Making sure to catch up; Matt goes AFTER the Swarm and Sewer Beast/ Beshil, so this thread is NOT waiting on Matt at the moment...right?
Something of the rat that Beshilu mimic and the human that was consumed fuses and a screeched yell of utter fear escapes the rat-thing as the rest of the pack piles in. A rat screaming could almost be mistaken for a child screaming, this is something else. Reaching beyond a rat or human. The fear of a spirit King as its ripped to shreds....again.
Sewer Slave-Driver which been so diligently bullying and forcing its weaker kin to gnaw faster and deeper falls limp in Bleeds Well's grasp. Dark foul smelling blood seeps between Bleeds Well's teeth and from the tears left by the rest of the pack. The response from the Swarm is instantaneous. The rolling mass of rats pulls away from the pack and begins to flee towards the dark beyond the light shining from somewhere up above.
Sewer takes 8 Lethal and will rapidly bleed out. The Swarm is starting to flee however the pack can easily catch up to it if they want. Anyone who does can roll a reflexive Perception check which will confirm that the pack's effort so far has done no real damage to the Swarm. Like throwing a pebble into a pond something bigger and broader may be needed to make an impact (the Swarm is in fact a Swarm).
Bleeds Well 14, Brigit 13, Emily 13, Hector 9, Swarm 9, Matt 6. Matt Joule is up, you were correct we were waiting on me.
Matt rushes after the Swarming rats intending to throw himself on the rats and roll, trying to crush enough of them to do significant damage to the swarm as a whole!
No idea if that makes any sense to try or what kind of roll would represent it; Failed the Perception check in any case.
failure
Being the size of a massive dog or arguably small horse doesn't help in this case as the rat swarm parts and for brief moments swarms after he throws himself at them.
Bleeds Well 14, Brigit 13, Emily 13, Hector 9, Swarm 9, Matt 6. Bleeds Well is up.
Matt could have perform an attack against the Swarm, a successful perception would have told him that teeth and claw aren't really doing anything though.
With Sewer discorporated there is no further foe Bleeds Well can take out his rage upon. He shifts down to Urshal, putting a clamp on the rage boiling within before it could boil over. Frustration mounts and any further action in Gauru would only increase his risk of Kuruth.
He has no gift to help, no weapon to use, fighting the swarm is like fighting a river.
He howls, frustration and rage echoing through the tunnels.
4 successes
The center of the mass had been eliminated and the swarm itself moved away from the pack in a flow that was almost like water.
The time for the Rage of the Gauru needed to end, lest it destroy Brigit. THus, she reached deep into herself and forced herself back to Urhan.
1 success
Letting out a frustrated growl as the Beshilu slithered to the dark, the Pale Wolf moved to rejoin the Alpha. They needed a plan. Or they needed to call off the hunt.
Emily chases after the swarm, yipping eagerly. She tries catching the rats in her wolf-jaws.
1 success
The rat swarm continues to flee from the pack. Squeaks of fear and hurled curses <<Half-breeds! Traitors!>> spike as Bleeds Well howls into the room and the tunnels that extend from it. Coherency of the swarm starts to break down as it gets closer and closer to the darkness deeper into the room. Only a few moments now and the swarm will be in the darkness...
Bleeds Well 14, Brigit 13, Emily 13, Hector 9, Swarm 9, Matt 6. Matt Joule is up
Matt snaps at each rat he can, seeing it is mostly futile to pick off one or two here or there, but not seeing a more productive tactic, he gives in to his Wrath and decides to kill as many as he can before they escape!
6 successes
The large wolf sprints to the edges of the quickly fanning bunch, throwing himself into this work. He tries to herd the rats back together, condense the swarm.
But it's not use, herding rats turned out to be a lot like herding cats. Probably something to do with the rhyme scheme.
<Call Fire!> He barks at Emily. She's always using the gift to impress everyone with her cigarette lighting skills, or for dramatic effect. How about to burn the the damn rats. If Bleeds Well is in the line of fire... well it's in his deed name.
Burns an essence to heal a lethal
