(Wyrdstone) Auction!

[Saber Sloth]

The Tall Man had said the Auction was soon to begin and it was so! From behind them the Lost hear the heavy Church door close. Those standing quickly find their set within the pews. Upon the dais, some squat hobs push a beautiful looking wheeled display case.

"From distant shores!" the Tall Man begins, "And times long gone... if the Wyrd smiles down, you'd find the head, and if not, the tail. Were you to aid the Wyrd....those who would next find it, would be blessed." the Tall Man smiles, wide and sharp, "The Lucky Penny!" he announces with a flourish! showing the room a small coin, bronze and green. Patinaed and moss grown.

From the pew in front of them, the tree wooden numbers are raised. Then again from the pew to the left. The front pew raises their numbers again, only to have someone behind the second person raise there's!

Do y'all want me to go into a few different Auction Items, so you have a chance to bid (all non plot related things will cost XP), or would you want me to narrate over them and get right to the Wyrdstone?

[Seraphina]

She seemed to swell with pride, “I do, don’t I?” a wink offered.

Worst comes to worst she had Hedgespun to offer, but keeps that bit to herself. She wasn’t anxious to do it, but she would for the Freehold.

Sapphires bat innocently at the Dread Lord, “I wouldn’t dream of it dear. Not a game I particularly enjoy.” though the playfulness of his tone made the little heart worked into the corset top of her dress pulsed a bit quicker. She was going to turn heads wherever she went, it was just how it was. But playing up those around them, some maybe in charge? Might help.

A smirk to Circe, “I am not up for trade.” Now the dress? Maybe, if they needed it.

Being closed in a Hedge Church with unknown Hobs and Lost wasn’t her idea of a fun, but, she tried to focus.

Lucky Penny? Now that was kind of neat. Though she had Contracts for that. Her eyes watch the bidding, trying to gauge who the high bidders were.

Personally? I kinda like the excitement of seeing what items you come up with! And I'm ok going though a few before the stone shows up

[Circe]

"Damn straight yer not, though wish I'd spun up some other pretties ta sell but," she shrugs while giving an expression that read oh well.

Though the idea of a church in the Hedge? That made her uncomfortable given her childhood. She really hopes that the building was an immitation and not a mortal structure that fell into the Thorns. Black and red eyes squint at the so called Lucky Penny.

The thing about hobs is that sometimes they screwed you over. Even unintentionally as they did not always comprehend mundy devices. Like that hob in the Bay who was trying to sell Dracula's blood. So was the coin the real deal or just someone's old good luck charm? She leans over to Rhodes, "Ya think that is legit?"

Whilst stone is priority, it could be quite amusing to see a hob auction. I'd expect whispers and restraint from the PCs since the rock is the priority. If the PCs decide they will save their goods for the stone, we can just post to let you know they won't be betting again until the stone is offered.

[Rhodes]

The Dread Lord's eyes turned to the Auctioneer, smiling from their brief playfulness. Time for focus was upon them, however.

Trade Sera? He's see bodies hit the floor sooner.

The Lucky Penny was most curious. "Perhaps, but good luck rarely comes without bad somewhere as a trade-off," he replied to Circe.

While the goods would be interesting, Rhodes is leaning towards getting straight to the Stone. Too much rides on it, and if there can't be a Freehold Pledge he wants something in place.

[Saber Sloth]

"SOLD!" comes the Tall Man's voice to the sniper.

And so, the Auction continues.

Items, great and small come to the dais, pushed and carried by those squat hobs.

A small porcelain doll, with a single strikingly real looking cat eye. gleaming amber and evergreen. When the light of the church shines on it, it reflects light back. "Which allow you to see through them!"

A moldy pair of leather boots, well, worn and bloodstained. "Slipped from the feet of an unfortunate corpse, but will allow your steps to sound like those of the dead!"


A bloody red ribbon, "Wrap this around your sidearm's barrel, and you will never miss a shot!"

"The Ashlight!" a shoddy plastic flashlight, with a lump of coal set inside instead of batteries and glass. "Said to blind the Others...."

A beautiful jacket, looking like the aurora borealis framed with snow and icicles. "Which allows the wearer to, hmm, equivocate."

A pair of bracelets, though there are spikes on the inside. They are stained red-brown. "Bracelets of Bonding! Connected to one another, they will only loosen their hold upon their bonded when whomever wears the other one dies!"

A small vial, with sealed with a cork and wax, "It holds the screams of the damned!"

Until, finally, what they've come for...

"The crown jewel of our Auction. Mined from the petrified body of a dragon long dead, this, my friends. Is the Wyrd blessed heart...."

One by one, those in the pews raise their wooden numbers to bid...

A small shrug to Circe about the Penny. “In here, I think anything is possible.” It was a Hedge item, if he said it was lucky, then it was lucky. But there was probably a nasty downside too.

Nodding to Rhodes when he spoke, always a trade-off. Always bad to go with the good. The fine print was a bitch and always needed to be read.
She sits, engrossed in what was being offered, item after item. Each with its own special ability.

But that jacket? Now that was nice, and it caught her attention. She wasn’t a Winter, but it was stunning!

Then the item they were there for. The stone.

And seemed they weren’t the only ones after it. Well, they would just need to bid better, and she holds her own number up and with a playful smile.

[Circe]

Circe nods, "True."

That ribbon has her interest, though the question of price it demands was worth considering. A powerful Token true, but what was it's trigger? Blood of the owner? Blood of the innocent? Rare rodent blood? She could make good toys on her own and never miss took away the fun. Unless it was like Fifth Element tracing kind of thing, then fun!

Circe joins Seraphina in raising her number for the stone. Was that how it worked? Stealing was so much easier then auctioning.

[Rhodes]

There seemed to be little that caught his attention, but the Dread Lord ahd the resonsibilities of Director and this wasn't a scoial call.

As the ladies began the bidding, Rhodes kept his panel down. NO point competeing with one another.

"Ah! A bidding war!" the Tall Man cackles, voice a flutter going back and forth between all who put up their numbers
