chest and legs. Phoenyx began kicking her back legs, trying to remove her pants, before rolling to try and remove the top. She managed to slip forwards out of her black leggings but the top - and a pair of lacy red knickers - were wrapped around her. She could see KatKaze raising all his hackles, but ignored him and rolled around on the floor, trying to remove the remaining clothes, before padding over to Aurora.

Help!

It emerged as a forlorn bark. Phoenyx turned her head and tried nudging the knickers with her nose, before litting out an annoyed whining sound.

[Aurora]

While she figured there would be some sort of reaction from KatKaze, this wasn’t it.

Looking at the feline, “Kaze, get a hold of yourself.” She scolds. “Deep breaths, remain calm,” a pause, “in control.” Almost a way of trying to remind him.

Now, to say watching Phoenyx try and take human clothes wasn’t funny would be a lie. Total lie. A hand goes up to her mouth, trying to cover the smirk as she bit her tongue to stop from out right laughing. Cause, come on, this was funny.

Finally, it seems defeat was admitted and Aurora kneels down to help, still smirking. “You do realize I can’t transform you back wearing these right?” holding up the red underwear before putting them with pants. Was she teasing? Oh hell yah, and having fun with it too. She also carefully helps with top, placing it with the other items of clothing. “And by the way, this is why some people prefer to start naked or have a high enough mastery of Matter.” Not condescending, just informative.

“Now, clearly someone is a bit freaked out, which is expected, and which we wanted. But now you,” looking to KatKaze, “need to get it under control. Yes, there is now a dog here, but it’s Phoenyx. Try and control those feline instincts. Overcome the stress.” Standing to her full height, though not before scratching behind the Arrows ears. "Focus on who you are, not what you are, push the instincts away."

[Kaze]

With Aurora's urging, Kaze manages to regain control over the cat form he currently inhabits, calming down and relaxing, though he can't help pretending it never happened and grooming himself, licking his paw and watching Phoenyx's dog in clothes antics in a very, 'I meant to do that', cat like manner.

That was a new experience. I don't think I have ever felt out of control like that in my life! It sucked. Huh. Maybe I should follow Aurora's example and hold off on Shapechanging when I don't actually need to...at least until I learn Master level Greater Shapechanging. I think maybe I have to push for that sooner than I thought.

It was an interesting fact - well not to Phoenyx at that exact moment - that German Shepherds cannot scowl. The face was contorted into an angry bearing of teeth that caused the Arrow to look down and run through several dog expressions, trying to get the leer she wanted but the face would not portray. She appeared to settle for "unhappy dog face" which was the closest she could make to express her feeling. The question of the the knickers was responded to with another short bark, and the discovery that dogs can, in fact, roll their eyes.

The Dog reacted to the scratch as if... well... as if Aurora had tried to scratch human Phoenyx behind the ear. The head moves down and away, causing the dog to bad up a few steps and fix her with another reproachful stare and retort with what would probably have been a complaint but that came out as two short barks.

I may be shaped like a dog but I am still me, Aurora.

She sits, stiffbacked and dignified as Phoenyx might be, glancing from Aurora to the panicking Kaze with an expression that might be mild disinterest.

Her body still felt natural, and sitting was almost instinctive. Her body still felt like hers, just a different shape, Seeing in black and white was strange. Also the smells, predominantly sweat. It was strange how much the room stank of it, that she had never noticed before. Also, it was warm. Very warm, in this fur coat. In short, all the things a dog would notice, being processed by a human brain.

It was definately an experience, she admitted to herself.

Looking at Kaze tring to act all nonchalant, she barks loudly at him, seeing if it will throw him off.

[Aurora]

Blue grey eyes focus on KatKaze, looking for signs he was going to lose it again, or attack. Both were not good options.

But he seemed to back in control.

“Good Kaze.” Always praise when something good was done.

An eyebrow raised as she watched Phoenyx, do…well…she wasn’t sure. But it was weird and funny. A smirk came after the barks with a chuckle, “Where is your sense of humor Phoenyx?” she teases. “Remember the all work and no play thing.” Reminding her it was ok to have fun.

Finding something to sit on, she does, crossing her long legs and watches. What was she expecting to happen? She wasn’t sure. This was Kaze’s thing after all, she was just applying a bit more pressure. Maybe it needed more?

[Kaze]

Kaze in cat form blinks at the unexpected bark, but reacts like Kaze with the human mind suddenly being barked at by Phoenyx in a dog form, and NOT like a cat about to be attacked by a large predator!

Though momentarily startled, the cat does not panic, as it did before.

It calmly gets up from it's sitting position and with great, deliberate dignity moves over towards Aurora at an unconcerned, leisurely pace, sitting down again beside her and staring at the dog.

Aurora's quip is met with a low grumble.

Phoenyx watches Kaze pad over to Aurora, continuing to sit and watch.

She emits another short, soft bark.

Now what?
