There was a small groan as he pulled away, but she knew he was right. Later.

She looks at him, then back to the glass, then back, “Sorry, I don’t remember him.” Then something seems to come to him.

Sapphires widen at the thought, “Oh wow. That would explain a lot!” but were they friendly Changelings?

She glances around nervously, wondering just what they were up to here. Who were they working for? Was this a trap? "We need to regroup and figure this out." and regroup not in here.

A nod as she follows him back into the room. “Do you think the woman who sent us here is in on this? That this was a trap for us?” she asks.

[Rhodes]

Rhodes smirks. "Careful darling - your desires are showing," A smile, planting another quick kiss on her lips. "Besides, fifteen minutes? Do you really think that's long enough?" He winks, and turns back to the room.

"He was there, but we couldn't see him. Like he was hidden or, more likely, shrouded," The Autumn Monarch explains. "Going back there could be a risk, but it might be worth it just before we go. We'll have to return the key anyways. I can try and spot things - I have a knack for it."

Opening his senses to the Wyrd is something Rhodes does less often than he would admit - with other talents for similar effects, kenning was not often his first tool. And yet, he feels his senses lured in a particular way. The Flowering scoops up the bottle, and looks at the label. "This. Something about this is magical in nature, but I'll need time to assess what it actually is."

He checks his watch. "Hard to say. She could be.... I don't know if they wanted us. Should we get going? And would you like to look, ah, suitably disheveled?" Another smirk.

The label of the bottle is written in cursive, Almost illegible, and definitely not English. Those definitely not english words are coloured golden against the white paper.


Time continues to count down the scant few minutes of the remaining hour they had payed for.

[Seraphina]

There was a demure shrug, “What can I say, you bring them out.” She says innocently with a smirk. “And only one way to find out.” She tosses back, but knows they were here for another reason.

“Well, that’s not very comforting. But when we go back, did you need me to provide a distraction to give you more time?” it would be good to know beforehand.

She didn’t even notice the bottle, making her realize she just wasn’t as observant as she needed to be.

A nod, “Yeah, lets meet up with the others and decide what the next step is. And give you a chance to look at the bottle.” Because they weren’t doing that in here. Something wasn’t right here, and she didn’t want to stick around to find out what it was.

Then an eyebrow raises, “It would give a viable excuse as to why we didn’t find anything in the room to help our friend. And I’d never say no to looking disheveled from you.”

[Rhodes]

Rhodes chuckles. "When we get home, then."

He thinks. "I wouldn't say no. Anything that can give us more clues helps." A distraction was always useful.

A nod. "Yes... it's rare I get to analyse something of this caliber. Should be fun!" And time to test out the Hollow.

The Flowering grins, and slips his arms around Sera.

A few minutes later, the slightly disheveled Fairest emerge from the room.

The feeling of theatre persists, as they exit the room, knowing what they know from their observations, they can see the stage for what it is. Nothing, it seems is how it should be. Barely together, the walls seems to buckle, the lights, evenly spaced flicker off and on. To many fixtures on a too worn system.

It's just a short way down the hall to the lobby now.

So a distraction it would be. And her mind works over a few ideas, ones that wouldn’t draw too much attention, but give him the time he needed.

“I don’t think I’ve gotten the chance to see you work on something like that, and it’s good to see you excited about it.”

Properly disheveled, a little more then worked up, she enters the hallway. There was a moment where she almost attempted to put herself back together, but then stopped. Remembering it was for a good reason.

The Flowering smiles. "It takes a long time, and can be pretty boring. But if you want to watch, you're welcome."

Rhodes could feel his hair our of place, his buttons askew, and has to restrain himself from tidying back up. Pride was always the Fairest's flaw.

Focusing on the strange writing on the bottle, the Dread Lord is unaware of anything happening around him.

The fancy little bottle does indeed capture all of the Dread Lord's attention, or perhaps the way his lady's mane, glinted in the flickering lights...


Seraphina on the other hand, notices a shadow on the carpet. It's cause likely to be hiding behind the wall to a separate hallway, leading deeper into the motel....

There was a happier smile this time, “I’d like that.” Maybe she could learn something.

But the shadow on the carpet? That makes her stop walking and rest a hand on Rhodes arm.

Silently, she points to it, then looks to him. They had to return the key, yes, but could this shadow lead to helping solve the mystery? “What do you think dear? Front desk or a little detour?”
