Smarties are not for her. Besides, she's quite content with just following the flow of conversation. Turns out the meeting has taken an unexpected turn.
Smirking to Sonnie, “I don’t think it can be said enough.” At least to her. Getting welcomed multiple times seemed ok to her.
A perfectly manicured eyebrow arches, “I did?” she asks, pretty sure she said nothing of the kind.
Pouting to Circe, “Aw, I could have gone for some coffee. Oh well,” a shrug, “guess it means I have to swing by the coffee shop.” She probably should anyways.
“Annoying? I can honestly say I’ve never heard anyone call you annoying.” Shaking her head. Maybe some had, and the Summer had disposed of them in the Hedge.
With nothing to add to what Ram said, she seemed content to let the Summers work it out.
"Squeeeee! Gimmie the keys!" The Monkey made grabby hands towards Circe as she hopped to her feet and proceeded to jump up an down impatiently. So much for keeping a lower volume. "I'll go get snacks while you talk to your new Ogre... lackey? Uh, minion? Soldier? Yeah, soldier!" That last one sounded less demeaning.
Sensing, somehow, that food was soon to be had, Fugly joined his mistress in excited bouncing! It was nice when pet and owner shared common interests.
"Too true!" Sonnie replied to the Nix as she waited for the snack shop keys. "Did you not? Maybe I promised that you'd tell Circe to bring snacks while you were on the phone not listening to me?" Wait, what?
"Oooooh," Circe liked Ram's description of his skills. She gives him a thumbs up, "All Summers in town I welcome ya Ram. So ya smash? With just yer hands or weapons too?"
She waves her hand in the negative at Yamiyo, "No, I already took pain killers and caffe," she shakes the thermos, "Second one." Then her head snaps, well her neck pops, as Seraphina pouts and mentions a coffee shop. Then a shiver goes through the blue elf. "Uggggh," she drops the thermos to hold the sides of her head. She falls back into Italian, "Troppo veloce, ahiiii."
This was setting back her hangover recovery. Why did those foreigners insist on drinking as part of business? Circe groans out in answer to Sera, "Usually mundies, pissing 'em off more Glamour, yay, ow."
And Sonja Wu is in great luck. These actions prevent Circe from thinking it might be a bad idea to give Sonja the bypass key for Funderland. So a blue hand fished into her suit's pocket, pulls out a key, and gives it to the monkey, "Uh huh soldato. Soldato farmi un po', ugh," she finally switches to English, "Ice too please."
“Interests?” He didn’t get asked that much. Mostly it was what he could do. “Sports I guess. And I sing a bit. Not well but it helps pass the time. Keep your mind off things.” He remembered belting out a song with fellows around the campfire and kicking around heads for goals when they weren’t at risk of mortar fire. “And I know a couple things about architecture,” he added. Mostly how to best bring it down but even that had brought at least some knowledge of the wider world that Fairie so often denied.
He wasn’t sure he appreciated the monkey’s implication that he belonged to Circe. Seemed kind of mean and thoughtless to imply, given what they’d gone through. And it made him wonder how much was truly meant. Was there a reason the Fairest was the only Summer in town?
“With my hands,” he said in answer to his preferred method of destruction “Never really held a gun or sword before.” There had always been other people to do that.
The switch to different languages had Ram looking between Yamiyo, Circe and Sonnie with incomprehension. Though he heard something at least approaching the word soldier. “Umm, what?”
“You know in public conversations like the one we’re having it’s generally considered rude to switch languages unless everyone present speaks it.” His eyes opening, half-lidded to look at the group again. Caution might have been a bit of an unwelcome start to the conversation for the new arrival but most certainly weren’t putting their best foot forward, himself included. But winter, secrets, yadda yadda yadda. Making nice was never his forte.
“Though I generally assume when Circe switches dialects it’s just a string of expletives. Seeing the versatility and variety of the word fuck in another language is something.” Though seeing Ram’s reaction to Sonnie’s lack of tact he frowned, blinked slowly and slid up the tree so he was standing fully. “Don’t mind that one, no brain-mouth filter.” Though his eyes opened more, posture shifting as Ram mentioned music. “What kind of music do you like?” Music was the one thing James kept in his soul, the one thing that anchored him in his humanity and oddly enough it had never come up before.
Walking over to pick up the Smarties that the monkey had chosen not to catch despite being thrown at her.
"Sonnie dear just a clarification have I made something to anger or upset you? If so I am terribly sorry but could you kindly tell me what I did if such is the case?" Having tried to talk to her a couple of times but never getting a reply and now even her offer of smarties which she carried just for her had been ignored which started to get her to wonder a bit of what she had done.
Looking over to Ram.
"That sounds interesting, what kind of sports do you prefer? And if you like so could we go to a karaoke bar to have a little welcome party for you, I do know a couple but I have never been to one or well at least not one that I can remember having gone to." She had far to many bar jumps behind her where she lost track of where she had and hadn't been.
Taking the water bottle and putting it back in her purse.
"You know water is better than coffee for the body, then again few things beats water in that regard so you really should have some."
Ignoring James comments, he wasn't wrong sure but she rarely had a chance to use it anywhere and getting some practice in before school was not a bad idea not knowing how much she would need to use it once she was in her new sorority and getting some affirmation that she didn't speak it all to wrong would be nice.
"So. Mr. Ram. I shall count on you joining our next Talent show. Oh, and assisting our landscaping project". By landscaping, she really meant fixing whatever the true Fae were doing around funderland.
The Treasured laughed, light, musical in sound, at Sonnie. “Think you better give her the keys Circe.” if not, they’d have a jumping overexcited monkey on their hands.
“And you don’t want to deny poor little Fugly some yummies.” Cause that was just mean.
A shrug, “I’m not sure. But I can be forgetful at times.” Not this time, but she was playing along.
But when the new Summer mentions singing, it catches her attention. “Oh, what do you sing?” she was always interested when someone mentioned singing. It was kind of her thing after all.
She didn’t say anything in regards to James’s comment about different languages. She’d just grown used to Circe switching back and forth in a conversation. Smirking, “I think that’s a safe bet James.” With a nod of agreement.
There was more squeeing as the key toheaventhe snack kiosk was handed over by the absent-minded Larcenist. "Thankyouthankyouthankyou! Yes! Ice, you got it! Anybody want anything else? Know what? Nevermind, I'll just get everything!"
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand Sonnie was off before Circe could realize what a terrible idea this was. Fugly was right on her heels!
Hopefully she heard any other requests before she left.
The nearby kiosk was unlocked and opened and invaded. The faint sounds of rummaging was accompanied by the Beast talking excitedly to herself, as well as some happy whining from the dog.
"Popcorn is a must! Oh, cotton candy! Yesyesyes! Peanuts! Gotta have those! Gotta fill up some sodas! Oh, is there any chocolate? Hmmm... what's in this cabinet?"
When Sonnie returns, her arms were loaded up with what would probably be over a hundred bucks worth of amusement park snacks, if she were paying for any of it. Even her tail was dragging a large, clear plastic bag containing a huge ball of rainbow-colored cotton candy. The grin on her face was one of hunger soon to be satisfied.
"Huh?" A confused look was given to Yamiyo. "Uh, no? Did you say something?"
