"You will fulfill your role at the best of your capabilities and without unnecessary fireworks. That's your philosophy, nothing else is expected on my account", he turns to the side, welcoming the new arrival with a nod. From Kaze, his eyes wander back to Phoenyx, the cigarette between his lips bobs up and down as he talks.
Three sixths of the Golden Key were in assembly, soon they'd have to select a new Councilor.
"Let's start by showing me how you two fare against each other"

Phoenyx stands as Kaze enters, giving him a soft smile. "Hey." He came. Good.

She looks confused for a moment. "I did not have siblings...? Ah. Not parents. Par-ENS. It's an old term for master. But the though the method is different the guiding principle is the same. Overcoming challenges by force of will, be it direct or through workaround." A typical Obrimos view, perhaps, and so it somewhat explained her Path.

The Arrow nods. That duty was simple and standard enough expectation. But his next suggestion raises an eyebrow. "You wish to see our own skill. That is reasonable." She looks to Kaze, her eyes eager and challenging. "That is, if Kaze agrees."

The latest Arrow's arrival was greeted with a noticeable smile. "Galatia. Sentinel Winter has expressed an interest in what it is I teach, and I invited him to observe. Given the absence of any inexperienced individual he has requested to see the martial skill of the Arrow first-hand." Phoenyx looks at her neutrally. "If you wish me to teach you, then yes, I do. I understand your preferences but this is about learning, and I have not taught animals. Only people." Her tone is carefully level. She likes Galatia, but teaching a raccoon would just be... Weird.

Given this is just a simple demonstration, I figured we might just do some narration rather than roll out whole fights, just to keep things moving? What do people think?

we could treat it as a contested action between kaze's and phoenyx's dice pools, this way the winner won't be picked at random and we won't have to bother with the damage in case bashing ever crossed into lethal. Maybe set a target number and dynamically narrate as you got there? First to reach the target is the winner? Just an idea

Sure. That way it wouldn't just be lots of posts with only Kaze and Phoenyx and die rolling. Kaze's die pool are Str 3, Brawling 5, brawling specialty in Kung Fu +1, Kung fu 5 (not a die pool normally, but depending on what we're 'demonstrating'), and weaponry 3.Hi

His Dex and Wits are both 3, so he tends to use Force mage shield 3 rather than Life shield 2.

"No magic, try not to hurt each other too much. I want to see how you perform in a random scenario", his tone shifts, turning more severe as his eyes land on Kaze, "And you", he waves his cigarette at him like a conductor's baton, "no katanas. Nice jacket though", he adds sarcastically, "get rid of that. This isn't the New York Fashion week. You're a soldier, not a model. Start."

Phoenyx gestures for Kaze to come on to the grass. "Galatia, if you watch - I want you to assess our styles. Perhaps it will provide insight - for us and you." She looks to her opponent. "I'll know if you go easy on me," She says, smiling.

She waits for Kaze to remove his Jacket and faces her before moving quickly over to him and lashing out with a quick punch, trying to catch him off guard, followed by a lighting sweep at his legs.

Kaze allows Phoenyx to strike, slapping aside her strikes without apparent discomfort. Then he strikes back, with a focussed strike targetting Phoenyx's midsection.

Assuming Phoenyx's attack pool did not already subtract Kaze's Defense of 3 and his Kung Fu Iron Skin for 1 armor vs bashing, Kaze would take subtract 4 from the right, so no sux on him.

Kaze's rolled attack pool was subtracting Phoenyx's Def, so I think 2 sux get through.
