The Circle of Creation is the gathering hub for all Pentacle mages in the Sacramento Concilium, with chapter houses for all five Orders inside.
Located east of Sacramento and far outside the prying eyes of the inner city, the Circle of Creation awaits the mages of Sacramento. Despite being a replica of the Westminster Abbey, the sleepers who come by never seem to notice it. The wards built into the structure have made sure of this. To all but the Pentacle the Circle is essentially invisible, ensuring the safety of those who enter and engage with one another. Whether it had always been here for the Awakened was hard to say now, but it was the site that the Awakened gather to mingle and discuss official matters.
It is a time for simply for mingling among the Awakened. The common area is large and open, but over the course of the month it's inevitable that people may bump into each other. The official concerns of the Consilium are put on hold as a more lighthearted experience is shared among this community of the Wise. Ultimately, this is the opportunity to let the proverbial hair down. How much so is up to them.
This is the opening post for Sanctuary. Please read this for information on Sanctuary, Consilium, and the difference the two. Come here to be recognized!
Also a reminder, Sanctuary threads are not official Consilium threads. Those under an incarceration sentence may not attend a Sanctuary thread.
Sancturary is not a single event, or formal Consilium. It's a compression of time to represent the comings, goings, and intersections of Awakened throughout the month at the Cirlce.
The Doctor is In,
the Circle of Creation, with a few large tin foil pans filled with meats, pickled veggies and pita bread. A wool cloak, draped around his shoulders, a touch out of place over khaki's and a green polo.
He smiles at any approach, serving utensils at the ready, "Happy Lupercalia Festival! Schwarma?"
Guru was surprised by the smell as he walked into the Circle. His nose drawing him forward with pan in hand. He’d add his loaf of banana bread and fresh whipped honey butter to the table as he smiled at Anima, stretching from ear to ear. “Awesome buddy, fuck yea. I’m all about this. Thanks! How’ve you been, haven’t seen you around much. You been ok?” Guru did not hesitate to take the first cut, eagerly anticipating the taste of the food, excited by the prospects. Wondering if this was what it was like for everyone else when he brought food.
Happy to see a fellow Shaman, and food aficionado, Anima launches into an eager explanation, "Oh yes, things are well, keeping my nose clean and power dry." He attempts to help Guru getting a heaping pile of the meal he's provided, "Now traditionally the Lupercalia festival involves the sacrifice of a goat and a dog, and women hit by men wielding cords cut from the sacrificial instruments were believed to blessed with fertility in the coming year. I thought that shwarma was a close enough approximation, after all, traditions are typically just bastardized memories on a big enough time line."
"Hello", he says breaking in the room and unapologetically interrupting the conversation with his haggard walk. His mood is the usual.
Yeah, Puck's late again. No, that's not changing at this rate. Much like the concilium's fascination with food. Were people here to poor to eat on their own time? Was Guru baking so often to accommodate the extreme poverty people lived in? Not that Puck was any better. First thing he did in the city was try to bum a meal off Kaze. Moral of that story? Don't dawdle when you're trying to fast talk someone. Or maybe Fate was teasing him for abusing his powers?
Meh.
Pucks' dressed for the weather, which is to say jeans and boots with a t shirt and a hoodie all in an unobtrusive combination of blues and blacks. California winters have been proving far more forgiving then Minnesota ones.
"S'up y'all."
His eyes move over to the food, but like Winter he doesn't seem especially interested. At least, not yet. For now his eyes watched for the others who might pour in.
Walking in perhaps a bit later than usual, having lost herself in training.
A quick wave over her eyes as she walks in to allow her to see the supernal not that it seemed to have been a necessity here but better safe than sorry.
Pulse of the living world
Her clothing something that most if not all had already seen, knives strapped to her legs ready in case something would happen.
Walking up to her fellow shamans, waiting her turn to cut into some food herself.
"So you want us to start to procreate and see if we can have some awakened children for the next generation is that your goal little doctor?" Giving him a wink hoping he would get the jest. "Don't know if this little mirror is the best to aid you there though."
Giving Guru a quick warm hug.
"Hope you've been well?"
Keeping eyes on the ready to see who would come, who were here and how people behaved.
Corn showed up to the Circle. The smell of the food drew him in. Mistaken, he turns to the usual suspect for foodstuff.
" @Guru you really surpassed yourself this time, lad!" he said glad for the change. Hearing Anima 's explanation, he realizes his mistake.
" Oh, thank you Anima . Lupercalia eh? Yeah, I remember that. The lads were dressed as wolves and they were celebrating and dancing. Girls were going out of their way to get a hit by the boy they liked, if memory serves."
"It's all a memory of a memory of a memory but that sounds pretty brutal all around. Going to guess there was a lot of feasting and drinking after that they attributed the spike in fertility too instead of, well, you know..." His lips curled up into a grin as he took his food and didn't sit down just leaned against a wall to eat for now.
He raised a brow as Winter seemed to shuffle in. "You ok man?" He couldn't say he knew the man well and he always seemed like he was carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders. A small upward nod given to Puck as he entered. A chunk of meat stuffed into his mouth as Skye came up for a hug and her wrapped one arm around her before patting her on the back and returning to his food. "Seems like we'll have to go for another run after this."
He smiled at Corn's compliment even though it wasn't for his work. He didn't mind being known for helping keep the Consilium fed. "Yea, gotta thank the good Doc for this one. All I did was bring dessert."
From food to fuck within a minute. Though it was a far cry from the record of impropriety established by the Doctor, at least this time it was delivered with irony.
"Not to sound like a bore. But if I were somebody ill-intentioned, food would be the perfect Trojan Horse. People tend to bring their defenses down. Just my two cents", just put the worm there. See if there's any fish.
