As soon as Rebecca took the cloth from Jacque she found a plastic bag to place it in; an attempt to keep it from being contaminated in any way. She then made her way directly to her lab. Her lab coat came on as she made her way to her counter top, chemicals and tools at the ready. Then she got to work analyzing the cloth recovered by Jacque.

Following Rebecca's invitation to the lab he grabs a lab coat and gets to work reviewing the impacts the compound has on organics, "This is an impressive lab, Priscus Simmons."
Jacque and Rebecca easily pick this poison apart. It is indeed a poison. They are together to be able to determine that it is a chemical deviation of VX nerve chemical, but it has an almost acid like quality as it is dissolving any flesh it was put against, living... or dead.
Rebecca and Jacque together are able to hypothesize with near certainty that this chemical was made for poisoning, and causing excessive damage to not only humans, but kindred as well. If a kindred is exposed to a small amount, it will cause lethal damage, but if it is ingested by the kindred, it could easily kill them if enough time went by.
