[Phoenyx]

"We are Awakened, Kaze!" She snaps. "I will not tell them to stay inside." Reaching into her pocket she pulls out some leather fingerless gloves and begins jabbing the punching bag aggressively. The dull thuds of her fists echo in the space.

"We go to ground, they will keep hunting us." Thudthud. Thud. "The Seers are on the back foot." Thud. Thudthudthud. "We need to study what we found with about half of the arcana represented in this Concillium."

She whirls around on him. "I know I'm in charge, Kaze! I wake up and know it. I fall asleep and know it. That doesn't...." she chokes on the words. "I don't... The Arrow grmices angrily.

I don't know what to do.
I can't say it. I can't be weak. Not now. I have to lead.

Her face flinched with emotions. "I.... really need you to have my back Kaze. Because when the others find out about us, and they will, I need to know they respect my judgement and you don't just obey me because we sleep together."

Phoenyx turns and tries to jab the bag, but admitting that seems to have drained her. She leans agaist it and shrinks slightly.

[Kaze]

"I absolutely do, Phoenyx." Kaze says gently but determined. "There will always be excuses for people to question any leadership. Awakened just don't tend to like anyone telling them what to do." he says. "If not our relationship, they could pick your being young or Path rivalries or being a woman or even being Asian. It's just excuses because leading mages is like herding cats. I know you can handle it, Phoenyx."

Kaze pauses and then says, "So, what title do you think is best for me to refer to you as? 'First Talon'? Or something else?"

[Phoenyx]

The stare is deathly cold. "Stop. Talking."

Seriously, who lists the ways this could go bad?

She goes back to the punching bag, smacking it around. "Sergeant. It's what we told everybody." The little Arrow turns around. "There'll be no slacking off in training. Come on. On the mat." A small smirk touches her lips.

Kaze stops talking abruptly at Phoenyx's command. He seems calm and comfortable with the ensuing silence as Phoenyx punches the bag. He begins stretching exercises, slow and steady.

Then Phoenyx tells him how to address her, and he nods in acknowledgement, a slight smile of pride creeps into his serene expression.

He grins when Phoenyx orders him to the mat. "Yes, Sergeant!" he says with great enthusiasm and complete sincerity!

[Phoenyx]

Phoenyx stares at Kaze, fighting off the urge to smile. "You... dummy."

But he's loyal. Like a puppy.

With a great body. Mmm.

Focus up, Kamiko. We're going to beat him.

Phoenyx drops into a fighting stance, facing him.

We can skip on if you like? Or have a real fight?
Skipping it is easier really.

I can skip if you prefer, but really, we've never ever actually had a real fight. That said, I didn't cast Kaze's spells for the scene, so either way.
