Haunted Corn Maze Take 2!

Before jumping into the bounce house, Fugly got a good scratch behind the ears, and belly if he wanted.

There was giggling and happy sounds coming from the Nix, bouncing around the space, falling down, bouncing back up. Long hair, though tied back, still managed to come free, dancing around her head and falling into her face.

“Awww! Surely the guy who takes the money and makes sure we’re all safe will keep an eye on Fugly.” She calls out, before a gilded face pops out, hair wild about her head but she still looked perfect, “I’m even willing to tip in extra to do it.” Eyes bat at the kid. “This will be way more fun with you in here with me!” she says before fall backwards, giggling.

Of course Fugly wanted scratchies! What dog doesn't?!

Sonnie smiled, enjoying seeing her friend have so much innocent fun. It was great to watch Sera relax and cut loose.

The Beast could only laugh as the Nix tried to get the staffer to bend the rules. There sure were a lot of young men around for Sera to mind control manipulate flirt with today. "We're fine. Better if Fugly whizzes on the dirt, anyway."

Well that guy was not fun at all!

Rolling out of the bounce house, not very gracefully, but still laughing. Looking at the Beast through a mess of hair, “Get in there girl! It’s a blast!”

Getting her boots back on, she reaches into her bag and pulls out a bottle of water, offering some to Fugly from her hand before taking a swig for herself. “Curious if you can bounce higher than I did!” she teases, issuing a challenge, but a friendly one. More pets to the all mighty Fugly, while her other hand worked at detangling her hair. But figuring it was a look, she took a quick selfie to send Rhodes. Why not?

It was her turn! Finally! Sonnie handed the leash to Sera with a grin, then ran into the bouncy house!

Aaaat laaaaaaast... my looooove has come along... my lonely days are over... and life is like a song!

Ah, the mental soundtrack of a Monkey in a bouncy house.

"Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee ee!" Much wild bouncing was had, some of it rather acrobatic. There was more than one flip, that was for certain. Higher bounces than the Nix was debatable, though.

Meanwhile, Fugly photobomb!

The Nix laughed at the photo-bomb, because a Fugly photo-bomb was the best there was! After it was sent to Rhodes , she looked at Sonnie.

Seeing the flips, she cheers for her friend! There were claps and whistles! If you ever need someone to cheer you on whole heartedly, the Nix was your girl.

“That was amazing Sonnie!” eyes wide as she watched. “If there was Olympics for bounce houses, you would defiantly get the gold!” there was no denying how athletic the Beast was. And while she bounced higher and better than the Treasured, it didn’t bother her, it was about letting go and just having fun! "Now I want one of these for my backyard!" better believe she was going to look into getting one.

"Ah, that was nothing. I was just falling with style!" the Beast laughed as she exited the plastic structure. She gasped in joy at the thought of Sera getting her own bouncy house. "You totally should!" Nod nod nod!

She wondered if she could add a bouncy house to her Hollow. There sure wasn't room in her apartment.

Taking Fugly's leash back (if the Nix wanted to let go), Sonnie gestured at the corn maze. "Shall we begin our adventure into the labyrinth?" She grinned. "Labyrinth means maze... or as the Native Americans called it: Corn." That... didn't sound right.

“Well, it was one hell of a style then!” more then she had, that was for sure. Laughing, “I’ll have to look into it, I don’t even know how much they cost.” Looking at the structure, thoughtful, then smirking, “How long do you think it would take Max to notice?” she asks, still smirking.

She would let Sonnie take the leash, Fugly was her dog after all. And this freed up her hands to pick up a couple candy apples, handing one to the Beast.

A look of brief confusion, but she wasn’t sure where the error was, but there was one. “Err, um, sure?” then holds her candy apple up, “To the maze!” looking to Fugly, “Are you ready to defend us again good Sir?” though she does hope it goes better this year and she doesn’t end up on her butt. That was just embarrassing.

"I mean, they're just plastic and air, right? They can't be that expensive." Sonnie giggled, "I bet it takes Max some time to..." she paused and blinked. "Wait, who's Max?" There was a sudden gasp of surprise. "Did you hire a waiter-slash-waitress for the cafe? Is he or she or they cute?"

After that, the Monkey was in no position to speak, as her mouth had a candy apple jammed into it. She did, however, give the Nix a thumbs up.

Fugly was free to speak, though! And he did! A bark was issued in response to Sera's question. It was an all-purpose bark, so it could be interpreted in a myriad of ways. Safe to assume it meant yes, in this case.

Glancing back at the structure, then shrugging, “Well, some sort of durable material. A lot of it.” Another shrug, “I’ll look into it, and if I can get one, you will be the first I call over!” because of course! A translucent slender finger was held up to her lips in a ‘shhh’ motion, “I just might have. And I might have made sure they were single. Gotta hook my girl up!” A wink. She knew Sonnie knew who ‘Max’ really was, but it was fun to play along.

She wanted to laugh, but with a candy apple in her mouth as well, it didn’t come out as laugh. But the full mouth smile was there, the thumbs up returned.

Fugly got a scratch behind his ear in response.

The maze looked similar to how it had looked last year. Corn stalks tall and dying, but planted in a way that left little space to get between. Thankfully, or not, a path had been established for those who dared enter. Lights had been provided, not really for comfort, but safety. Screams could be heard from deeper in the maze, then laughter, followed by a chainsaw and more screams. Yup, it was like last year.

Creepy part? You could hear the corn moving, like someone, or something, was moving among it. But was out of sight and hidden.

The Nix put on a brave face, eating her candy apple with wide eyes darting around the path.

"Ah, you're too good to me!" She laughed, as they headed into the maze.

Truth was, she didn't know how Max was. Well, she did at one point, but she'd forgotten for whom that was a pseudonym. The little piece of data had fallen through the sieve that was her monkey memory.

In any case, her more bestial sense came on alert. The rustling of the corn did, indeed, set her on edge. In a good way, though. Mostly.

"Why are people screaming? This is all so fake!" She said, as she crept quietly along the path. "Was... was that a chainsaw?"

Fugly was pretty relaxed, and was enjoying sniffing at every rock and footprint he came across.
